Chapter 4
After serving her dad breakfast and making sure he would be okay for the next few hours or so, the young blonde headed for Mech X. She had quickly stopped by Wawa to pick up an iced coffee and donuts. Not the healthiest choice for a first meal, but she would make up for it later. Heading down the street the guardian's phone seemed to be popular as she answered another call. It was the same person as before.
"Hey V, how's the experiment going?" Mack inquired.
"I'm at the Mech," Veracity replied as she was covering up the beaker of blood, "Leo and Harris are with me. I showed them what was happening and well...one of them isn't handling it too great."
Looking over, the male brains of the team had a frantic expression on his face as he was talking very loudly.
"Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! Oh man!" Harris freaked.
Kenzie heard it over the phone and sighed.
"Why must he be such a cute worry wart?" She wondered. V had a tiny smirk on her face as she handed Leo the blob, "is the blood still purple?"
"Yes, but it's very light. A few more tints and it's going to turn blue." V responded.
"So if that turns blue, does that mean all the blood in him that generates will remain the same?" Mack inquired.
"That's the way it's going. And at this rate, it might happen sooner than we think. We're working on an antidote now." Veracity answered.
"Will he die from it?" Kenzie asked.
"That's the bright side of this whole thing," Leo told her, "he'll be ok. Just get here as soon as you can."
"I'm on my way, but you sure you guys don't want a donut or something? I can super speed back to Wawa." Mackenzie offered.
Leo paused.
"Get here as soon as you can....after getting me a latte." He changed his previous answer.
"And a milkshake for me!" V called. She looked over at her rival, "and get an extra set of donuts. It'll calm Hairbear down."
"Gotcha." Mackenzie agreed as she hung up.
Leo looked at the blob again once he put it under a microscope. He viewed how its form had changed since it was first introduced to him. Blobby yes, but the texture had been altered. A little gooey and sticky. The blood within the child must've affected how the substance originally was. The older scientist figured that out when he physically touched it, with gloves on of course.
"Welp, that's the last time I mess with this stuff," Leo stated. He shook the mess that was the dark blue glob. Some of it ended up on the floor, with Veracity moving away with disgust, "ugh! That's just nasty."
"No dip," V agreed. Harris walked over to the pair, "the color didn't change, only the texture and size. Some of it split apart."
"Anything else in the blood?" Harris quizzed.
"Tiny, blue droplets are floating inside," Leo told him, "once they all expand, it'll turn the blood blue."
"So what can we do?" Harris inquired.
"I gathered some of the chemicals I was able to keep back before Seth came in," Leo began. He held up two, small cups that contained seperate mixtures, "I don't remember if this helped make technopathy, but I do know it can reverse experiments."
He brought out an empty beaker and combined the two substances together.
"Reverse experiments? Wouldn't that reverse his powers and take it out of him?" Veracity questioned.
"Like I said, I don't remember what I used to make technopathy. Ryan got it by accident, so I can't take it out." Leo retorted.
"This should help stop Ryan's blood from turning blue?" Harris inquired.
"With an addition of tulgut, weird name for a powder, we'll be able to test it on the blood we got and see if it reverses it." Leo replied.
"What about the blobs?" Veracity questioned.
"Well that's naturally," Leo explained, "it helps the technopathy stay in Ryan's bloodstream so, we don't need to change that. But, I do wanna test it just in case."
Veracity took off her gloves and entered the robot to wash her hands. Taking the blood with her, she wanted to keep it inside the main lab and out of reach. This type of stuff just laying around is not something you want to do. As she placed the beaker down beside the sink, she turned on the faucet. However, the female brains of Mech X4 had missed the fact that the blood was still mixing with the chemicals that had been placed within the young pilot years ago. Its bond grew stronger, swirling around and congealling to become one.
Luckily, V was finished drying off so she could now place the blood in a safer location. She walked into the lab Leo built ages ago and put it on the table. Using sealing wrap, she covered it up to keep it from spilling out. That's when she noticed the ever changing blood sample. Her eyes grew wider as she could tell that their time was dwindling.
"Oh no." Veracity reacted.

Returning home to his world, the duplicate had mixed feelings. It was a little creepy for him to see another him standing right in front of him. How time travel and dimensions worked still puzzled him to this day and this proved it. No wonder scientists haven't figured it out yet. Turning his head, he saw his co-worker standing with his arms crossed.
"How'd it go? He asked.
"Interesting," the doppelganger responded, "first introductions aren't my thing so it was weird. But hey, whatever gets me closer to...well me is worth it."
Walking towards the edge of the building, the clone crossed his arms while his partner dropped his.
"So what now?" The man questioned.
"Well Morris, since I have powers and you have access to any technology related store in Bay City..." The duplicate slowly retorted.
Morris thought it over before picking up on what he was saying.
"I'm not gonna like this am I?" He inquired.
Smiling, the doppelganger turned back around to face him.
"I don't care if you like it," he said, "I do."
