THREE
Finding Vine was no easy task, Lucifer knew that, but that didn't mean he didn't try his best to locate the queen of Hell on his own.
But like always, Vine was one step ahead of him with her ability to see the past, present, and future, there was no way he could take her by surprise. Well, thinking about it if she decided she wanted to be surprised then she wouldn't use her abilities. It depended on what kind of mood she was in.
LAX, his penthouse, and the shopping center's were a bust. The only thing he found was a pissed-off Maze, a messy penthouse, and too many shops.
The search wasn't going very well, and Lucifer could admit that.
He thought he knew his wife enough to guess where she could be at but their recent fight and time apart -also the fact that when they last visited the humans together they were just developing colored photos wasn't helping.
He thought about asking Maze, but after a knife was thrown too close to his manly parts for his comfort he decided it's better to leave her alone for now. The detectives were out of question, he's been avoiding them since he confirmed Vine's identity and he had no desire to explain his love life -or lack therefore- to them. Maybe if it was Chloe alone he wouldn't have been so opposed but with Douche in the mix- no. just no.
Ammanediel was another option he considered, but his stuck-up brother wouldn't be much help, if anything, he'd drive Vine away.
Lucifer could admit his circle of friends was very small and limited, but till now he had no problem achieving his goals with these people. But of course, where Vine is involved nothing is how it should be.
After hours of looking, he decided to take a break at a nearby bar, too far away, and tried to drive to his penthouse so this should do for now. The bar wasn't anything special, but it was cozy which was a welcomed surprise. It wasn't very crowded so when he sat behind the bar it was only him and another person a few stools over. despite the early hour, there were some drunk people playing pool in the far corner while some others were thrown over the bean bags -who decided to put bean bags in a bar?- and talking nonsense.
He didn't pay attention to them and instead ordered a glass of their best scotch and threw it back when he was handed the glass. it burned, but it felt good.
Now if he could just google 'How to find my wife who I haven't seen in some time and also happens to be the queen of hell?' his life could be so much easier.
But alas, life wasn't easy.
While Lucifer was brainstorming, Vine had gotten herself a cozy penthouse near the LAX, and was online shopping for clothes and anything she could find. She really should think about getting a good wifi network down in hell because now that she's experienced online shopping, how can she go back?
And if Lucifer is opposed-
Well, he doesn't really have a vote. She's been ruling hell most of the time, alone, and it's not an easy task. Too many whinny demons begging for promotion and souls asking for forgiveness and whatnot. It gets old after millennials.
After every little disagreement and fight, Lucifer would run away to the mortal world for years, only coming back when his dad sent one of his angels to annoy him into coming back, and then he would beg and grovel at her feet, asking for forgiveness and to let him back in.
Lucifer is the King of Hell, The Devil, but everyone down there knows who's the ruler of Hell, the one who gives the orders. It's not the king that runs hell, it's the queen.
Back to online shopping, She was about to order a large painting of a goat when her phone rang. she answered it as she added it t her cart, "Vine speaking, make it quick."
"I went into the throne room to give my report to our generous queen when I'm told she has taken a vacation without telling me. I was heartbroken Vine," The voice of her best friend said with mock sadness.
"Crowly, dear, you know I would've told you. But you have your head up in the Winchester's ass," She added a statue of a bee to her cart, bees are cute, "I didn't want to insult them by searching up their asses."
He laughed, "I'll be sure to come visit you this week, don't worry."
"You better, or I might have to find myself a new demon to take over the crossroads."
She hanged up, not waiting to see what he was going to say. Now, what else could she find to add to her cart?
