Chapter 9: The Demon and the Wolf.

Alto and Vermeil, not knowing anything about the fight in the library, enjoyed their time together. They would have been preparing for a little private training at the most secluded point of the coast during sunset.
"Honey! Are you sure you thought about it? Since anyone can see us."
"If you remain silent, no one will find us."
Then a stranger sounded over them.
"As a matter of fact I see you."

Vermeil and Alto immediately jumped up and looked at their opponent. As if a walking wolf with a white fur stood against them. He wore black swimsuit and a cloak. Eye was covered with sunglasses.
"Just go ahead and pretend I'm not here. I'm not the voyeur type at idle, but it's been a while since I've seen a fiery lovemaking."
"You want Vermeil too, right?" Alto asked coldly, but his suprise, the wolfman laughed.
"Sorry, but huge hams and watermelon-sized breasts never attracted me. I'm more interested in men, if you get the hint."
"That mean..."
"Missed, demon. Alto is not my case either. I never liked the shota boys. Rather, the checkered upper body and the muscular legs attracted."
"I feel like we're talking on a very different wavelength." Alto said with a cynical edge and would have been cast magic.
"Put your hands down. It's not worth fighting here. This beach is beautiful, it would be a pity to ruin it."
Vermeil, on the other hand, was unimpressed by this argument and opened her fist, which flashed out her sharp claws. The Wolf reached into his cloak and pulled out a gun.
"Where'd you get that? As far as I know, it was not invented in our world."
"The creative man finds a solution to everything, Alto bro. I hate to repeat myself, but it's not worth fighting here. Let's have a little chat first. For starters, I'll introduce myself. my name is Daniel Harris."
"That Big Bad Wolf Harris, the Ink Master?"
"I hate that name. You don't like being called a scourge of the humanity and a two -legged demon killer, right? So let's stay at Dan."
"How do you know about us?"
"Iolite told me all about you. Thank god, or rather, you, the descending Twilight funeral buried him six feet under. I hated it like shit. So now we can talk normally?

At this point, they found his words somewhat believable. Vermeil and Alto returned to normal posture and held hands. Dan put the gun away.
"So, tell me, what the hell are you want... Dan." Vermeil said. Her voice could filter out some threats.
"Simple. You don't want to do something that you absolutely don't like, right? That's how I got here. Instead of enjoying this wonderful beach, I would eat or in the evening in one of the clubs I would enjoy a man's love, I got a mission from a a witch dressed from head to toe in mourning entrusts me with the task of capturing two demons and protecting some papers. Okay, the payment is 30 million gold, but let's be honest. What kind of employer can only hire you through other people?"
"Coward?"
"Or maybe he or she don't want to show his or her face?"
"Thank you for reading my mind. If you've heard of me, you know I'm a hit man for a real job. So I don't live up to these bullshit orders."
"It's cute to tell us, but why did you take it if you didn't want to come here?"
"Alto! You couldn't have asked a more perfect question. I was looking for a challenge and pushing my limits in my worldly life. So i want to fight a demon."
"So you ask me to plow all ten nails across your butt like a hot knife on butter?" Vermeil asked with a smile on her face.
"If we take the sexual tone out of it, then you pretty much hit the nail in the head."

Neider arrived at this point. San smacked his fingers with satisfaction.
"Now, that's more like it."
"Are you the Angel of Death?" He asked.
"At last! Someone knows my favourite name. However, don't worry. I prefer to offer a deal. Vermeil fights me face to face. The winner can wish what want."
"Okay. If I win, you tell me everything you know about our enemies."
"And what if I win?"
"You can take me."
"Are you deaf, demon? I don't blow a stone with those braindead nihilists, especially not Oersted."
"Then what do you ask for?"
Dan looked at Neider's body, before answer.
"I want him for a night."
"You don't invite me to a drink before, that's one thing. But how do you not ask for my opinion? Then I fight you. Would be too big a chew for you."
"Fine. Any objections?"
"Nope."
Dan and Neider shake hands to confirm the deal.
"Where do you wanna fight?" Alto asked. For some inexplicable reason, he trusted Dan. Maybe it's not his butt on the line.
"There's a deserted area nearby. Just the perfect place."
"Okay. Let's go."

