Chapter 6: Living Weapon.

An hour has passed since the battle. Vermeil stroked alto's head in their room. He still hasn't woken up from his coma. A knock broke the silence.
"Come in."
Neider opened the door, holding a bottle of sake, which he handed to Vermeil. She didn't usually drink, but now she accepted and almost poured the entire bottle down her throat.
"We buried your former opponent. The rest will come back soon."
Se just nodded as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"I don't understand. Why did the demon lock affect Alto? He's a human."
"I'm sorry to tell you so late, but the Soul Fusion gives the one weakness to the other. Since Alto was a demon in this case and Iloite had already started to turn the lock, so it influenced it. While he was in your body, he felt nothing of it, but when he returned to his own, he was already influenced by magic."
"Fuck this! He saw the whole thing a week ago and he kept having nightmares about it! And what did I do? I've been trivializing the whole thing. it Is true that only destruction and ruin come my path. I can't save my love."
Vermeil cried when Neider hugged him.
"You're a great demon and familiar to Alto. I bet right now he wants you to stop crying and especially not blame yourself. Sooner or later we will find the solution."
"How? Who can help this?"
"I can." Elena said in the doorway.

Vermeil just looked at her, before Elena wiped the tears from her eyes.
"As I said, I can help?"
"How?" Neider asked.
"Well, I never told anyone because I'm not a big fan of family stuff, but... do you remember High Priestess Fatema?"
"Yes. She locked me away around 1700 at my own request." Vermeil siad silently.
"Well, the truth is that I am a descendant of her mother's side and I recognized you the first time you entered the student council circles with Alto on your side."
"Why haven't you told anyone about this before?" Neider aked suspiciusly. Vermeil also stopped crying when she heard the information. Elena only smiled mysteriously.
"There are several reasons. The first one I think would have looked stupid if I told her. "Hi, Vermeil. My great-grandmother sealed you that book." second, I wanted to personally make sure that you're really just misjudged by the whole world. Luckily, Fatema's note was confirmed as he referred to you as a good friend. And third, but most importantly... I'm not a big fan of family stuff."
These answers were quite convincing. Elena continued with an unchanging smile.
"Fatema recorded the spell and I know it myself."
"So I can see inside alto's head?" Vermeil asked in a hopeful voice.
"Yeah, but unlike the situation where Alto did the same to you, there's a lot of risk involved here. I read his report so I know what I'm talking about. The point is that we can only look at it, but we cannot interfere in any way. Otherwise, it's in the deck that we'll be stuck there too."
"I don't care. Alto did it for me and helped me. Now it's my turn, so let's do it."
"Ok then. Make yourself comfortable."
Vermeil lay down next to Alto and hugged him. Neider left voluntarily. He felt he shouldn't stick his nose in it. Elena's hands formed a magic circle towards the two of them, then grabbed their wrists with her free hand.

Vermeil felt as if she were starting to fall. When the feeling ended, they reached a completely cold, two -story building. There was a horse -drawn carriage in his yard that was dragged out of a little boy. Barely four years old, covered in head-to-toe with wounds. His hands and feet were bound by chains and handcuffs so that he could not escape. His captor was a figure in a robe whose face was covered with a mask. Soon a very ornately dressed man came out. The captor noticed.
"I suggest you show some performance as soon as possible, Mizudaria. You've been assigned to Project Nemesis, so we're expecting results. Or you go to the baking sheet next to the other scrap."
"Don't worry. Master Oersted won't be disappointed. Alfa – 17- Omega will be excellent to achieve our noble goals."
Elena overtook Vermeil's question.
"The Nemesis Project is nothing more than the resurrection of a legendary demon hunter, Solidare. He was a golden manna and crystal user, just like Alto."
"So, that mean..."
"Yes, this little boy is Alto. He was born on a command and planned to die just like that."
Vermeil clenched her hands into fists. She was already angered by what she saw. Mizudaria grabbed the chains and jerked them hard, by the time the little Alto fell.
"Move, junk!"
"Yes, master."
The answer was heard and he got up. He led him into the building, then led her through long corridors to a cell. There he pushed Alto in, and when the door closed, the chains and handcuffs were gone. For ten minutes nothing happened. The little boy was lying in the middle of the cell. Hopelessness and desire for death showed it. Elena no longer smiled, just biting her lower lip. Vermeil is also completely angry.
"And they call me as a scourge."
"I have a feeling that it's just the beginning." Elena added. Her voice was also anger.

