3RD PERSONS VIEW

"there's so many people..." mark gawked as they got escorted through the back door as there were too many students by the front hallway.

"where are we going?" chenle questioned as they now entered the school through the back door. there weren't much students there, only staffs and some performers that were preparing for the opening of the tournament.

"ah! the royal family!" the princes stopped as minseok came halted in front of a man. he seemed like a man around his forties. he wore a black suit as he wore his spectacles as usual.

"good afternoon, mr. song." minseok greeted with a soft smile before stepping aside to reveal the princes.

"your royal highness!" mr. song said as he bowed down to the eight boys.

"you have very lovely school, mr. song." taeil complimented as he scanned the area.

mr. song thanked his compliment and immediately called two students. "i'm going to introduce you to our emcee's for today's tournament!"

"this is jung miyeon and yang jeongin." mr. song said as the two students bowed down to the princes in front of them.

miyeon did her best to contain the overwhelming happiness she had inside of her. two of them are here, my plan would work. she thought to her self as she raised her head.

"it's nice to see you here, lady miyeon." jungwoo uttered.

since miyeon's family is on business terms with the royal family, it was normal for them to recognize miyeon.

miyeon was quite shocked to hear that, she never once heard them talk to her. they would always pass by each other in the hallways of the palace whenever the jung's were invited for a meeting, but this was new.

miyeon was also aware that the prince's of heflorescence have a hard time with communicating with girls in particular. she even remembers the time one of the boys would lash out on a girl in meetings when that girl is being annoying.

that's why when she saw jaeyoung talking to a prince, she was frightened for jaeyoung. but somehow, it took a different turn.

"we wish you both good luck with the program." taeyong said before minseok escorted them to the balcony.

"woah!" jisung and chenle were astonished. "this is so cool!" both said at the same time as they ran towards the railing, seeing literally everything from their position.

"isn't this cool?" taeyong chuckled, happy to see the youngest excited.

jisung and chenle looked at their hyung and nodded eagerly, "i've never attended something like this before! we always watch boring things– this is so fun!" jisung said as he took a seat beside chenle.

taeyong smiled and patted the top of their heads, "glad you're liking this."

chenle and jisung stiffened when they felt taeyong's hand on top of their heads. it's been so long since he last done that to them. ever since the huge fight happened between them, the older ones have been more distant and strict.

jisung's eyes glowed as he couldn't feel more happy. he felt ecstatic to see taeyong going back to his old self, maybe because of what i told him? i hope so.

jungwoo stood up from his seat, earning a look from doyoung. "where are you going?"

jungwoo hummed, "to the restroom."

doyoung nodded, "okay, be careful."

jungwoo stifled a laugh, "of course i will."

meanwhile, jaeyoung happened to be the only one in the classroom. she was still reading that book of hers that she had failed to notice the time. that was when her phone started ringing, indicating for a phone call.

jaeyoung snapped out of her reading trance and fished out her phone from her jacket's pocket.

"hello—"

"don't 'hello' me min jaeyoung!" jaeyoung flinched at miyeon's hollering voice.

"where are you!? the programs about to start!"

jaeyoung laughed at this and shot a look at her wristwatch, "i guess i got too focused on my book."

a whine was heard from the other side of the line, "come here! i need my best friend to accompany me."

jaeyoung hummed, "mhm, alright alright, i'll be there just in time, don't worry."

"you better be!" miyeon exclaims.

"miyeon, get ready in ten!" jaeyoung heard someone say from the background.

"seems like you have to go now, i'll be there miyeon, don't worry."

"okay, hurry up." miyeon said before dropping the call.

jaeyoung shook her head and stood up from her seat. she placed her book inside her bag before leaving the classroom, not forgetting to turn the light off.

she made her way to her locker, opening it quickly just to store the books she didn't need to bring home. there weren't really any requirements since they had a program for the rest of the week.

as she was busy fixing her things, she didn't notice a guy walking up to her.

"um, excuse me... i'm sorry but could you please show me where the restroom is?" a faint voice asked her politely as a hand poked her shoulder, this action made the girl flinch and nearly drop her book.

jaeyoung sighed and turned to her side to face whoever the owner of the voice was. to her shock, it was the same boy she met a yesterday and the day before.

"we meet again!" the boy's eyes brightened as he smiled at the girl.

"jungwoo... that's your name right?" jaeyoung tilts her head.

jungwoo nodded as a smile crept up his face, "you remember me again, that's nice. i didn't know you go to this school."

jaeyoung smiled sheepishly, "yeah, i actually do."

"the restroom is just straight ahead, after passing a few classrooms you'll see a sign." jaeyoung informed him as she gripped tightly on her favorite book.

jungwoo nodded in acknowledgment before his eyes landed on the book on her hand, "you read that too?"

she furrowed her brows before looking at his finger which pointed at her book. she grinned before stuffing it in her bag after reorganizing it. "yeah, it's my favorite."

"a lot of my brothers love that book, too!"

jaeyoung was about to say something when her eyes noticed the time, shit, miyeon. she remembered.

"i actually have to go now, i guess i'll see you around?"

jungwoo pressed his lips into a thin line and nodded curtly, "i guess so."

the girl waved him goodbye before running off. jungwoo watched as the girl disappeared from his sight. "what is fate's game now?"

taking a sharp left, she sprinted towards the school's indoor gymnasium, she managed to pass through and get inside the backstage.

"where's the stairs to the top view?" she questioned one of the students who worked in the audio crew.

the student pointed towards the stairs, "over there."

jaeyoung smiled, "thank you!" she said before running off.

as soon as she arrived at the top view, she took a breather. running was definitely something that jaeyoung didn't enjoy doing. but then again, it was for miyeon, so she had face the fact she needed to run.

"oh? lady jaeyoung!"

lady...jaeyoung?

she furrowed her brows at the name and shot her head up, surprised to see a familiar guy in front of her. i've seen him before... he defended me from jihye.

what was his name again? j..jo..

"i'm joshua! don't you remember?"

joshua! right! she said in her mind before giving the man a smile.

"what are you doing here?" jaeyoung mumbled.

"i'm here as a guard and chenle's here as well." joshua answered her question.

jaeyoung's eyes widened, "he is? that's nice to hear."

"i'll let you meet him later!"

"that's cool! i'll talk to you both later, i'm actually here for a friend." jaeyoung said before pointing at the control booth room.

joshua's mouth went agape, "ahh, i see, i'll see you then."

jaeyoung nodded before walking in the control booth, greeting a fellow student before taking a seat on the mini couch at the back of the emcee's.

"finally!" miyeon exclaimed as she turned around in her swivel chair, facing her friend with a wide grin.

"you look exhausted." miyeon commented.

"because i am." jaeyoung murmured and snatched miyeon's water bottle.

"don't worry, jae. the fun has yet to start!"

jaeyoung was confused by what miyeon meant but didn't bother to even question what it did mean. she watched as miyeon and a fellow classmate of them, jeongin, start the program.
