What I liked about this book:

This poem does have a nice message: that being feminine is not synonymous with weak, and that women don't need men to protect them.

What I did NOT like about this book:

This poem is muddy, and it took me a while to grasp what even happened. I think a man assaulted the woman in it, and then she fired back, but I really can't tell. The author needs to clarify what's going on.

I think cutting some of the rhyming and going instead for cadence and rhythm would make this a far more powerful piece, but I often think that about poetry that rhymes.

Overall:

Meh.
