Chapter Three: Bashing Spree
(Present Day)
Cold. Ice. Snow. Ooze. Grey. Tragear. The world almost at its downfall. It all happened three days ago. Now? It was Monday morning. Everything that occurred was never forgotten. Each member of the team was a bit shook from all that had went on. Especially the two Walker brothers. The sixteen year old almost lost his sibling. The fact that he worried over a stupid present angered him. It pained him to nearly live without having his little brother around. How people and close relatives would react is something he didn't want to live with. From that day forward, he made a promise to himself that he would never let anything like that ever happen again.
While skating his way to school, the pilot had lots on his mind. A mind that had completely lost it during the battle. I mean, what exactly was that? He wondered what could have driven him that far. Sure, he was upset at the fact that his family could've been dead. Anyone would react in such a way. But this was different than just loss. This felt...deeper and more vicious. His thoughts were blocked out. The atmosphere and weather barely affected him. He felt as if something or someone had corrupted him. His mind. His good judgement. His character. All the things that made him who he is.
And as much as he could've crossed the line, well, how far was he going to go? All sorts of these questions were plaguing what was left in his head. He cruised his way to the inside of the building. He rode through the halls, passing large amount of students along the way. He wasn't going to his locker. In fact, he rolled by that as well. He chose to ride around the hallways instead. Him moving at a fast pace or any pace for that matter helped him relax. The young technopath zoomed past some teachers and classrooms. Some of them looked to see who it was. Others just ignored it and continued their conversation.
A bench in the middle of the hallway was present. The younger Walker brother used his board to jump over it with ease. His landing caused some students to turn around from their lockers. As he made his way around the building, a girl spotted him. Her skateboard was in her hands as she was with a friend of hers. The two were chatting about the movies. Their conversation got cut off when they heard a skateboard zoom by.
"There goes your boy." Alexa commented.
Yasmin rolled her eyes.
"Stop it." She urged.
"You know you like him." Alexa replied.
Yasmin shrugged. She strapped on her helmet and put her board down. One foot was on it as she used the other to push off. She skated after her friend. Alexa watched as she shook her head. The pilot dodged some people in the halls. He went on to yet again hop over an object in his path. That's when he heard another set of wheels. The young technopath turned around to see a fellow skater join him. He smiled.
"Hey Yasmin." Ryan greeted.
"Hey Ry! You know your supposed to skate outside, right?" Yasmin asked.
Ryan shrugged.
"Betcha I can make out and back in the school. Winner meets at the stairs." He challenged.
Yasmin smirked.
"Your on." She agreed.
The two began to race one another. The doors of the front entrance were open. Both teens rolled right out. The students walking in jumped back to clear out the path. They looked to see what was happening. Yasmin passed the fifteen year old. She grinded on the silver handle bars of the stairs. Her competitor flew over the stairs and regained the lead. The two parted ways and went to the back of the building. Meanwhile, two other freshman were talking. One of them was in their locker. The other stood there and waited.
"I can't believe how cool the new robot is. It's like Mech X4 times ten!" Spyder spoke excitedly.
"I know. I'm glad that Leo thought of it too. Tragear and Grey tore the other one apart." Harris responded.
He took out his notebook.
"Should we still call it Mech X4? There's five of us now." Spyder mentioned.
"Yeah but, Mech X4 sounds better than Mech X5." Harris replied.
Spyder nodded. The young genius closed his locker as the two began walking.
"My teammates!"
The two turned around to see another member join them.
"Hey V." Spyder greeted.
"Spyder, Timberflake." Veracity retorted.
Spyder chuckled as Harris rolled his eyes.
"Oh Veracity, new member of the team but still cracks the jokes." He snapped back.
"You know it." Veracity answered with no offense.
"Why can't you guys just-"
"Never gonna happen." The two geniuses cut him off together.
Spyder sighed. The three of them heard the sound of doors being open. You couldn't see it, but you knew something was going on. The vice principal walked swiftly through the halls. He was currently checking for any problems regarding conduct or rule breaking. The two skateboarding students saw him. Yasmin looked at Ryan. He shrugged, not really caring. Yasmin did the same. Both of them skated passed the second head of the school. He looked up and followed them immediately. The two were almost near the stairs. The pilot glanced at his opponent. He smirked. His board went closer to Yasmin's.
"I'm gonna win this!" Ryan spoke confidently.
He pushed her to the side.
"Hey!" Yasmin shouted.
People watched the both of them. The fifteen year old made it to the stairs. He saw his friends and pulled up to them. His skateboard stopped as he hopped off. He picked it up and turned around. The female skateboarder had her arms crossed.
"I win." Ryan declared.
Yasmin had a smile on her face and rolled her eyes. She picked up her board and ran over to the group.
"Yeah nice." She replied.
Ryan chuckled.
"You guys were racing?" Veracity asked.
"Yup. Guess we know who's the better boarder." Ryan responded.
Yasmin elbowed him.
