35 - A Perfectly Good Day
Harry celebrated nearly killing Draco by shoving his tongue down my sister's throat.
"But I thought you'd be happy for me!" Harry whined when he pulled himself away from her long enough to remember who I was.
"Yeah because the idea of my best mate pounding my little sister makes me so fucking ecstatic." I snarled, glaring down at them with my arms folded furiously across my chest.
"Oh shut up, Ronnie," Ginny spat. "We all had to put up with it when you were snogging the mini Dark Lord wannabe!"
"Don't you talk about Draco like that!" I roared, "not when he's still lying in the hospital wing after what your boyfriend did!"
"Oh, so he's my boyfriend when he does something bad and your best mate when he does something good."
"Yeah, pretty much. Glad we're on the same page."
"Guys, there's no need to fight over me." Harry said, casually inspecting his fingernails. "There's plenty of Potter to go around."
"Oh, go to hell you absolute fucktard." I sniped, marching towards the portrait to get the hell out of there.
"What's got your knickers in a twist today, Weasley?" Draco drawled, his silver grey eyes twinkling up at me in amusement as I dramatically stormed into the hospital wing.
"Harry's shagging my sister." I huffed, pacing the floor next to his bed, too pent up to sit down.
"And that bothers you, why?"
"My best friend and my sister, Draco!" I said looking at him as though he was stupid. "It's like incest!"
"You do know what incest is, don't you?" He smirked, seeming rather amused by it all.
"I can't stand the thought of them two at it!" I cried, wringing my hands through my hair.
"Then don't think about it." Draco shrugged as if it was just that easy.
"It's not that simple! They are shoving it right in my face!"
"Anyone would think you are jealous. Should I be worried?"
"Good god no, all these years around Harry and the thought of doing anything with him still gives me the heebie jeebies."
"That's good to know. Come here, let me cheer you up."
He moved aside, patting the space on the bed next to him. I didn't need telling twice and happily crawled in, sighing blissfully as he wrapped his arms around me, gathering me to his chest and pressing his lips firmly against my forehead.
"Can I just stay here with you?" I mumbled. "I think I'd rather Crucio myself then step back into the Gryffindor Tower."
"Sadly, I'm getting out today," he chuckled throatily, causing his body to tremor against mine. "But I always thought you'd make a much better Slytherin. Come join us in the dungeons, Weasley. Although saying that, the other Slytherins aren't a patch on you - you'd eat them all alive."
"You're getting out? That's great. Wanna come and laugh at Harry in Saturday detention with me?"
"As tempting as that sounds Weasley, I was rather hoping you and I could do something else today. Somewhere away from this place."
"Oh?" I said, my interest piqued. "What did you have in mind?"
"Meet me down in the Entrance Hall after lunch and I'll show you."
"Draco, are you taking me out on a date?"
"If that's what you want to call it," he shrugged, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"Then yes, I'd love to."

Draco grabbed my hand the instant we were out of sight of the castle.
"You're still embarrassed about being seen with me, aren't you?" I said accusingly, frowning up at him.
"It's not that, Weasley. Believe me, it's just... safer this way. For you."
"For me? What do you think is going to happen if I get caught seen with you?"
"Please, Weasley. Let's not talk about this." He gritted, staring straight ahead as we walked the footpath towards Hogsmede. "I just want us to enjoy this time while we have it."
"You're talking like the world is about to end."
I expected him to make a sarcastic retort, but instead I was disconcerted to see a flicker of what looked like dismay cross his face.
"So what do you want to do in Hogsmede?" I asked airily, deciding not to push things with him.
"Hogsmede? Oh, we're not going to Hogsmede." Draco said, pulling me closer to his side as we reached the edge of the castle's boundaries.
"But, where else?" I asked, looking between the castle gates and the track into Hogsmede. Surely he wasn't intending us to go for a hike in the Forbidden Forest?
"We're both of age, Weasley, I thought we could Apparate somewhere."
"We don't have our licenses, Draco. I failed my test, remember?"
"Live a little, Weasley. Who's going to know?" He smirked, pulling me into his arms. "Trust me, I'll get us there safely."
