Chapter Two- A New Ferrari
~*~*~
Braedey was in the zen garden in his backyard.
He was sitting in a Lotus position by the waterfall and his eyes were shut tight.
"Peaceful, peaceful! Zen." He said firmly, as he started taking deep breaths.
With each breath, Braedey felt more calm and relaxed. Although his eyes were shut, he saw a beautiful jungle waterfall by using his mind which most people refer to as a third eye.
"I'm just in a jungle spring, with the fish, right now. I hear the sound of rushing waterfalls and singing birds everywhere. I am one with nature. I have no anger. There is nothing but peace, quiet and tranquility. I am balanced." Braedey said calmly, as he visualized himself swimming with the fish around him.
Within his mind, all he hears is the sound of the waterfalls flowing into the lake combined with singing birds. This relaxing combination of natural sounds was very soothing to Braedey, and he feels at peace. Braedey knows how to meditate this deep because he was trained in the Shaolin Temple of Henan Province in China when he learned Wushu. The Shaolin monks at the temple also trained him to harness Chi to control his own body temperature, and even make himself immune to all matter of physical pain. In fact, the training that Braedey underwent at the Henan Province Shaolin Temple gave him an inhumanly high threshold for pain, so nothing can hurt him. James approached his son and put a warm hand on his shoulder.
"Who disturbs my meditation, as a pebble disturbs the stillness of the pond?" Braedey asked, as he came to his senses and opened his eyes.
"Braedey, it's your father. And ya might wanna pack your things. Because we're gonna get you a new car." James answered calmly.
Braedey's eyes widened with excitement and he stood up.
"A new car?" Braedey asked
"Yep. I have a friend in Miami who has a collection of old cars." James answered.
"What are we waiting for? Let's roll." Braedey said.
He ran inside and packed up extra clothes, his cellphone and Aviator sunglasses.
Braedey and his father got into James' 1997 Chevy Silverado pickup truck and headed for the airport.
"And we're off... Like a herd of turtles." Braedey said.
James and his son started laughing.
"That was a good one, Braedey. I guess my sense of humor rubbed off on you." He said.
"I guess it did. And under the right circumstances, I think you might make it as a co-host on Family Feud with Steve Harvey." Braedey replied.
James laughed.
"Maybe I could. Hosting alongside of a professional comedian? I like it." He said.
"I know right?" Braedey asked.
"This is James Martin. It's time to play Family Feud! Give it up for STEVE HARVEY!!!!!" James said.
"Welcome to Family Feud everybody. I'm your man, Steve Harvey. And we got a good one for ya today. From Columbus Ohio, it's the Martin family. And from Los Angeles California, it's the Tannen family. Everybody's here to win $20,000 and the chance to drive outta here in a new Ford Fusion Hybrid." Braedey replied.
They both laughed even harder.
"That was pretty good. You totally nailed the accent. In fact, I think you'd make a good actor, son. With your charm and fighting prowess, you could be the next James Bond." James said.
"I bet. You're the one who taught me how to shoot. Now, I never miss a target that I shoot at." Braedey replied.
~*~*~
Braedey and James arrived in Miami and walked through the city. Eventually, they came to a huge mansion that seemed familiar, but Braedey couldn't remember who owns the place.
"Hmmm. This place looks familiar, but I can't remember who lives here. I've seen him on TV many times before, but I don't remember his name." He said.
When they reached the front porch, James knocked on the door. A few minutes later, the front door was answered by a very muscular man with dark brown eyes.
"James. Good to see ya." The man said.
"What's shakin'? It's been a long time, Dwayne." James replied.
Braedey was shocked to hear that the guy's name was Dwayne. In fact, now he remembered who this man was. It was Dwayne Johnson, known far and wide as the People's Champion, The Great One and most notably, The Rock. Braedey's heart almost stopped. He never thought he would actually be able to meet The Rock in person before. Dwayne looks at Braedey and smiles.
"So, you must be Braedey." He said.
"Yes. And I have to say, I am a big fan, Mister Johnson. I have never thought I would meet The Rock in person. I can't believe this happening." Braedey replied.
"Well, believe it. Cause The Rock's got a special present in the garage for ya." Dwayne said.
The Rock led them to his garage and Braedey's jaw dropped. Dwayne had a lot of old cars, consisting of old school mustangs, a 1970 Chevelle, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Ferraris. He even caught sight of a Delorean.
"You have a Delorean?" Braedey asked.
"Yep. The Rock loves Back To The Future. You just knock yourself out and look around. Me and your dad have a lot of catching up to do. And by the way; The driver doesn't pick the car. The car picks the driver." Dwayne answered.
Braedey went to look at all the beautiful cars that surrounded him while James and The Rock went into the kitchen.
"So, how are things in Columbus?" Dwayne asked.