After a while, the cell door opened and a young demon girl was pushed in. She was barely older than Alto. It was then that Mizudaria stopped on the other side of the grid.
"Alpha – 17 -Omega! I command you to kill the demon who brought ruin to this world. NOW!"
Alto got up and summoned a sharper crystal in his hand. The Demon girl just begged for her life. He raised his weapon to strike her, but the look in his eyes and the trembling of his hands meant the obvious. e has no intention of killing her. Mizudaria, on the other hand, was impatient.
"I said... KILL HER!"
"No! She's not evil. I will not take her life." Alto moaned and threw the crystal. The man then shook Alto with an electric magic. And then the demon girl got some of it, who seemed to die in it.
"I'm disappointed in you. After all, you are a waste, even though you are a perfect clone at first."
Mizudaria retreated. The little Alto lay utterly helpless. Vermeil would have preferred to hug him on the ground. There was an argument outside. A handsome, wealthy businessman stood not far from the cell, arguing with Mizudaria.
"We said clearly that we expect results! And you're cultivating scrap instead of destroying it like the rest of the unviable waste!"
"I swear Alpha – 17-Omega will be the best and most promising Demon Hunter. Just give me more time!"
"You received one month and you just only failed. I don't care as your son, because you are an impotent fuck and your wife made it artificially. Master Oersted won't wait any longer, so you have a choice. you destroy the scrap, or we will, along with you. You get an hour."
"Yes, sir."
Twenty minutes later, Alto's cell opened and Mizudaria entered.
"I'm really sorry for what I'm about to do. I tried to be a good father to you and postpone your elimination, but I have no choice."
"No... please..."Alto moaned helplessly, but it did not achieve any effect.
"I could say I'll see you again, but that would be a lie. You will go to heaven, while I will rot in hell. I promise you won't feel anything and you'll be happy in the other side."

Mizudaria had an electric beam in his hand and was about to fire it, but a huge piece of Crystal pierced his head. Alto got up and went forward without saying a word. The sound of sirens was heard throughout the building. The little boy almost left the cells when he heard outside that at least a dozen mage were waiting for him. A sound amplified by magic broke the siren.
"Attention! Alpha – 17- Omega escaped from his cell! All deployable mages should appear immediately on the main nodes! The subject cannot escape from the building!"
Alto opened the door and received a dozen magic bullets of various elements, but he didn't back down a single inch. Vermeil saw why: He just shield himself with crystal. His opponents again tried to dispose of him, but in the blink of an eye a plethora of crystal fragments pierced their bodies. Alto walked slowly to the exit. He took down the opponents attacking him in seconds. When he got to the yard, there were already about a hundred people waiting outside. The businessman was at the very back and spoke in a magically amplified voice.
"Alpha 17-Omega! Stop right now and go back to your cell! Otherwise we will be forced to destroy you!"
The threat had no effect on Alto, it only stopped for a moment. They already thought it was over, but all were skewered by a crystal column growing out of the ground. Only after this he will go to the exit. The businessman lived only, who watched the little boy walking. He couldn't move anymore.
"Our goal was to make the strongest weapon against demons."
"You did well." Alto said silently and walk to the exit.

Vermeil and Elena watched the events in shocked They saw Alto had been marching for at least half an hour while the power ran out of his feet. Leaning down the wall to look at the sky.
"Well, that would be the secret that was suppressed in him, and your training brought it to the surface." Elena whispered. Vermeil stopped crying. She wanted to help him.
"Put it right there right away."
"No. I've said the risk and I don't want to..."
"I don't care. Put me down immediately, otherwise, he will remain forever in this hellish cycle."She cut her word and looked at her. In her eyes, Elena saw that she had completely decided. Her eyes closed to murmur the magic spell. Vermeil's feet hit the ground. She went to little Alto and held out her hand.
"What am I? Who am I? Machine? A soldier born for killing? Junk who should not exist in the world?"
"You are neither. I know your real side. You are the greatest person I have ever met."
Alto only looked into her eyes. Vermeil got down on one knee and stroked his face.
"When you relased me, I see only a cute guy in you. As time went on, I saw more and more in you the dedication, the pursuit of good, you're kind heart and the fact that you are always looking for the real side of things. You are the reason that I exist. You give me the happiness I've been looking for centuries. I am grateful to be your familiar, your girlfriend and the mother of our future children. No amount of words or actions can repay what you have done for me. I remember well what you said back then. If the world turns against you, you will stay with me. I can only say the same."
Then alto hugged his girlfriend. It wasn't that little boy anymore, it was the real Alto. He cried, but very quietly. Vermeil stroking her back.
"You're right. I am grateful to be here with me." he said silently.
"You don't have to thank me. You used to do it for me, now I'm doing it for you. That's the whole point of a real relationship, isn't it?" Vermeil asked. Elena landed next to us.
"The demon lock is broken. You succeeded. Now you're back to reality, along with Alto."

Then Vermeil felt the fall again. When it was over, she opened his eyes. Next to him, Alto wiped her eyes. Then she hugged him immediately.
"Alto! I'm so sorry I didn't pay attention to the signs."
"You don't have to. I feel better now. You're just gonna choke me with your tits."
"That would also be a beautiful death." Elena smiled. She turned to Vermeil with a tearful smile.
"I'm grateful to you too, Elena. You helped me a lot."
"You're welcome."
"Don't you think for me as an evil demon?"
"Not from the beginning. Even with Alto, I had no doubt that there was no evil in you. However, it has now been proven that you have never been. A real demon never cry. However, I will leave you alone for now and tell the others the good news. I keep what I see under lock and key."

Then she left the room and closed the door. Downstairs she told the company the news, who applauded as one. Lilia also smiled, but felt that she still had a talk with Vermeil. She need to know the other part of the truth.
