What I liked about this book:

Bits of the prose are really beautiful. This has the potential to be a really heartrending, beautiful piece.

What I did NOT like about this book:

The author needs to stop watching bad slice-of-life anime. This book is easily four times as long as it should have been, and lost me somewhere in chapter two, though because I hate myself I kept reading to chapter 8, waiting for it to get better.

This is not a Charles Dickens novel. Nobody likes reading those. I don't need pages of description of what the stairwell at school looks like or what the cherry blossoms sound like as they fall on the ground. Cut most of that shit and give me some substance.

This was painful to read and really had nothing going on within all that purple prose. Cut it. Pare this book down until it's 20 chapters, and then it maybe will be decent.

Overall:

WAY too much description. I really don't need to say anything else, that's it.

1/10. Honestly this needs serious, serious work.
