Aaria101

Black Hole, from CLN, had the opportunity to sit down with a wonderful author,  aaria101 She is the author of  'DELUSION OR ILLUSION?'

Hi, I'm Black Hole, your interviewer from Crazy Late Nighters

Hey!! Yeah, I remember

Hi. So, let's start with your name.

Do you want to know my real name?

What do you want your readers to call you and why? It can be your real name or your pen name. Both of them work just fine.

I would like my readers to call me Aaria because that's easy, I guess. My real name most people cannot spell it properly and it becomes quite embarrassing. Aaria is a part of my full real name just two letters short so that's not a big deal, I guess!

Oh ok. So, in the beginning would you like to give a review of your book as a reader and not a writer? What do you think about your book and how much do you rate it on a scale of five?

Okay so about my book as a reader I would say that it's different from other stories on Wattpad. It is not any type of bad boy or billionaire story and that is what I love about it. It's called DELUSION OR ILLUSION. I know what it's exactly about, but I wanted my readers to decide what it actually is a delusion or illusion.

I think my book is doing quite good, the comments I receive are so heartwarming I feel like writing more. There was a comment where one of my readers was like 'I'm so glad I'm given a chance to read this book' that was how he quoted, and I was really happy about it. When you receive such good reviews, you honestly feel like writing more and I'm glad I was exposed to a platform like Wattpad. As to rating it, I would rate it 4 because I personally feel I need to improve on typos and vocabulary.

That's very nice you want to keep improving it. So, can you tell me about the worst reaction you ever got about your book and how it affected you? Did it have any negative effects, or did it just make you even more motivated to write more?

I started writing just two months ago and till now I haven't received any bad reactions honestly. So, I don't have that experience yet. But if anything like that would happen, firstly, it would surely hurt me and would discourage me, but I'm known to bounce back after a while. Whatever it is I never take things too seriously, for some time I dwell on it, later I'm okay with it. So, I think it would depress and also motivate me to write more.

Yeah you shouldn't be discouraged by them, it's just some personal opinions. Everybody can't think the same.

Yeah, you're right!

Also do you think your book is under appreciated as of yet and you expected more from everyone or do you think it's actually over appreciated? What were your expectations about the reactions from the people?

I can't say whether it is under appreciated or over appreciated but I do know that what reaction I got was more than my expectations, and my friends say that my book deserved it. I never imagined I would make it this far, but to my surprise my book got 3 awards and that was quite surprising for me. When I started writing, I didn't have high expectations, so whatever appreciation I got, I'm thankful for that.

As of now, my book is not much exposed so once more people read it, I'll know what people's honest opinions are.

Oh, your friends liked it, that's nice.

My friends were my motivation to start writing. I always had this story on mind, and I shared it with them. After a while they encouraged me to give it a go, and that's how I'm here

Let's just say that you were a critic and you were to criticize your own book as someone else's. Then what would be your review of the book?

As a critic, I would ask for improvement in vocabulary and typos and I would demand for more insights in character's personality. Because I'm honestly working on it, and I want to improve that part.

Where did you get the idea for writing this book?

Okay! So, about this part, a few years back I was not happy with my life and I would always imagine if not like this, how my life would be, and I ended up imagining everything about my future. We all know life's no fairytale. Two years later, when I thought about it, I realized how childish that was and then I realized I can write something about this. Then I came across the disorder which is the main plotline in my book and I just penned it down!

Does that mean that you imagine the main character of your story as yourself?

Not exactly! I imagined it differently and what I wrote is a little manipulated. To some point I can relate myself but other than that it's pure fiction, a work of my imagination and nothing how I want myself to be.

So, you changed your real imagination accordingly to fit the story better

Yeah!

If you got a contract for publishing your book right now and you were provided with an editor and graphic designer, do you think that your book will become the next bestseller and if not then why? provided it's complete.

My story is not completed yet so in future if I am to get a contract and it gets published, I don't know whether my book will become the next bestseller or not and I honestly don't want to decide that. If I say it'll be the bestseller it shows my overconfidence, and if I say it may not become one it shows my lack of confidence. I always think whatever I deserve happens. So, I would leave it up to my readers to decide whether it's worth being a bestseller or not!

That's very good thinking! I also wanted to ask if there is anything other than editing which is remaining or that you see as a flaw to this book that you want to correct but haven't yet?

Yeah! My book is lacking character aesthetics and detailed character descriptions as to what they are, how their personality actually is. I have to work on it, but I just keep postponing it. So, very soon I hope to correct that.

Well that's normal I guess lol. So, what plans do you have for your book, do you want it as a single book, a duo or a trio series? Or do you want to make even longer series like Harry potter and such?

I want to keep it as a single book. Though I love my other characters and I can write spin offs, I don't want to do that. I'm not a big fan of never-ending series, so I'll just keep it a single book.

If anyone were to write fanfiction about your book, what would be your advice to them, or do you even want any fanfictions about your book in the near future?

I don't think I want any fanfictions for my book but if my fans were to make it, who am I to stop them? It's them who make me successful as a writer. So, I would not stop them and as to what advice I'll give them that depends on the situation. Because I honestly don't know how fanfictions are written and I've never read any, so my advice would depend on the situation.

Oh, you haven't read any yet? You should, they're pretty great too.

I'll read it sometime when I'm free!