"They'd be better if Roxanne would be nice to my son. She always tries to make him fix her ugly Lincoln Navigator Ultimate SUV. Keyword; try. Everytime Braedey finds parts for it in the junkyard, Roxanne hides them somewhere in the house to keep him from fixing her car. I have a feeling that she likes torturing him." James explained.
"Damn. Sounds like you picked the wrong woman. But don't worry, I heard that your wife Naomi and youngest daughter Jessie are gonna be getting home soon." Dwayne said.
"Yeah. She told me over the phone. Surprisingly, she understood the reason as to why I spent time with Roxanne. It was because I missed my wife and at the time, I couldn't handle the stress of taking care of Braedey and Karen alone." James replied.

Back with Braedey, there were many cars to choose from. The Rock's car collection was like an art gallery for any automotive enthusiast.
"There has to be something that stands out around here." He said.
Suddenly, a glimpse of red caught his attention.
"Eh?" Braedey asked with a heavy British accent.
He went to investigate and his jaw nearly dropped. There, right in front of him, was a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.
Braedey couldn't believe his eyes. The 250 GTO had a top speed of 173 mph, with a 0-62 time of 4.6 seconds and a 3Liter V12 engine with 295 HP. Although the car was missing a wheel, it looked like it could run.
"Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes? And you're certainly something to behold." Braedey said smoothly. Then he remembered what Dwayne said. "I think you just made my decision."
"Did you find anything?" James called.
"I sure did." Braedey answered, as he went to show James and Dwayne what he found. Unbeknownst to Braedey, the front wheels on the Ferrari turned towards the direction in which the brunette went. A dim, amber glow was visible in the headlights. There seemed to be a spark of life in them. Braedey returned with James and The Rock.
"What do ya think?" He asked.
"Looks like my boy found a sweet ride. Looks like she could use a few new parts, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle." James answered.
Braedey climbed into the driver's seat and looked at the interior. It was sparkling clean. Dwayne probably cleaned the interior of every car in his garage when he did spring cleaning.
"It feels more comfortable that I thought." Braedey said, as he traced the steering wheel with his hands, taking in how smooth it was.
The Rock took note of this.
"Of course it is. That's Italian craftsmanship at its best." He said.
James looked at The Rock.
"Well Dwayne, we came here all the way from Ohio to see you, and it appears that we've come down to this." He said. "How much would you be willing to charge for this lovely car?"
Dwayne examined the Ferrari and scraped off a bit of dust with his finger.
"Well, she is missing a wheel, but I think a few repairs oughta have her lookin' as pretty as ever. Come to think of it, I heard about a mysterious disappearance in Italy that involved this car. But, whatever. The Rock doesn't concern himself with old cases that were closed decades ago." Dwayne said.
"I'll pay you $100,000 in cash for this Ferrari." James replied.
The Rock seemed flabbergasted.
"$100,000? I don't know." He said.
"No tricks. This is for real. It is Braedey's birthday after all, and I wanted to get him something special." James replied, as he pulled $100,000 out of his billfold.
"Sold. Ya got her. I think Braedey and this sexy little sheila are gonna get along just fine. In fact, I hear her talkin' right now. She's saying that she wants to be with him." Dwayne said.
"Really?" Braedey asked in surprise.
"That's right, kid. Ya got her. You're quite lucky to have a beautiful ride like this. And I would bet you money that once she's fixed up, you're gonna get a nice date in her." The Rock answered. "Cause ya know something that catches a girl's eye? It's a sexy lookin' ride like this Ferrari 250 GTO. Especially one being driven by a muscular hunk of a man like yourself. I mean, look at those muscles. Any girl would be lucky to have you, buddy."
Braedey climbed out of the car.
"Perhaps. And I remember three very important things about getting a girl. Number one; don't follow my instincts. There are some places where instincts will get me there, but not with women. So whatever I think I should do, I do the opposite. Number two; women don't want a man just because he has a flashy car or big muscles like mine. They want a thinker, a feeler. Someone who understands them. Women want a man who is in touch with his most inner emotions. The third thing and this is most important. And it's something women have responded to for thousands of years. I have got to do this." He said smoothly, as he put his hands on his hips and began to make his pecs bounce rhythmically.
"What's that?" James asked.
The Rock looks at him.
"That is the Pec Pop of Love." He answered.
"How'd you do that?" James asked.
"Years of practice." Braedey answered.
They bid The Rock farewell and headed back to Columbus while Dwayne made arrangements to have the Ferrari delivered to Braedey's house.

VERONICA'S POV
I was finally sold. After years of neglect, I was sold to someone who came all the way from Ohio to see The Rock, and he is quite a catch. He's built like a tank, with muscles that are equal to those of Dwayne Johnson, and he even knows the Pec Pop of Love. When he climbed into me, I thought he was a pervert and that he was gonna grope me. But I was wrong. He just sat there and stroked my steering wheel with a gentle touch. I look forward to meeting him in Columbus. Whoever this guy is, he's hot, and I like him. He's mine, and no other woman will ever have him.
