"Guess What, Angel?"
-Mia-
I laughed, tossing my empty bag that once had fast food in the bin. "Seriously?" I asked, and he nodded, grinning. "Yes." I shook my head, still laughing.
We stopped and he locked eyes with me. "You have a really beautiful smile," he told me and I blushed a little, looking down before meeting his eyes again. "Thanks. You too, you should do it more often," I said with a grin as we started to walk again.
I sighed, putting my hands in my pockets. "It's really cold." He shrugged, "not really." I then looked at him in surprise. "It's freezing!" He shrugged again with a grin on his face. "You're always cold."
I scoffed a little, "no, I'm not." He gave me a disbelieving look and I rolled my eyes before smiling at him.
"Hey, Mia?" He asked and we stopped again so I faced him. "Yeah?" I asked with a smile. He leaned down and I closed my eyes, preparing for a kiss but I never got one. I opened my eyes to see him walking up the street himself. I scoffed, "Vincenzo!"
He laughed and I caught up to him before stopping him and going to my tiptoes to kiss him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he did the same with my waist as he kissed my lovingly. We pulled away and gazed into each other's eyes. "That's what you should have done," I said with a smile as I went back to my feet and held his hand.
I turned to see Grace and Evie wide eyed. "Mia?"
I let go of Vincenzo's hand and said to him, "you walk back, I'll catch up." I then walked over to my friends who had shocked looks on their face and shopping bags in their hands.
"Mia, who the hell was that hottie?"
I sighed, "guys-"
"I thought you were dating James again?" Evie asked, arching her eyebrow up.
"And now somehow he's mysteriously left town?"
He left?
I sighed again, "listen, James and I broke up because he was a controlling freak to me and almost tried to take advantage of me. That 'hottie' saved me and he's my roommate. .ish. .I-I don't know about what we are to each other yet that's why I didn't say anything."
"James tried to?" Evie asked and I nodded, biting my lip. Grace licked hers, "so you lied?"
"Lied?" I asked, starting to get a little annoyed. "Why did you keep this from us, Mia?"
"Because I don't have to tell you everything that goes on in my life. Sometimes I want to keep things to myself."
"Right," Grace said, her face in disbelief. "Don't," I told her with a sigh as she rolled her eyes. "Friends tell each other stuff," Evie added, annoyed .
I rolled my eyes, "I don't have to tell you everything that goes in with me."
I sighed, running my hand through my hair, "it doesn't matter. I need to go."
Grace scoffed and I flicked my hair over my shoulder before turning and leaving.
I got home, a little tired and went upstairs to see Vincenzo laying on his bed on his phone. I sighed, walking over to him and laying down beside him, resting my head on his chest.
He chuckled softly as he scrolled through his phone. "Girl fight?" I huffed and he chuckled again and I couldn't help but smile. "They think that I have to tell them everything because we're friends and I don't!"
"Well, you've got me," he playfully said and I looked up at him before sitting up. I licked my lips and looked at him. "Vincenzo. .?" I asked and he put his phone down and gave me his full attention.
I placed my hand on his chest, looking into his eyes. "Do you. . do you ever think of making this-this thing between us official?" I didn't let him reply. "Because what's the point in it? Screw it, I'm going to say it; I like you- heck, I'm so close to loving you. I really really like you."
He gazed at me before smiling a little, "I like you too." He placed his hands on my hips and I gasped as he pulled me onto him, my legs either side of him so I was straddling his body. "And I want to be with you. Mia, will you be my girlfriend? Officially?"
I nodded, "yeah," I softly said with a smile before pulling a strand of my hair behind my ear and leaning down to kiss him softly.
We kissed for some time before I pulled away gently and gazed into his eyes. My eyes slowly went across his body. "Why do you have so many tattoos?" I asked quietly as I circled one with the top of my finger on his wrist. He shrugged a little with a smile as he watched me. "I like 'em."
I chuckled softly before he unexpectedly flipped us over so I was under him. He rubbed my leg up and down and my eyes slowly went to a tattoo on his upper arm. My hand slid up his arm and I touched it, my eyebrows creasing a little and he bit his bottom lip.
"This-This looks familiar," I murmured, my finger swirling it. "Does it?" He asked, his voice clear but with an distinct emotion I couldn't describe.
