The others walk out of there huts. They look at me. Some old. Some young. They look like they have never seen blood. They look like they have never seen the fires of war. They look frail, but blissful. Tuh takes my hand and starts leading me to them.

"These are my sisters and brothers." She says.

"Hi." I gasp out.

"We are grateful for your heroism." One bows his head.

"I thank you for saving my life." I say.

I hear a horn blow. I look up. An old woman walks outside her house. She looks frail. Her skin wrinkled. Her eyes had this milky shine to them. She had a staff made with wood adorn with feathers and pearl like things. She slides down and looks at me. Though, truth be told she just happened upon where I was standing.

"This is Amaka. Our elder and the wisest." Tuh says.

I lower my head in respect.

"It is an honor to meet you elder Amaka." I say.

"You have a heart soldier. I thank you for saving our infant brother." She says.

I nod. She raises her staff at me. Her eyes had this glow. My eyes widen. I draw back.