Since the whole time you're writing this book, have there been any moments where you thought about dropping this novel?

Honestly speaking, there was no such time when I felt like giving up. I enjoy writing because that has been my passion for so long. So, no, I never felt like dropping it.

It's good that you really like it because many people see it as a job, and they are tired of doing it. Did you ever want to start another novel alongside this one?

Yeah, I have thoughts about starting another one, but I want to put my focus and give my best on one thing at a time. If I start another one alongside this, I won't be able to give my best to both of them. So, I might start another one after finishing the present one.

So that it won't be "postponed" like the in-depth character description you want to do lol. I've seen many authors struggle with multiple books so it's actually good that you want to focus on just one at a time.

Yeah, I want to give my best to one. As I already said writing is my passion and whatever I write I want to enjoy it and not do it as a chore.

You said that you had this idea for a long time and then started writing just recently. Who did you tell this idea of yours first to? When did you tell them about this thought and what was their reaction?

Yeah, I had this idea for a long time. I told this to my two best friends, and they happened to like it a lot. They always asked me to write it down, but I told them that it isn't that good. They kept encouraging me and finally now that we got some days off college, they motivated me to write it and I'm here today just because of them. In future if my book gets successful, I'll owe big time to them.

As for their reaction, they really loved the plot line

You have very supportive friends

Yeah and I'm lucky to have them.

Did you make your friends read the story before you published it on Wattpad or after? Were their reactions the same after reading the text just as they were when they heard your idea?

They read it after I published but they knew the main plotline already. Their reaction was completely different after reading it. Because obviously voicing your ideas and writing are two different things. When they read it, they really loved my writing style and they were like 'it's completely different and too good.' They really liked it a lot and they were quite surprised that I was able to write like a professional writer when I don't have any such experience as this is my first work.

What does your family think about your book? Do they like it too?

My family knows that I write and they're really proud of me. But they didn't read it because I didn't want them to. As for my siblings they really love my work and they want me to keep up with it!

Do you pursue writing as a career or just as a hobby? What are your thoughts about being a writer? What do you think it's like to be a full-time writer? Does that fit as your dream job?

For me writing is my hobby and it cannot be my career even if I want it to. I'm currently studying MBBS student to be a doctor so being a full-time writer is quite impossible, I feel. It does fit as my dream job. I might take up a part time job (if it exists) in the future because this is my hobby and I want to write more.

Being a writer is refreshing for me. It is something I enjoy the most. Sometimes when I feel low or when I'm too happy, I start writing. Whenever I open the page and sit, thoughts flow naturally, and I keep on writing. So, for me writing is like something I want to do in every free minute I get. Writing makes me feel relieved of my daily life, it is like an escape from reality that I really enjoy.

Being a full-time writer, I'll have to dedicate a lot of time which I don't think is possible by me and I cannot write under pressure. My thoughts flow easily when I'm anywhere but when I'm made to write as a job in which I'm obligated to write, I won't be able to enjoy it and I can't give my best to it.

You say that you write when you're too happy or too low so what other things have you written yet other than your book?

Other than this book, I didn't write anything professionally. I might have a draft of what I want to write after finishing this book...

So, you write drafts in your pastime? Does writing make you feel relaxed?

Yeah, I write drafts in pastime. Yes, writing makes me feel relaxed as I said it's refreshing. It's like a breath of fresh air to me.

Did you ever think of writing any of your personal experience and if you were to write any then what would it be?

I never thought of writing for my personal experience. If I were to write something, I would write my struggles and challenges I faced getting into a medical school because I know there are many students out there here in India who get discouraged and face many problems getting into one. I hope that my words help someone in their life.

That's very nice of you. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I cannot write without music. Whenever I write I need music playing in the background and I like being alone. And not to forget my cup of green tea with me. I honestly don't think this is interesting in any way!

lol Why do you think so it's not? If you were to give me suggestions to become a writer, then what would they be?

I don't know, I think people are obsessed with their surroundings and stuff...I just need music, being alone and I can write anywhere with my green tea.

My suggestion would be to never feel writing as a chore. I would ask you to enjoy it. When you drown in the world of writing and think like your characters when you step yourself in your shoes, writing becomes just too easy and you'll thoroughly enjoy it. Just feel your characters and think like them, don't pressurize yourself to write something. If you aren't able to come up with ideas take a break but don't dwell on it for too long as it will frustrate you and you'll give up soon. Look for some motivation around you. Or you can just watch an emotional movie and then you just get into writing mode, at least that's how it is for me.

Do you want to say something to your readers about your book? you can right now, anything, from something confusing to just a request

I would just like to thank my readers for reading my book and showing so much support. Without readers a writer is never successful, so I thank them wholeheartedly. I don't know what else to say but I'll just say I'm thankful to them and I request them to keep showing this support for my future works.

They will surely support you in future, you deserve it.

Thank you that means a lot and thank you for having this interview

At the end of this interview, I want you to thank everyone who helped you in the writing of this book and without whom this book might not even be possible today

Yeah well, thank you for giving me this opportunity and I'll try writing more in future. I would like to thank my friends for motivating me to write this book, my awesome readers for reading and promoting my work and lastly everyone who supported me throughout my journey as a writer. And also thank you to CLN club for giving me this opportunity.

Have a nice day and keep writing awesome books like this one ;)