I nodded, sitting up a little to get a better look. "I just can't quite put my finger on it." He then leaned down and kissed me and I moved my hand to his cheek, kissing him back.
We then pulled away and I gazed into his hazel eyes.
I think I love him. .
Two weeks on:
I walked into the living room with a sigh and he looked at me, "What's wrong?"
I ran my hand through my hair. "I've left something at my mums house."
"Then go get it," he bluntly said and I rolled my eyes, leaning against the doorway. "I can't just 'go and get it' she's a druggie and a prostitute. I don't want to see her."
He stood, coming over to me and placing his hands on my hips and gazing into my eyes. "She's still your mother." I rolled my eyes, a little irritated. "She doesn't act like it."
He leaned down and pecked my lips. "But she still is. Come on, let's go. I'll go with you if you want." I nodded as he led me to the porch and gave me my coat. I put it on and he did the same with his. We slipped on our shoes and he took my hand, kissing it and I smiled before we left the house.
I decided to walk there as it would take longer. I really didn't want to see my mother.
"God, this is taking ages. Why didn't we take transport?" He asked and I chuckled, swinging our hands. I shrugged a little, "I told you I didn't want to see her."
We then stopped in front of the house I grew up in. I sighed, not wanting to go in. "Hey," he said softly and he lifted my chin so I was looking into his eyes. He smiled a little and brushed a few loose hairs away from my face. "It'll be alright." I nodded and he pecked my lips before we walked up the steps and I sighed, using my key to open the door.
I went in and was immediately hit by the smell of alcohol. Vincenzo coughed - not to be rude, but genuinely coughing. I wasn't surprised he did.
I exhaled before walking into the living room to see her rubbing her nose and sitting on a guy who was only wearing boxers's lap.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm just here to get something and then I'm out." She barely paid attention to be but gazed at Vincenzo. "Who's this?"
"Vincenzo, nice to meet you," he kindly said and I gave him a 'what the hell are you doing' look.
"Wanna join?" She asked pushing her chest out a little and I scoffed, looking at her in disbelief. "That's my boyfriend, you can't tempt him. Just stop preying on him and leave us alone."
I took his hand and led him upstairs and into my room. "Wow. ." He said, glancing around.
I nodded before grabbing what I needed and putting it in my pocket. "Very girly," he observed as he looked around and I rolled my eyes, "I am a girl."
He opened a drawer and took out an old bra of mine that I had left behind. My eyes widened and he chuckled, examining it. "I always knew you were C cup or something."
I gasped, snatching it from him and shoving it in the drawer before shutting it. "Let's just go."
I went downstairs and saw my mother coming out the living room herself. She glanced between us before saying, "she's a home wrecker. You two won't work out."
I felt a pang of hurt in my chest. "Don't. You're just jealous. Leave me alone." I grabbed Vincenzo's hand and led him out the house, slamming the door behind us.
I sighed, covering my eyes with my warm hand.
"Mia?"
I took my hand away and looked at him through teary eyes. His face softened and he pulled me into a loving hug where I cried a little.
He stroked my hair, kissing my forehead and letting me cry. I sniffed, wiping my tears before pulling away and sighing. "Sorry."
"No, don't be," he said before kissing my forehead again. "Come on," he quietly said as he took my hand and we walked back home.
I was in his bed, my head on his chest and my hand drawing invisible swirls on his bare and hard chest.
"V?"
"Yeah?" He responded, his voice husky and sexy. I licked my lips in the dark, sighing. "I have something to tell you."
"Go ahead," he told me although his voice sounded a little tired.
"You're tired. I'll tell you tomorrow."
"No, no," he said, clearing his throat and sitting up. He turned on the lamp and looked at me as I sat up and bit my bottom lip before leaning forward and kissing him.
"I don't know if it's too soon to tell you."
"Okay so don't tell me," he casually said before laying down and I slapped him lightly.
"Vince!" I said as he sat up with a grin before nodding, "tell me. It's okay."
I exhaled slowly, licking my lips and staring into his hazel eyes.
"I-I. .I love you."
There was a moment of silence before he smiled and said, "guess what, angel? I love you too."
