49.
Cornered, Vi let her gaze jump restlessly from one man to the other. They were all larger than her, significantly broader build and probably a whole lot more aggressive.
She knew that there was only one way out of this and that was by running head first into the fight. The blue orbs inside her palms seemed to agree, sending a wave of energy through her arms.
She had no idea why or how they worked but when she had aimed for one of their throats the stones had gifted her some extra force that had shattered his Adam's apple.
Now it was only a time until he took his last choking breath and would fall still in the sand.
If only she would have known how to make this happen again. It would have solved quite a lot of her current problems.
With her teeth clenched and the sensation of sweat running down her back she dodged an attack from the side and reached up to try and place an upper cut to the man's jaw.
But despite his size he was quick on his feet and simply pulled his head away. Her punch went into nothing, cutting through air and cussing a small slapping sound to chase away the tense silence.
Every single muscle inside her body burned. She was exhausted and almost at the end of her rope.
"Fuck...", Vi gasped for air as she dodged another stamper on her life and repaid it with a punch to the ribs.
Bones nestled against her bandaged knuckles, chasing a sharp pain up her hand. For a brief second her fingers flickered, loosing their tension and opening just enough for her to fear she'd let go of the stone.
Blue light shimmered through the cracks. The air tingled with power. Vi could feel it reach into her blood, lifting her feet slightly off the ground.
Once more her heath took a leap. Almost as if it wanted to break free from its place inside her chest and roam freely around her body.
Muscles flinched, tensed and as she reached out to land another hit it had such force that the man was thrown off his feet.
Gasping, he collided with the wall, causing large chunks of the concrete to splinter like rotten wood.
Vi wanted to back away but within the blink of her eyes and the move of her muscles there was another man pumped up with shimmer.
Large fists were about to rain down on her, nails chipped and glowing with traces of purple. Everything inside her twisted at the sight.
She did not want to be touched by what that was.
Again, her hands clenched into fists but every single finger on Vi's hands trembled with strain. She could feel the salt of sweat cover her forehead, leaving a feeling of discomfort.
It wasn't a question if her body would give up but when. And judging by the hasty beat of her heart and the breath that burned inside her lungs that point in time was not too far gone anymore.
Every muscle inside her body sang, screamed and cried in agony. At the same time there was adrenaline that made her blood boil like water in a rusty pot.
Small hairs stood up in the back of her neck. Freedom was so close she could practically taste it in between the iron of blood that drooled all over her lips.
Sucking in a sharp breath Vi jumped two steps back and spat the contents of her mouth into the sand. A blob of blood and saliva mixed.
Blue light danced across her arms. It tingled, like the first kiss she had stolen from your lips in her endless audacity. It almost felt like she could reach out for it, wrap her fingers around every single thread the world was made of and tug until the air fell apart.
Once more the man charged at her.
Vi's body tensed. And all of a sudden the might of the arcane chased through her fingers. Raw, eternal power exploded inside her, tore every piece of her being apart and put it back together.
Better.
Stronger.
With her teeth clenched into fists, eyes wide open, Vi reached out while bright blue light danced across her knuckles.
One single blow was all she needed. And as her skin came in contact with the hard bones of a face she knew she had won.
That was it.
A shield of blue chased up into the air, wrapped its bodiless presence around her like a dome of glass. It looked fragile but Vi could feel that it was made of pure power.
The arcane answered to the call of her desperation and while her punch chased down on the man every single muscle inside her body gathered strength.
It tore him off his feet, quite literally, threw him through the air. With a gasp of pain and surprise his body collided with the concrete walls.
The impact alone was enough to make bones break. Blood splattered all over the place, painted the sand red. Huge cracks tore open as he drew one last breath before the light inside his shimmer corrupted eyes died with him.
Vi could feel the air burn inside her lungs with every single breath she took. Pain stabbed her side, made it feel like her lungs were about to tear apart.
There was still this unfamiliar feeling of power that made her entire body shake. Her fingers were still wrapped around the small orbs of blue, refused to let go.
And at the same time it frightened her. Everything about it was unknown to her, out of her control. It was a gamble of luck.
Yet. As the feeling of immense tension washed past her Vi let the two orbs disappear in the inside of her pockets and took a deep breath.
She'd hold onto them. At least for now.
With beads of sweat shimmering on the pale skin of hers she let her gaze wander over the people she had just struck down.
The stench of iron was in the air while blood stuck to her knuckles.
Within this chaos she spotted you.
"Sweet cheeks?"
