Fáfnir's revenge - Part 2 - Flóki-ish x Reader

The sons of Ragnar looked at one another in disbelief. Was this woman out of her mind? If they had not seen what they had seen, they would certainly think so. They all knew the stories of Fáfnir; that unlike Jormungandr and Nidhogg, Fáfnir had not been born a dragon. That he had, in fact, been the son of the rich dwarf king, Hreiðmarr. But out of greed, out of a curse, he had killed his father, taking Hreiðmarr golden hoard into a forest, where he had slowly taken the form of a dragon, so that he could better protect his gold; yet none of the young men had ever heard of a daughter. And most certainly not a daughter like this. Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd and Ivar wondering if a certain boatbuilder might have an insight into this, might know what they could do to appease this daughter of dragons. Yet strangely, Flóki was nowhere to be seen.

Silently they watched, as the smiling woman moved towards the remains of a tumbled down and blackened building. Taking a seat on the rubble, as if she were sitting on a throne. A queen surveying her people. Yet this was no benevolent monarch; this was a queen that seemed to be determined to bring nothing but death.

"(Y/N).........!" A voice called out. The inhabitants of Kattegat turning to see that it had been Flóki that had spoken. People parting, as the boat builder moved forward; his head lowered as he approached the woman. The child of Fáfnir slowly rising from her seat and making her way over the blackened stones, until she and the boatbuilder stood before one another. (Y/n) sniffing at the air and growling.

"Loki................." She hissed, as she placed her hand under the man's chin so that she could raise his face.

"What strange Midgardians you can become. Why are you here? Are you foolish enough to think that I have forgotten what you did to my uncle Ótr for little more than his pelt. Do you think that I have forgotten that it was you that put the curse on the treasure that you gave as compensation for his death? That because of you, my grandfather, my father are dead...........perhaps I should kill this........this creature of yours, before I slay the line of Sigurd. Or maybe I should make you watch me burn them........burn all of them............" The female dragon growled. Her anger growing as the man before her smiled.

"It is so nice to see you again too, (Y/n)." A voice replied, a voice that was not of the boatbuilder. An oh too familiar smile pulling at the mortal lips. All the Midgardians that had amassed around the scene, becoming motionless, as a glint flashed in the strange man's eyes.

"How were you allowed to come here...............?"

"Allowed? I do not look to others to allow me to do anything. Unlike Jormungandr, I am not your child; so, neither you, nor Odin, nor anyone else can tell me what to do. So, why don't you leave now, trickster, before I burn you, like I am going to burn the line of Sigurd............" The daughter of Fáfnir hissed. A fire burning in her eyes, as the disguised god, chuckled to himself.

"I would have expected more of you, (Y/n)........." The god began, as he slowly moved around her, looking the female dragon up and down.

"If you are looking for revenge, I would have thought that you would want something a little longer lasting. Something that would show Sigurd the Elder, that just because he had killed your father, he could not kill his line. In fact, his own line has assisted in continuing the line of Fáfnir..................."

"Will you stop talking..........! Your constant scheming makes my head hurt and only gives me more desire to burn this whole place to the ground..........." The dragon interrupted, rolling her eyes at the grinning man.

"But burning.........it is over too quickly. They would be dead before they felt the pain. And that is what you want them to feel, isn't it...........? Pain. That, and punish Odin too; after all, it was the allfather that told Sigurd to kill your father in the first place. And those that you wish to destroy, are also of the line of Odin........." The god mussed. (Y/n) hating herself, as she knew that she would have to ask the god to tell her more. This not the first time that the dragon had dealt with the trickster. This not the first time that he had managed to save his own neck, from her ire.

"Fine. Have it your way. Why don't you tell me how I can make these Midgardians really suffer................?" (Y/n) asked, as she made her way back to her makeshift throne and took a seat. Resting her head on her fist, as she waited for Loki's usual machinations.

"Marry one of them............."

"What............?" (Y/n) countered in disbelief; almost jumping from her seat.

"Have you finally lost your mind............?"

"Not quiet yet............" The god chuckled back; before moving closer to her.

"Think of it, (Y/n). The daughter of Fáfnir married to one of the grandsons of Sigurd. A marriage that you can use to continue your line. Use to have children that would not only be dragons, but would also be of Odin's line.............."

"And which one of them do you suggest..............?" (Y/n) scoffed, as she continued to stare at the smirking man.

"Whomever you wish. And if you wish it to be the cripple, I will make sure that his...........problems, do not exist when it comes to you. That he will be able to produce like any other man.............."

She didn't like it. She didn't like it at all; but the trickster had a point. It would be the ultimate revenge against Sigurd for the death of her father; one of his own grandsons helping her continue his line.

"Fine..........." She finally replied, as she once again rose from her seat.

"But none of them would accept me now. Not after what I have done. Not after all this.............." (Y/n) continued, as she looked at the devastation that she had caused.

"Leave all that to me, (Y/n). All you need to do is play your part..........." The disguised Loki told her, a chuckle leaving his lips, as he held out her hand and led her through the still inanimate crowd.

"This still does not mean that I trust you, Loki............."

"Of course not, (Y/n). I wouldn't expect you to............"
