Born with Lies

Author: endforcommence

Genre: Historical Fiction

What I liked about this book:

It was short. It was written with mostly proper spelling and grammar I guess.

What I did NOT like about this book:

This reads like an outline, and jumps around from idea to idea in a way that is completely nonsensical. I only got through two of the five or so chapters up, it was so bad. The first chapter commences with the captain of the guard listening in on a conversation between the king and queen but somehow he can still see everything they're doing, as if he's somehow omniscient.

From there we see a party where the king drinks half a cask of wine but somehow doesn't die, then wanders into a road where there are randomly some bulls (???) then a random girl saves him. To be honest I have no idea what the point of any of this is.

It's told like it's a summary of someone else's story. Chapter two didn't get any better, I still have no idea what's going on or what anyone's motivation is, and I laughed several times despite this book not intending to be funny.

Overall:

Not good.

Rating:

1/10. Not even sure it's worth a rewrite.
