What I liked about this book:

Some of the description was nice.

What I did NOT like about this book:

Five chapters in and I have no idea what this book is about, because it's the equivalent of a huge pile of chocolate sauce with a speck of ice cream at the bottom. The prose is okay in spots, I suppose, but almost all of it is far too purple. It's like taking a big bite of that sundae and gagging on how sweet it is.

We need some balance here. Salt on a steak is nice. Pouring an entire container of Morton's onto a cut of skirt and trying to convince me it tastes good is just cruel.

I need more detail and substance here, and some reason for this woman moving into this house and a reason I should care about her. I need some personality, some aspect of story to latch onto, because right now all I have is purple prose trying way too hard to be deep with nothing behind it to help it stand up.

This book gave me a headache, honestly.

Overall:

I can't for the life of me figure out how this got featured.
