I wince as Captain throws me into a rock again. His hand had a tight grip on my neck. I try to push him off with my feet but he's stronger than I had remembered. He throws me. I almost fall into the pit if I didn't slam my hand into it. I pick up my spear. He charges at me. I charge. Our spears slam again. He was strong. I slam it into his side, but his spear blocks it.

I cannot fail. I hear the creatures' growls and their cries. Amma cheers me. I do not need cheering. I turn my eye. I see the human I saved freeing the others. I let out a sigh of relief. I can now focus on freeing the captain. He pushes me to the ground. I don't have time to react when he slams his spear into my shoulder. I wince and almost choke out a scream, but I stifle it. 

My blood spills into the pit. I hear the rumbling. Oh crap. I have to make this quick. I take up my spear and slam it into the captain's shoulder as well. He lets out a scream. The vile starts covering him. He jumps off of me and looks to be withering in agony as it covers him completely. He falls to the ground.

"Captain?" I ask standing up.

He doesn't move. A sense of worry floods over me. Is he even alive? I see it being absorbed. Did it work. Oh please... oh please... let it work. He hisses and gasps but eventually his eyes open. They look normal. He stands up.

"Captain?" I ask.

"You... you saved me." He says.

I let out a sigh of relief. I rip the spear out.

"Thank you." He says.

I was going to say something but unfortunately, I hear the ground tremble. I fall down again. The beast crawls out from the darkness. It still is as terrifying as I remember. Its wings expand. It roars at us.

"I assume you have a plan." Captain helps me up.

"Survive seems like a good plan." I say.
