One week had passed since Adrien had discovered his father's secret, and after school Marinette and Alya began to talk.
"Hey Alya, is it just me or has Adrien been acting different this past week?" Marinette curiously asked her friend.
"Yeah, you're right he has been acting a little strange. We shouldn't worry though, it's probably nothing." Alya dismissed without question.
"But I'm not sure he's just fine." Marinette replied with concern "Am I just over thinking this?"
"I'm not sure either girl. But I am sure we both got a history assignment due tomorrow that we are suppose to work on together. You want to come over to my place so we can work on it together?" Alya suggested, diverting Marinette's mind from the topic.
"Sure, let me ask my parents first." She replied and then called her parents for confirmation, as much to her expectation, they said yes. "Looks we're heading to your house Alya"
"Then let's go girl." Alya replied cheerfully.
Meanwhile, Nino and Adrien Walt together on their way out of the school.
"So, since we're working on this assignment together, should we go to your place or my place?" Nino asked in uncertainty.
"Let me ask my father if it's okay." Adrien called his dad and asked him if Nino could come over to work on homework, and much to his surprise his father said yes. "Well, it looks like we're going to my place." Adrien finally replied.
"That's great dude."
The two best friends headed to Adrien's house, upon arrival they headed to Adrien's room to begin their history assignment.
"Okay, let's start on our assignment." Said Adrien
"Okay." Nino replied
Nino and Adrien worked on their assignment together and finished it in just under two hours.
"Finally finished. Well, I should be heading home." Nino presumed "See you tomorrow dude." Nino left with his goodbye.
Adrien said his goodbye as well "Bye Nino, see you tomorrow."
After Nino had left, Plagg came out fo his hiding place and began speaking to Adrien. "Well, that sure took awhile." he commented
"Of course it did, it's homework." Adrien retorted
"I've noticed somethings been bothering you, what is it?" Plagg asked.
"You already know what it is." Adrien replied in a saddened tone.
"Your father? I thought you were over that." Plagg replied in arrogance.
"How could I be?"
"Maybe if you tell him you know he's..you know. It'll make you feel better." Plagg proposed.
Adrien perked up a bit "Maybe you're right Plagg, I should tell him. Maybe then, I'll get some answers."
Adrien goes downstairs to talk to his dad, who is conveniently not busy with anything. Adrien knocks on the door to the atelier and silently waits for a response. "Come in." Gabriel answered with neutrality without coming to the door.
"Father, can speak with you for a moment? It's kinda important" Adrien requested.
Gabriel answered without looking up at his son "Sure you can, what is it son?"
Nervousness started come over Adrien as his words left his lips "I don't know how to say this but, I know."
Gabriel looked up at his with a serious face "What do you mean you know?" he questioned.
Adrien glances over at Nathalie than back to his father. Then tries to form his sentence. "I mean, I know you're Hawk Moth." he replied.
Slightly shocked his father responds to him "How and when did you find out?" Gabriel asked eager to learn the answer.
"About a week ago, I overheard you and Nathalie talking." Adrien replied with confidence in his answer "And no I did not tell anyone.
"So I take it that you probably also know that.." Gabriel's voice trailed off.
"That Nathalie is Mayura?" Adrien replied, finishing his father's sentence "Yes."
"Hmm, I do have a question for you Adrien." Gabriel started to invoke some serious thought to the matter "You knew who me and Nathalie were, so why didn't you tell anyone? Why not tell Ladybug or Cat Noir? his father questioned
Adrien got nervous about his father's response, Adrien responds to him frantically. "Well, I know having secret like that isn't exactly something I would want to share with everyone if it were me. Because you know gotta keep your identity a secret, that's like the first rule of being a supervillain or something. Right?"
Gabriel continued to ask questions "Adrien why are you so nervous and are you panicing?"
Adrien's nervousness was his extasy, it overtook his body and he could no longer form words and he couldn't hide it "I..um..uh." With his impaired speech it became obvious he was holding something back.
"It is obvious you're hiding something Adrien." Nathalie pointed out.
"Nathalie is right, now what's the real answer?" Gabriel with a strict tone.
Adrien managed to pull himself together "I guess I can't hide this from you forever." He began "So here goes nothing. The real reason is I..I am Cat Noir.
Gabriel and Nathalie were shocked to hear what Adrien had just said and the room stood silent.
Gabriel's response was monotonous "So, you're Cat Noir." "Yes, I.." Adrien began but was interrupted as he saw Plagg fly out from Adrien's jacket and started to talk.
"What was that?!" Plagg shouted "I insisted that you tell your father you know he's Hawk Moth. Not reveal your identity! "Oh my father's a supervillain, so I'm going to tell him I'm secretly his arch-enemy".Seriously, who does that?"
"You do know he's standing right there." Adrien pointed out.
"Of course I do. What do you think I am, blind?"
"Well, that answers that." Gabriel replied
"Ignore Plagg" Adrien suggested "he can be a bit arrogant sometimes."
Gabriel glares at the kwami. "I see your kwami likes to speak it's mind."
"Why, thank you for noticing. Wait, was that a compliment or an insult?"
"Adrien, I believe we are done talking about this." Said Gabriel.
Adrien leaves the room without another word.