While marching into that particular deserted area, there were doubts in Vermeil, as she had long seen Neider's fighting.
"Master! Have you thought this through? I can take your place, if you have to."
"Ahh, it doesen't need."
"But if you lose..."
"I know the man with the man. I was some orgy in ancient Greek and Rome. The only difference is that the Romans give some womens into the party."
"That's okay so far, but you're with Rachel. Your master and lover."
"Shit! Realy... ah, just kidding. I'll win, no matter what. Maybe you're stronger, than me, but I have more fighting experiece."
"What are you whispering in the back?" Dan asked, while he leads the group.
"Nothing special." Neider and Vermeil answered at the same time.
"I'll filter that too. My hearing is excellent, just it better to pretend to be deaf. Anyway, don't worry. I can be gentle."
He wink to Neider after end of his sentence. They arrived at a point on the coast where tourists do not put their feet. Dan took out two knives and tossed one to Neider.
"We'll fight the first blood. No magic, or anything else." he said and dropped his coat. It was now clear that he did not have to go to the neighbour for muscles either.
"I'm the only one who doesn't have such blocky muscles." Alto said with a little devastated voice, and Vermeil giggled and put her arm around his shoulder.
"For me you are perfect as you are."
Rachel then arrived with Lilia and Elena.
"We're arrived. What's going on?" Rachel asked with expressionless face.
"Another Platinum Ranked or Hell's Assassin member find us. However, he does not really intend to do his job. Instead, he make a deal with Neider. If Neider win, we give information. If he lose, Dan and Neider will spend a night together."
Alto's summary gives mixed reactions to everybody.
"Rather than that, we can say that, they re-radiate the concept of heteroism. Cute." Elena said with a more conjectured smile.
"I hope you win!" Lilia shout to Neider. "Cause if you don't, Rachel will rip the skin off your face, she'll pee in it, she'll pull the skin back on your head, and she'll slap you until you shed a pee, you scumbag!"
"Don't speak in my name." Rachel clearing her throat after that. "Actually, I'll watch the whole thing."
"But your boyfriend went into this stupidity!"
"Lilia!" Neider said, while he's not look away to his opponent. "I know the risks, but you don't know that Rachel likes gay and bisexual men. In addition, she leave that if I cheated on her, that would still be free with a man."
"Why did you tell this?"She asked embarrassed. Dan just smiled at them.
"Forgive me not to listen to your teen thing, but I don't wanna hear all day. Can we start?"
"Yes."
Vermeil came between them. The others around them to watch who takes the hit.
"Begin!" Vermeil shout and jumped back.

Neither side was at rest and immediately fell for each other. The blade of a knife snapped with a knife, and apparently both sides were well versed in this. Alto was impressed by the fast paced movements and the dynamics between them. They were all prepared for every step. Then, as they were each preparing for a stabbing, the tip of the knife went into Dan's chest while Neider was hit in the forehead.
"End of the fight! We will decide on the victory." Vermeil said. At first glance, this seemed completely draw, so they all quickly discussed the final result. But they didn't get much because they were both attacks at the same time.
"We can't even get to the bottom line together, so the final result is a draw." Alto said at the end. Dan and Neider looked at each other.
"Now what?" Dan asked while scratching his head.
"Do I pass my victory or you mine?"
"How about a golden middle path?" Rachel asked.
"What do you mean?" Elena asked.
"Dan reveals what he knows about the Platinum organization and the assassins and then has a night with Neider that i watch."
This made both sides enthusiastic. This was not about Lilia, who struck her forehead with a completely red head.
"Where I am? I mean in real."She asked herself, to which Vermeil gave the answer, with a grin on her face.
"The best place of the world."
"All right, guys! Let's go get some food and I'll tell you everything I know. My treat." Dan said what the company agreed to. Alto, on the other hand, decided something on his mind. He ran to the Wolf Man.
"I'm sorry for asking, but can you teach me?"
"Are you seriously asking me that? Why aren't you nagging your M. I. L. F. girlfriend?"
"First of all, I am not a mother... yet. Second, one more comment like that and I'll peel your weiner like a banana with ten nails." Vermeil intervenes with his usual psychopath smile. Neider laughed. Dan also grinned satisfactorily.
"In response to your request, what can you give me in exchange for training?"
"I don't know. I don't have my gold, and like you said, I'm not your type. I couldn't stand it anyway, because I couldn't sit after two fingers for a day."
"Amateur. Anyway, how important is your girlfriend's life?"
"Very important. I promised him to protect her. For this reason I will do anything."
"And you paid. When I can, I train you. Is that fair?"
"Yes."
Alto held Dan's hand with a smile on his face. He used to think that Platinum Ranks mage or Assassins were all assholes, but Dan was a whole other thing.

