What I liked about this book:

I like the idea of two girls who hate one another being glued together for the whole year for a project. It's very clear the disdain these two characters have for one another, and I can sort of tell why--they're just two very different people.

What I did NOT like about this book:

I can't actually tell what the plot is? At this point there's what, like nine chapters written? And the whole project thing didn't come in until chapter 6 or so. The rest of the time was just Kayla and Aatikah whining about how each one of them hated the other. I can't tell if this is supposed to be a romance or what, or what I'm even reading about, other than two girls that don't like one another and have to do a project together.

Both of these girls are unlikeable and snobby. They have an almost identical voice, and if not for the headers at the top of each chapter, I wouldn't know who is who. It's all written in alternating first person which I usually hate anyway but it's not even done well here.

Grow a plot, give these characters a distinct personality, and switch your point of view to third. That would make this piece much stronger.

Overall:

Not really enjoyable. Not terrible enough for me to make a point of it. Forgettable, tbh.

Rating:

4/10 probably. Another interesting idea with poor execution.