"Please, last time you skated you completely wiped out." She brought up.
Ryan rolled his eyes. Harper's stupid little message caught him off guard. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell her that part.
"I was distracted. Besides, you would bring up something like that since you lost." Ryan fired back.
"You pushed me cheater." Yasmin retorted.
"Hey, I still won. You owe me a smoothie now." Ryan stated.
"Yeah yeah whatever." Yasmin replied.
Ryan chuckled again.
"Hey!"
The five teens turned around at the voice.
"You're not allowed to skateboard inside the school, understand? You two have detention." Vice Principal William told them.
"What? Since when was that a rule?" Ryan argued.
"Since this school was built. I don't know how they did things back at Bay City High, but while you're here, you follow the rules. Detention after school, both of you!" William enforced.
Yasmin nodded as Ryan shook his head and crossed his arms. The vice principal walked away.
"Bummer man. Hey, I'll try to get detention so you guys have company, alright?" Spyder decided.
"Dude, don't get in trouble for no reason." Harris spoke up.
"But that's what I do best. I'm about to get it anyway." Spyder said.
"Why?" Veracity inquired.
"I glued everything in Dent's office." Spyder told her.
"How'd you do that?" Yasmin questioned.
"Well, I was called down for something else I did. Once Dent left the room, I remembered I had glue in my bag. The rest is meant to be seen." Spyder explained.
Harris shook his head.
"So you freshman got detention eh?" Somebody questioned from afar.
A group of jocks approached the group of friends. A few of them rolled their eyes as they stopped in front of them. The varsity boys were the same guys who gave Mark a hard time the first day they arrived at Bay City East.
"Yeah what's it to you?" Spyder asked in return.
"You know, you Bay City High freaks have been getting on my nerves. I wish we could wipe you out." Wade stated.
His little posse smirked and prepared to back up the captain.
"Cliche as always Wade," Ryan replied to the main jock, who's eyebrows rose up from that comment, "now shut up and leave."
"Ooo, scary. Your gonna have to do better than that if you wanna impress us." DeMarco replied.
"Why would we want to impress a bunch of groupies?" Spyder insulted.
"Shut it dweeb. Yo let me clock these punks." Tedd reacted in a violent matter.
A hand held him back.
"Hold it T. We shouldn't crush their pride so quickly." Rico spoke while smiling.
A bunch of "ooo's" surrounded them as students stopped in the halls to watch.
"Or maybe, you guys can actually use a thing called your brain and back away." Veracity shot back.
"Yo, can I sucker punch her?" Tedd questioned his friends.
DeMarco smacked his shoulder.
"You never hit a girl, man. She didn't touch you, back off." He answered.
Tedd gave him a weird look. DeMarco wasn't fazed by it.
"What? Fair game unless it's a girl, alright?" He told him.
"And what's your deal? We didn't do anything to you guys." Harris spoke up.
"Didn't have to. Can't stand you Bay City High freaks. Think you're so much better than us," Wade riposted, "sides, it's what we like to do goody two shoes. But don't worry, I'll go easy on your friends so they won't be too broken."
The technopath gave his belongings to the male scientist of the team for him to hold.
"Can you ever take a chill day?" Yasmin inquired.
"No not really." Wade retorted.
He cracked his knuckles threateningly.
"Wade I don't think you wanna do this." Ryan instantly replied as he shrugged off his jacket.
"And what if I do?" Wade asked.
"Then I'd mess that pretty face up dipwad." Ryan answered back with no hesitation.
"Oh shoot!" A student shouted from the crowd.
Wade chuckled.
"You really think you can take me? That's a good one." He teased in confidence.
"It is. Which is why I'm gonna make it real good." Ryan challenged.
Wade was about to get in his stance until one of his teammates stood in front of him.
"Nah nah nah, I got him," Tedd assured his pals, "been waiting to knock someone upside their head anyway. Question, did you pick up that habit or were you born a dickhead?"
A few gasps exchanged between Yasmin, Harris, Veracity, and a handful of the crowd. Spyder was pissed off. Wade and his crew backed away. The pilot smiled a little and let out a slight chuckle as he walked closer to the jock.
"I'd rather be a dickhead then someone's dragging piece of shit." Ryan spatted.
A wave of "ooo's" and "oohhh's" traveled in the halls.
"Say that again and you won't breathe." Tedd threatened.
"Why? Because it's true. Because Wade is the front man while you pine to be him like some jealous, underachieving lackie who can't even go one minute without wanting someone on the floor." Ryan criticized.
"Big talk for someone who has a brother that clearly outmatches him in every way," Tedd shot back, increasing the anger the fifteen year old had, "who, makes something of himself while you sit in the background and people only know you through him like some invisible jackass lurking in the shadows."
That did it. Not putting this off any longer, the older varsity member found himself being punched in the nose. You heard the sound of his nose potentially cracking as he held it. The crowd was aghast as Tedd faced the younger teen and growled.
