Late

He kissed her quickly on the lips as he rushed out the door.

The alarm had not gone off and he was surely going to be late.

She watched as he pulled from the driveway.

She poured a coffee and was about to sit in the living room,

when she heard the car pull back into the driveway.

She watched as he slowly walked back to the house.

She met him at the door.

“Did you forget something?”

He put his hands on her cheeks and kissed her gently.

“I forgot to say, I love you.”
