What I liked about this book:

There was obviously a lot of effort put into the worldbuilding. The author seems to have a pretty clear idea of what the world she's created is like, and who lives there.

What I did NOT like about this book:

The writing was juvenile and sloppy. It had a large number of spelling and grammar errors, and the entire thing read like an outline of a book rather than a novel. There was a lot of infodumping showing me what the people in day/night are like, and plot elements kept cropping up for no reason--attacks that were never gone back to, portals that were never mentioned again, some kid. It just didn't make much sense. It looked like something I may have written when I was twelve.

This book also has the absolute least favorite thing of mine, and that's forced 'mates'. In this case the OP actually gets kidnapped by hers, which is gross. I hate this kind of trope. She then falls in love with him because of course she does. What is it with people thinking kidnapping is just oh-so-romantic?

Overall:

I didn't like this book at all.

1/10. Needs to be rewritten in its entirety. Kidnapping plots are overdone and creepy.