"Get us wh-"
But I was cut off by the feel of air being sucked out of me and a horrific sensation of my navel area being squeezed tight making me completely lose my footing as we landed somewhere new.
I could hear Draco chuckle as he held me upright, and I kept my eyes squeezed shut against his chest.
"I feel sick!" I gasped, trembling all over. "That was horrible!"
"Please try to avoid throwing up over me. This is a brand new suit. Now open your eyes, Weasley - we're here."
I lifted my head, blinking. Not daring to let go of Draco yet, I looked around to see where 'here' was.
We were surrounded by a lot of orange clad witches and wizards, milling around outside what appeared to be a Quidditch enclosure.
"Draco is this- is this the Chudley Cannons stadium?!" I gasped, excitement bubbling in my stomach.
He nodded, his eyes creasing up as they glinted down at me in the sunlight.
"Personally I don't know why anyone would support them but I know they're your favourite so I got us a couple of tickets for today's game."
My heart did something very strange and new inside my chest. A surging warmth spread throughout my entire body and left me with the feeling that I might cry - not out of sadness but just as the result of this strange new powerful emotion.
"Draco, I- I-" I couldn't find the words to tell him how I felt; about what his gesture meant to me.
Because what I wanted to do was tell him that I loved him.
"Don't say anything," he murmured, cupping my cheek and placing the pad of his thumb upon my lips to silence me. "Please, lets just enjoy today."
Dropping his hand, he entwined his fingers with mine and led the way into the stadium.
We were just like any other couple that afternoon; sitting in the crowd with arms draped around each other, exchanging brief, chaste kisses at every given opportunity, and glancing adoringly into one another's eyes.
I was so happy, I didn't even care when the Chudley Cannons lost. Draco still bought me a burger to cheer me up, though.
"I'll get you cake too, if you want," he grinned, as he watched me greedily wolf down the last of my bap.
"Nah, you're alright," I said, licking ketchup off my fingers. "I think I'd rather spend some private time alone with you."
He cocked an eyebrow, silver grey eyes glinting mischievously into mine.
"Now that sounds like a plan to me, I know just the place. Come on."
I closed my eyes and braced myself for it this time, as he pulled me to his chest and whispered a warning in my ear. "Hold tight, Weasley."
We arrived in a beautiful meadow, surrounded by trees and flowers, and no one around except us.
Draco conjured a blanket, ushering me to lay down with him. We undressed and fucked as the afternoon sun beat down on our bodies, Draco's arms and torso still covered in bandages.
When I was close, he pulled back my hair and made me look into his eyes. "Don't stop looking at me," he hissed. "I want to see you." He followed straight after me, still never tearing his eyes away. I watched in wonderment as his pupils expanded, the effect making his usually pale eyes darken with passion.
Afterwards, we collapsed back down on the blanket in a sweaty crumpled mess, our bodies remaining entwined, neither of us in any hurry to let go.
"I don't want to go back," I sighed, as I lay my head upon his chest, listening to the settling of his heartbeat. "Let's just stay here forever."
"I'd happily spend the rest of my days fucking you in a meadow." Draco chuckled as he stroked my back with one hand and ran his fingers through my hair with the other.
"Do you think they'd notice if we didn't return?" I mused, my heart feeling heavy at the setting sun shining through the trees.
"I think Potter would have me arrested for abduction."
"He's too busy ramming his body parts into my sister to give a fuck." I spat, frowning at the unwanted reminder of Harry's so-called relationship with Ginny.
"Jesus, Weasley. Can you stop with the disturbing mental images." Draco sighed heavily. "You're ruining a perfectly good day."
"It was a perfectly good day, wasn't it?" I smiled, lifting my head to look up at him. His silver grey eyes twinkled warmly back at me as his lips tugged into a genuine heart felt smile.
"It was the best, Weasley."
Except that with this perfectly good day, came a heavy feeling deep inside of my chest.
Because I couldn't help but fear that this was Draco's way of saying goodbye.
Just two days later, my fear was proven correct.
And Harry had been right all along.
I was never going to hear the fucking end of it.
