What I liked about this book:

The text message conversations were sort of clever I guess. It was pretty easy to read through.

What I did NOT like about this book:

This is a nothing book about nothing. Some dude gets his heart broken and then starts fetishizing a Japanese guy while they talk a lot about what kind of anime they like. It's just weird and really unsettling. The MC calls the Japanese kid 'mr. Asian' several times instead of his name. There's no actual plot here, just two dudes talking about which anime ships they like so they can eventually bone.

There are lots of awkward descriptions. 'The green-eyed male'. 'The Japanese boy'. Stuff like that which really tells nothing to the audience and comes off as awkward and stilted. This is extremely common in fanfic for some reason and I always hate it.

This is just some weird anime fetish-fest, and I rather hated it.

Overall:

Bad yaoi.
