11 | reauditions

"How'd it go?" Jade asked me as I walked out of the Black Box. She was waiting outside for me with Beck, and his arm was draped over her shoulder.

"Good, I think."

"What song did you end up singing?" She asked.

"Just a Taylor Swift one." I lied, I didn't really know how to tell her that I sang an original song I wrote about her boyfriend.

"How did your guys' auditions go?"

"Good," Beck said. We hadn't talked since last night, in fact, I don't think we'd seen each other at all. We didn't have any classes together today.

"I think Helen really liked my short film, and Sikowitz couldn't even finish watching it. Thanks for helping me film it." Jade said.

"No problem."

"How was your walk home? If I knew that it was gonna rain, I would've offered you a ride."

"Don't worry about it, a little rain never hurt anyone." I looked at Beck for a second. He didn't tell Jade about driving me home, so I guess that's another thing that we're adding to our growing list of secrets. "I should get going, my aunt's waiting for me in the car." I said, trying to change the subject and get away from this conversation.

"You going home?" Beck asked, and we both knew he was referring to what I said last night.

"Not yet." He gave me a slight smile and a nod. As much as I wanted to be and wished I was, I wasn't done with LA just yet. Plus, the sunshine all year round was a nice change from the Canadian winters back home.

We all passed the reauditions, except for Tori. We gathered at her locker and watched her clean it out. Beck decided that we had to fight for Tori to stay and talk to Helen. We bumped into her in the hall and it turns out they mixed up Tori and Trina's names. "Wait, you can't kick Trina out of Hollywood Arts, right, guys?" Tori asked turning to us, but we all bit our tongues.

"What was the question?" Andre asked, and I tried not to laugh. He always had funny reactions and one-line responses.

"Alright, I'll tell her, she should hear it from me. But, I don't want to be alone when I-" We all quickly ran away.

"Sorry, Tori!" I yelled while I ran.

"Hey, Liv," Andre said after we stopped running. "Would you maybe want to go to Karaoke Dokie tonight? With me- just the two of us."

"Sure!" I said laughing.

"Great, I'll pick you up at 7. By the way, I was asking you out." He said.

"Yeah, I got that."

"A'ight, see you at 7."

"I'll text you my address." I replied.

"Oh, right. Good idea." He said and walked away. I couldn't help but laugh to myself. He was acting like a bumbling idiot, but a cute one.

As soon as I got home I struggled to find an outfit to wear tonight. How do I have so many clothes, but no outfits? I decided on a cute black skirt, with a white tank top and black knee-high boots. I finished curling my hair and putting on my makeup just in time. The intercom buzzed, Andre was here. I pushed the button by the speaker. "Coming!" I said.

"You're leaving? See you later, sweetie, have fun." My aunt yelled from her room. She was getting ready for her night shift at the hospital. I practically skipped down the stairs, we lived on the second floor so I rarely took the elevator.

"Hey, hey." I said, opening the front door of the building.

"Wow..." Andre said and I did a little spin.

"Thank you." I said laughing, and he opened the passenger door. "Thank you again."

"You're welcome." The car ride was fun, we listened to a lot of good songs and sang to them when we weren't talking. We got to Karaoke Dokie and he told me to wait so he could open my door for me and I laughed at him. We sat down at a table, and I immediately reached for a menu.

"Do you want to share an appetizer? I'm starving."

"Sure, you want some hot wings?"

"Ooh, yes! And then I'm getting a burger, they're so good here."

"I was thinking the same thing." Our food came, and we were having a good time talking and eating. Andre was trying to convince me to sing a song when Beck walked in and caught my eye. He sat at a table on the other side of the room, almost directly across from me. Jade came in soon after and sat in front of him. Out of all of the restaurants they could've gone to they had to choose this one? Just my luck.

"You know what, you're right. But, I'm only singing if you do a duet with me."

"Can I pick the song?"

"Sure." I said and Andre smirked. He ran over to the DJ booth and brought a microphone over to me. We finished the song, and our food and ran into Beck and Jade on our way out.

"Oh, hey, guys." Andre said. I guess he hadn't noticed them this whole time, I don't know how though, especially when we were on stage. Although come to think of it, I don't think Andre's taken his eyes off of me this whole time.

"Hey." Beck said.

"What are you two doing here?" Jade asked.

"Date night." Andre said.

"Us too." She replied.

"Well, have fun you two." Jade said, with a smirk, and we left. Was that as awkward for everyone else as it was for me? Probably not, but maybe for Beck.

"Tonight was fun." I said, unlocking the building door.

"Yeah, it was."

"Um, I know it's a little early to have the exes chat. But, my last relationship didn't really end well, and I'm still not fully over everything that happened. Things got really bad for a while, and it's the reason why I came to LA. I really like the friendship we have going and I don't want to complicate or ruin that."

"I understand. But, Liv, just so you know, I really like you and I'm willing to wait for things to change." He said and I gave him a half smile.

     "Goodnight, Andre."

"Goodnight, Liv." He said and I closed the door, locked it and went to my room.