They took a seat at a very elegant restaurant. Dan specifically chose the table so that no one could hear their conversation. Once the order was placed, the Wolf Man began to say.
"Well, then the team. Obviously, I do not have to talk about Xanon and Iolite on the dead or nothing. As for the black mourning which... is it called Helium?"
"Heliodor." Elena said.
"Indeed. Well, what I realized about it was able to open gates between the dimensions. This can also be used for offensive purposes by building a sphere around you. I learned this on my own fur, because my best blade was practically tore it. Fortunately, it's easy to notice. If you throw something near in this state it will vanish."
"I see. How much information do you have on Hell's assassins? I mean, besides you and Xanon." Alto asked.
"Well, I know of two. The original plan was for four of us to come to the city of Araraki. As a first step, in the Mausoleum of Memories, we take the crystals that are best hidden."
"That was Mizudaria and Oersted."
"Yes. the operation was successful and the two members escaped and hid in the city's slum. That's how I and Xanon stayed here."
"What do you know about that two?"
"in addition to the fact that the crystals will be delivered early the next morning to an unknown address? Well, I know for sure one of them has the most powerful spell. It is capable of making a line and hook from your arm. the range of a mileage and is able to penetrate the solid objects. The second one is... pass. All I add is that I got the hair on my back from that member. It seemed like a machine -free machine without a real human feeling. If I can believe the rumor, before Oersted took it, he was a doctor and performed transmutation experiments in older patients. I really don't know anything about the others."
Meanwhile, they brought out the food, which was first class. However, the interviews did not end while eating. Alto was faster, so he was the first.
"And what do you know about Oersted?"
Dan swallowed the bite and then answered after a little thinking.
"Well, what I know about it is that you have removed every trace from history that can be attached to it. Which is sure to be over a thousand years old. This age is typical of ancient demons. So, even in this case, he or she an old bone."
"And where and when are they going to take the crystals?" Elena asked.
"They start with train to Shiraki in two days in the early morning."
"It is one of the most insignificant cities in the world, so no one would expect it to be delivered there. I just don't understand why Heliodor doesn't come here and do it herself?"
"That's a good question, honey." Vermeil said.
"I have one assumption. He or she is realize, that you're getting stronger and he's afraid to send his or her best men far away. I mean, Alto and Vermeil are the ones he fears for his people. Don't get me wrong, you are strong too. On the other hand, is most afraid of his or her past revealed."
After that, not a single word was said on the subject until they had finished eating. In fact, everyone was preoccupied with their own thoughts.

When they finished and paid the bill, the company headed back to their hotel room. Elena, on the contrary, stopped the company.
"I need to said something."
"Is there any problem?" Lilia asked.
"No.. I mean, yes. I can't stay any longer. I'm leaving for Ortigia tomorrow morning. I have to supervise the rebuilding of the Academy."
"Are you sure, you can't stay with us?" Vermeil asked a little sadly.
"I really don't. Chris must be freaking out about having to run everything. She already specializes in aggression."
"It's okay. We will miss you."
They hugged Elena in a row, as if they had to say goodbye to her forever. She bowed at Neider and Rachel.
"Thank you for your training. Without it, I would probably be dead."
"You don't have to. You improved, we help that." Neider said.
In Vermeil's case, she took out a box.
"This is for you."
"Thank you... dear sky... that..."
"It made by High Priestess Fatema and left in her notes to give you."
Alto took a closer look at the ornament. It was a necklace decorated with a motif with two sockets in the middle. Furthermore, there was a message scratched into it's back.
"I hope you will be eternal happiness when you walk among people again. This will be the key to the final secrets once you get stuck." Vermeil read loud, and hugged Elena.
"I bet she was last happy when she tasted tiramisu... Or her boyfriend." Dan remarked with a half-smile towards Alto, and the company laughed. At the moment, Vermeil wasn't bothered that Dan had made a stinging comment again.

The next day was a free rest day for the whole company. Elena set off in a horse-drawn carriage towards Ortigia at dawn. Dan said he was going with the team, saying it was going to be fun. On that day, they booked a ticket for six to Shiraki early in the morning. At least this one day of peace means a lot to them.
