Part 2
Quiet as a mouse, I followed closely behind the Professor, who moved rather fast for a man in a wheelchair. I followed him closely because he had an aura of trust about him. He liked and trusted me wheres I was unsure of the others. Wolverine especially. But that may have been due to the fact that I outmaneuvered him earlier today when I boarded the Jet.
We walked into what looked like an abandoned bus station. The lady with white hair, whose name I had found out was Aroru, pressed a lever behind the counter and a stairway appeared under the floor.
We walked into this hidden chamber under the building. Right into a cement room that had been converted into a living room, complete with sofas and a television. I plopped down onto one of the sofas, closing my eyes and enjoying the soft cushions beneath me, It had been weeks sits I'd sat in a proper sofa.
"The professor just called the rest of the team in. They will be here shortly for dinner. Are you hungry?" The Redhead named Jean asked me.
At the mention of dinner my stomach let out a humongous growl. I hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. "I guess that answers my question then. The bathroom is over there in case you you want to wash your hands." She pointed to a door on the opposite side of the room.
I dragged myself to the bathroom, after washing my hands and face I realized that I didn't exactly look my best. My suit was torn in several places on my arm from when I had jumped a barbed wire fence last night. I had bags under my eyes from lack of sleep, and my purple hair was wild and in knots. Using the last of my energy I conjured a brush and tamed the mess just slightly.
Not exactly the glamorous showgirl I used to be... I spoke to my reflection.
Somewhat presentable I stepped out of the bathroom and followed the sounds of voices and the clinking of utensils against plates. The room hushed when I entered.
"Ah Violet, come sit, I know you are hungry." The professor patted a seat beside him from the head of the table.
I sat down beside him and examined the others at the table.
"That's Kitty.." He pointed to a girl my age, with brown hair pulled back in a pony tail, who was seated beside me. "Bobby." He pointed to the teenage boy beside her. "Rouge" A girl not much older with the white streak in her hair. "Remy." He pointed to man with a glowing red tint to his brown eyes, and a goatee on his chin. "And you've already met Scott, Jean, Aroru, Logan, Hank and myself."
"Hey... Where is the elf?" Logan growled as Aroru passed me a plate piles high with steaming roast beef and mashed potatoes.
I closed my eyes and began a silent prayer, thanking God for the meal, and for keeping me alive another day.
"I am here!" A foreign voice cried, but I was in the middle of my prayer so I did not look up.
"Why do you have that thing on?" I heard kitty ask. "Why not? I do not wish to scare the guest." The German voice defended before being muffled by the sounds of food being shoved into his mouth.
Amen... I whispered to myself, opening my eyes and digging into the meal. Trying not to let my current ravenous state affect what little table manners I had left.
"And that would be Kurt." The professor pointed to a person at the other end of the table. A skinny man who looked rather average despite his shoulder length hair, which was so blue it was almost black. "Hello Fräulein." The German smiled, lifting his fork to me in an odd sort of toast.
"Hello everyone, My name is Violet, though my mutant name is Enchantment." I answered after swallowing my food.
"That's a pretty rad hair color you got there Vi, must be hell to maintain." Spoke Rouge, leaning over to see me better. "Thank you, though I only wish it were dye." I answered.
"Wow, purple hair." Said Bobby enthusiastically. "Now we have Red, Blue, White, Black, and Purple, we are one color short of the power rangers." He joked.
During the dinner I answered many questions about my powers.
"So a little like the Scarlett Witch?" Remy the mutant also known as gambit asks me as I explain my powers.
"The Scarlett who?" I ask in confusion.
"Another mutant with magic like abilities... But please, go on." Explains the professor.
I asked a few questions of my own. I soon discovered that this was a very powerful bunch of mutants. After dinner the professor told me I was to bunk with Kitty. Exhausted, I followed the girl who could walk through walls back to her room. It was bare except for 2 beds, and a dresser, which held a picture of who I assumed were her parents.
She handed me a cotton nightie and after changing, though it was only 7 in the evening, I fell into the bed, utterly exhausted.
