Bree's POV

I couldn't believe what Adam just said. At first I thought he was kidding. But Adam wouldn't be this serious if he was. I just started into blank space trying to process what my brother just told me.

If I couldn't walk again, who would I be? Running IS my identity. It's my everything! If I wouldn't be able to walk again, I'd be obsolete to the team! All of a sudden I became very dizzy, and my eyes slowly closed.

Adam's POV

"They're going to do everything they can to help you and-"

Well how rude of Bree! She just fell asleep while I was talking. I mean, I understand when she does that to Chase, but..

"Hey Adam!" Oliver greeted. "Just here to refill Bree's IV. How's she taking the news?"

"She fell asleep on me. I guess she just didn't want to believe it."

"What?" Oliver yelled. He ran over to her IV and checked it.

"Ugh it's leaking again! I told Solar Flare to stop using hospital equipment for shooting practice! I hope there's nothing wrong with her."

He quickly refilled Bree's IV and she fluttered her eyelids open.

"You're cute doctor" she slurred out.

I ran over to check her vitals.

"What's the matter?" Oliver asked me.

"There's definitely something wrong with her!"

Oliver sighed and left the room. I talked with Bree for a while to keep her company but half the time she made no sense. I hoped that they would be able to fix Bree. And soon.

Chase's POV

"Clear!" Skylar yelled. Katie's body jerked off the bed from the electric shock. Skylar threw the transponders down onto the ground.

"The transponders ran out of energy. We won't be able to use it for ten more minutes. It's over. Sorry, Chase."

Just as she said that I heard beeping again. She wasn't flatlining anymore! I smiled from ear to ear as her heart rate began to stabilize. I ran over to Skylar and hugged her super tight.

"Thank you so much! You saved her life" I choked as tears of joy streamed down my face. "If you ever need anything it's yours." I continued hugging her and I squeezed with all my strength.

"Apple! Apple!" She wheezed.

"You want an Apple? There's apples in the break room."

"No, apple's the word on Caldera for asphyxiating."

"Oh!" I quickly let go and she took in a much need breath of air.

"You're welcome Chase. That's what friends are for."

"Hey guys" a familiar voice croaked.

Kaz checked on her vitals and smiled. "She's going to be fine"
