uwu don't worry about me! i'm all good, it's just the time i wake up and sleep doesn't sound right lmao

i wake up at night and sleep at morning because my brain functions more during night and i have no idea whYyy ;-;

but yeah, i've been getting more sleep than i usually do these days so no need to worry (˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

like... its 11 pm and i'm eating cereal–

         MIN JAEYOUNG

my eyelids dipped close as i laid my head back on the backrest. feeling a bit exhausted, i kept my eyes closed, trying to ease off my mind a bit.

this examination week is going to be the end of me.

a gush of wind blew past threw the window, the cold air grazing my skin. winter is coming.

i shot my eyes open, sitting straight back up to stare down at my reviewer. "why does math have to be so difficult." i mutter, remembering everything that doyoung told me as he tutored me.

a chuckle left my lips as i thought about the bunny. "you seem a bit happy for the first day of exams." i jolted up from my seat, my friend taking the desk next to me.

with my shoulders slumped forward, a pout was visible on my lips. shaking my head i replied, "no way. i just thought of... something."

miyeon hummed, "how are you?"

i scrunched my nose. she's at it again with her questions. i don't know why but recently she's been bombarding me a lot with such concerning questions.

nodding my head slowly to the soft beat of music playing from our classmate's phone, "i'm doing great."

"so, what would you be doing for efflorescence season? like... it's going to be your eighteenth birthday."

with my face twisting in confusion, i tilted my head, "eighteenth? mi, i'm just turning seventeen."

miyeon flinched in her spot, eyes widening. a hand went over her lips, "i said that?"

i chuckled and ruffled her hair, "yes, silly!"

miyeon frowned, "sorry, i meant seventeenth birthday... i must've mixed it up."

i laughed and nodded, "too excited for our history exam huh?"

she let out a slowly chuckle, "i don't quite get your joke..."

"isn't princess haera turning eighteen this year?"

miyeon suddenly choked making me pat her back, rubbing it as i eyed her; worried, "hey, are you okay?"

she flinched upon my words, lightly swatting away my hand. "i am. let's just– review well..." she muttered and scooted away a bit, now focusing down onto her notes.

i pouted but nodded anyways. minutes passed and it was already time to start our exam. today's exam was literature and math, i guess my brain could handle it a bit.

there were some part i didn't get in literature but i tried to analyze the questions hard, even connecting them sometimes with the situations jungwoo and jaehyun gave me. as for the math section, my brain was going to die for sure.

i did my best to answer them neatly and surely, knowing that it would be such a waste if i wasn't able to get anything right.

after the examinations, i let out a sigh of relief, standing up to do some stretches. "jeez, that was hard." miyeon told me as we began fixing our things.

slinging my back pack over my shoulder, i looked over at miyeon, "do you want to get some tteok today?" i asked, a soft smile on my lips.

she frowned, "j-jaeyoung... i'm sorry, but let's get tteok tomorrow instead?"

saddened by the rejection i nodded, understanding that maybe she had something come up today.

"okay..." i mumbled, "is there something wrong?" i mustered up all my courage to ask her, knowing deeply that something was definitely wrong.

"nothing... just– my parents– we need to talk later." she explained briefly, tugging on her backpack's strap.

i chuckled dryly, "i understand. i hope everything goes well for you, let's go?" i said and walked towards the doorway. she nodded and we went out.

the way out seemed like forever, especially with this silent atmosphere between us. i pressed my lips together, contemplating whether to break the ice or not.

i sighed and reached out to her, but the she walked away, leaving me dumbfounded. retracting my head, i looked up to see her around ten feet away from me. "i'll see you tomorrow, injae! i promise you tteok tomorrow too so don't get upset please."

i laughed as a smile crept up my face. "okay, i'll see you tomorrow!"

she waved goodbye and entered her family car. i bit my bottom lip and started walking. "what's up with her?" i sighed and passed through the gates, that's when i noticed a black car parked just a few tiny walks away.

a boy was leaning back against the car, head lowered as he talked to the man in a black suit next to him.

"mark...?" i mumbled and called his name.

the boy flinched, looking up, "you recognized me?" he said with wide eyes.

i nodded with a small smile. "what are you doing here?" i tilt my head, approaching him.

"i wanted to see you, actually." he mumbled shyly, a soft pink blush dusting his cheeks and i noticed it right away.

scrunching my nose up i lightly poked his cheeks, "that's cute."

mark lets out a small laugh pushing himself off the car, "may i take you on a ride, princess?" he offers with a grin, opening the car door for me.

i rolled my eyes playfully, "i'm not a princess but you may."

"you're my princess though." he said nonchalantly as he slid next to me, letting the man close the door.

"what do you have for the rest of the day?" he questions.

i shake my head, "nothing... i was supposed to get tteok with miyeon, but she told me that we should go tomorrow instead."

mark nodded, "can i take you to the park?"

i hummed, "sounds nice."

he smiled, "to the park it is."

the ride mainly consisted of mark and i talking about prince, since his love for prince is more than what you'd expect.

we got off the car and mark ran towards the park making me chuckle at his cute behavior. i took a seat on one of the benches, watching mark as he talked to a bunch of kids.

suddenly, a kid ran up to me, "noona! are you a princess?"

shocked, my mouth was left hanging open as i stared down at the cute boy. i chuckled, shaking me head, "i'm not a princess.." i said and patted his head.

the little girl beside him pouted, "but you're so pretty, unnie! like a princess!"

"isn't she?" i shot my head up to narrow my eyes at mark who plainly smirked, shrugging his shoulders.

the little girl nodded, "yes!"

"prince mark!" the little boy exclaimed with a big smile, "is she your girlfriend?"

my body froze at the kid's question, a blush spread wide on my cheeks, mirroring mark's.

mark laughed awkwardly at the little kid, picking him up easily, "no~ but, she's my princess though."

i avoided his gaze, looking down at the little girl instead who seemed to stare at me in awe. "what's your name, unnie?" she tilts her head as i helped her sit next to me.

"jaeyoung."

she hugs my arm, "i'm sora, you're prince mark's pretty princess."

with the kids around, we really had a hard time looking at each other. eventually, their parents arrived, in shock rather after seeing mark. they bowed to him and held a simple conversation before thanking us and leaving.

mark leaned back on the bench's backrest, "wasn't that fun?"

i giggled, "yup."

"let's take you home then, my pretty princess."

"minhyung shut up."

he pouted, "it suits you!"

"no!" i whined as we walked back to the car; bantering nonstop.

"let's just go home." i puffed my cheeks out, walking away when mark suddenly engulfed me in a hug, whispering closely,

"you are home."