"Ugly bastard!" He shouted.
He returned the hit with a punch of his own. It was a hard one, just not as bone crushing. Glaring with a smirk, Ryan held nothing back as the two went at it. The real fight began, with punches and kicks flying left and right. It'd be clever for the pilot to use his powers so running back would be unable to see but, that would expose him. So he kept this fair. Tedd managed to push the younger Walker brother up against the lockers, making the noise ring loudly.
"Oh my god!" Yasmin reacted in shock.
Her friend/crush swung the football player around and made his back collide with the lockers. He threw Tedd onto the floor, with him quickly recovering and tackling the freshman to the ground. The students were no help as they supported the violence instead of trying to break it up.
"They're gonna kill each other." Veracity said.
"Yeah! Get em Ry!" Spyder shouted alongside the rest of the student body.
His buds gave him a look.
"Seriously?" Harris quizzed.
"What? For once I'm the one watching. You have noo idea what my fights were like." Spyder answered.
"I don't even wanna know." Yasmin replied.
The two students continued to battle it out. Tedd had Ryan in a head lock. It was short lived since he elbowed him and escaped. Tedd then attempted an upper cut, but was reunited with the ground once again. The younger Walker brother had kneed him aggressively. And the place he did it had everyone shocked. That gave Ryan the momentary advantage as he jumped on top of Tedd and had him on the floor. The two started to wrestle when the principal showed up to see what all the commotion was about. And once he saw it, he immediately took action by separating the two.
"Hey!" Principal Dent yelled, silencing the crowd, "hey! Break it up! ENOUGH!"
Once apart from each other, both boys were breathing heavy while the principal looked in between the both of them.
"How many fights are we gonna have this year?" Dent questioned. Tedd rolled his eyes, "I'm tired of this. Who started it?"
"This Bay City High freak just whammed him in the face." Wade accused.
"No he didn't. You guys came up to us and started all of it." Spyder defended his friend.
"He wanted to fight." DeMarco retaliated.
"Only because you guys wouldn't leave us alone." Harris shot back.
"Didn't have to get violent." Rico responded.
"It wouldn't of if you punks would just mind your own business." Veracity argued.
"Okay can it!" Dent ended the argument to prevent another fight.
He looked over at Ryan for a little bit before deciding the punishment.
"You're suspended two weeks." Dent told him.
Ryan didn't take that well.
"What?! What about him?!" He argued.
"And in those two weeks," Dent continued, "Tedd you and the others have detention."
The fifteen year olds glanced at one another, upset how unfairly the decision was.
"Why do they get detention and I get suspended?!" Ryan inquired angrily.
"We got important games Little Walker. Oh...and varsity rules." Rico replied.
"Shut your face! I wasn't talking to you!" Ryan snapped. He looked back over at the principal, "you let them get away with everything! You're such a prick!"
"You wanna make it three weeks?!" Dent retorted, with the surrounding students glancing at one another.
"I don't give two craps about it! Give me the whole freaking year why don't ya! You're such a suck up anyway! I oughta take those glasses off your face and SHOVE IT UP YOUR A-"
Ryan's mouth was covered by his friend's hand. His other hand and arm was wrapped around his waist. The daredevil dragged him away from the principal before he could say or do anything else. Luckily the bell rang, which signaled everyone to head for class. The violence that had taken place became a main discussion while the remaining freshman stayed in the halls. Spyder let Ryan go and handed him his jacket.
"Dang. I thought WWIII was gonna break out." Yasmin commented.
"Ryan you nearly got yourself in more trouble. You gotta chill out." Harris told his pal.
The technopath glanced at each and every one of them.
"I'm sick of Wade and his stupid friends thinking they can walk all over us." Ryan told him.
"Yeah, but you-"
"I don't care!" Ryan yelled.
The lights began going off as some items went out of wack. The group looked around as they became concerned.
"Weird," Yasmin said to that. She picked up her board, "I'm gonna head to class. See you in a couple weeks."
She patted her friend on the shoulder before leaving. Once she was gone, the gang went back to what they were talking about.
"Does this happen every time he's upset?" Veracity queried.
"Yeah, things go crazy when he does. You'll get used to it." Spyder answered her back.
Veracity nodded.
"Seriously, you gotta watch it. Being in Mech X4 and getting punishment at the same time isn't good." Harris told his friend.
"Harris, I don't care," Ryan retorted as he grabbed his stuff, "now if you'll excuse me, I gotta find a way to explain this to my mom. And hopefully I don't get a second lecture."
He walked away from the team. Not bothering to go to class, his hands opened the front door. He went through and slammed it. The others watched him go.
"Somebody has issues." Veracity spoke aloud.
"Tedd's a jerk." Spyder said to her.
"Yeah he is. We should talk to Ry after school." Harris remarked.
The three parted ways and headed to their classrooms. What had just took place was out of the ordinary for their friend. They were going to get to the bottom of this whether he was willing to or not.
