Chapter 15
Back with yet another chapter. I wonder what happens now...

He didn't know how or when he'd ended up in the cave but he did know that when he woke up, he was safe and warm. The last thing he remembered was the avalanche and himself pulling (y/n) towards the edge of the mountain in an attempt to save them both. He was met with the delight and relief of seeing (y/n) right across from him sleeping soundly with a heavy blanket covering her. He reached out a hand to wake her just so he could hear for himself that she was okay but he stopped when his attention was taken by a familiar voice that he didn't necessarily miss.
"The least you could have done was thank us for saving your lives before you worry about her. She's fine," Crystal spoke. Silver sat up and met her gaze as she and Gold sat a short distance away. They had been out of his sight from where he was so he hadn't noticed them. "Shut up Crystal. Now is not the time," Gild growled. He was clearly not in a good mood and Crystal was probably in a bad mood as well. "You saved us?" Silver repeated as he pulled the blanket further around him. It had slipped too low and he had begun to feel the unwelcoming cold.
"Yeah. We were headed up here because its where some legendary pokémon trainer was rumored to live. He apparently defeated Mewtwo once and claimed the title as champion in this region. Considering you two were up here, you guys must already know what's going on with your sister nd (y/n) supposed brother," Gold explained. He stared down at the cave floor slightly shaking from the cold. He was the only one without a blanket with Crystal sitting not very far away seeming rather comfortable.
"We only had enough food and blankets for the two of us. We won't last very long with you two here too. We were supposed to find you after we found this trainer," Crystal muttered. Silver knew that it was Red that they were looking for but he had nearly forgotten that they had accompanied him and (y/n) on their trip so he hadn't even thought that they would be seeking Red's help. "How long have you guys been looking for him? Do you know how to get to where he is?" Silver asked.
Gold sighed and kept silent while Crystal simoly avoided his gaze. It was a question they clearly didn't want to answer. "An Ursaring is how we found you two. It's a miracle you two aren't dead. She was a mother with her cubs and it seemed like she thought the two of you were her own. It took forever to separate her from you two. I'm glad you guys are alright now though," Gold said. There were slight traces of a faint smile on his face but it instantly disappeared when he sneezed.
"Gold, don't you need this," Silver pointed out as he tugged at the blanket around his own shoulders. It was clear that Gold had gone without one for quite some time and was feeling the full affects of the cold. "You almost froze to death. I'm sure I don't need that more than you," Gold said before promptly sneezing again. Silver slightly frowned at his stubbornness but he decided not to argue with him for the time being. "You say an Ursaring saved us? Was it someone's pokémon?" Silver inquired.
He didn't quite understand why the wild pokémon had saved them. He knew (y/n) hadn't said anything before they were attacked by the snow and he knew that she couldn't telepathically communicate with wild pokémon so it confused him. "Yeah...she warmed you right up and kept the both of you safe even at her own cost. Never seen anything like it," Gold said as he pulled his knees to himself and rubbed his arms to warm himself up.
"That sounds like a really well thought out excuse if you ask me," (y/n) said. Her voice startled them for none of them had realized that she was awake. Apparently she had been listening for a good bit of time. "Yeah, you're welcome. We saved your lives," Crystal muttered. (Y/n) shot her a glare but said nothing to her as she also sat up to face Gold and Crystal. "There was no Ursaring was there. You're the one that dug us out aren't you. You're just too embarrassed to admit it," (y/n) spoke as she looked around.
Gold kept silent only glancing in their direction a few times. Silver wasn't sure who was correct but he was still very grateful to Gold for saving his and (y/n)'s lives. The only problem was that Red and Yellow were missing and they were the only two that actually knew where they were going. "We're lost. We've been lost for the past week and we're running low on food. We thought we were going to die out here," Crystal suddenly said. Her eyes seemed distant as she looked out towards the cave exit.
"I'm sorry this happened to you guys. I wish we've have found you sooner. We can't stay here though. I'm sure Red and Yellow are making their way to the top of this mountain even now. We can meet them there somehow..." (y/n) said but Silver could hear the doubt in her voice. He didn't have to ask nor did he want to ask if she was absolutely sure that Red and Yellow were okay.
"Red? Yellow? I know who Yellow is but who is Red and why were you with Yellow? She was on Green's side. You do know that your sister wants to kill us right? She has that pokémon Mewtwo with her and it took over Yellow's mind and this other guy named Blue too. The only reason we got away is because Crystal ran off after I said something to her about you two being lost," Gold said with alarm. There was a sudden tension in the area but all was well since Silver could now confirm that neither Gold nor Crystal were being controled by Mewtwo.
"Red is the trainer who lives at the top of this mountain. He saved us from Mewtwo and has been with us ever since up until recently. We got separated from him and don't know where he is right now," (y/n) explained. Gold seemed to understand what she unintentionally implied and his state only got worse. "So you knew him. We've got to get to the top of this mountain then," he muttered.
"What's the point? We've managed to save Johto twice but we're in way over our heads this time. Someone else could die if not all of us this time. How are we supposed to stop a pokémon like Mewtwo? How are we supoosed to even escape a place like this?" Crystal whimpered. She seemed fine just a moment ago. "Crystal, this is not the time for that. I told you already..." Gold said but Crystal cut him off.
"Told me what?! That you don't know what else can be done? Did you tell me that you wish you'd never caused this? I'm sorry, I was too busy listening to the rest of your pessimistic remarks. You're to proud to admit anything! We're have nothing else! We're cut off from the rest of civilization right now, Gold!" Crystal shouted. Gold flinched and lowered his head not having anything to say to Crystal's outburst. "Gold...this isn't your fault and Crystal, we aren't going to die. Please call down," (y/n) said. Gold shook his head though and looked over at them with tears lining his eyes.
"What the heck am I supposed to do then? What am I supoosed to believe? Crystal is actually right this time. We have no legitimate plan and we're out of options," he said. Silver hadn't seen Gold cry in almost two years and it was hurtful now just as much as it was then. "We found blood one our way back. If that person that you wrre with, Red, was actually separated from you, then he's probably already dead by now," Crystal muttered. "Don't say that! Red would never die!" (y/n) snapped.
"You don't actually know him. How could you be so certain? If anything, he probably froze to death," Crystal said. Silver could tell that (y/n) was about to snap at her again but he knew now wasn't the best time for that. They were at their wits end and he needed to hold them together or else he himself would lose it. He put a hand on (y/n)'s shoulder and shook his head at her. Then he stood and walked over to Gold before draping the blanket over his shoulders.
"Silver, I said I didn't need it," Gold muttered and shrugged the blanket off but Silver picked it back up amd pulled it over his shoulders again. This time he sat in front of him amd held the blanket together to prevent Gold from removing it. "Stop worrying. It doesn't suit you," Silver said. Gold looked away from him with a few of his tears silently falling but he didn't try taking the blanket off anymore so Silver let go of it.
Judging from the light leaking into the cave, it was around midday but Silver didn't know what day it was. All he knew was that Gold was a friend of his and needed his help. He knew that Crystal was stressed and needed to calm down. He knew that (y/n) was starting to worry again amd he wanted her to stop. But most importantly, he knew that if he really wanted everything to end, he would have to confront Green himself.
