Chapter 12: Demon Village
Alto, Vermeil and the demon children arrived at the camp. Nobody noticed their absence as everyone was asleep like a coat.
"Where is your parents?" Alto whispered.
"We don't know. We have been kidnapped for a long time." answered the one on whose head some ornament appeared.
"Vermeil. Do you have any idea where the Demons have any villages or towns?"
"Why are you asking me? When they I was closed, there was no chance of settlement."
"Don't let the dolphins go away until I sweep up."Dan whispered in his sleep.
"Then rest here. In the morning we ask the company if such a place exists."
"Thank you."The childrens said quietly. Fortunately, with the two sleeping bags spread out, they all fit. Alto and Vermeil continued to keep watch. Until dawn, nothing else noteworthy happened.
In the morning, however, Rachel, Neider and Dan were baffled by the events of the evening.
"They're so cute." Lilia said with delightful voice. "Will you have such children like that?"
To this question, double blush a little.
"That's not the point! Rather, what are demon children doing here?" Neider asked. Then Vermeil reported on their trip last night. Rachel only watched them with an expressionless face.
"Does anyone have any idea where a village or a town inhabited by demons?" Alto asked, but the answer a surprising way. They spotted an individuals on five horses, who was approaching them. Neider disengaged the cloaking spell so they could see his horns and tail. When they were close enough, they stopped their horses.
"Release the children now! this is the order of our Queen!" cried one of them. Vermeil and Neider stood in front of them.
"We didn't kidnap the children!" Neider shout.
"We freed them!"
"Are you demons?" asked one of the most ornate dress and then came to the company. Red -haired, grumpy face and muscular figure, who just looked them confused.
"Yes. But, there are humans with us, and also a Beastman."
"Humans? Don't be kidding me, Belial! You know well that humans are all filthy, ignorant, primitive and want to destroy demons."
"Then here's the objection in front of your eyes." Alto said confidently and approached the group. The one in fancy dress stepped closer and just looked into his eyes. After a while he laughed.
"It's really human. But I don't understand why you help demons? Anyway, it's not my job. My name is Jin and I am the warlord for the village of Sodo. After a while, a horse carriage arrives. Get in. Since you saved those demon kids so my Queen will be willing to welcome you."
"All right." Alto said and turned. Vermeil embraced.
"That was crazy, honey." she whispered right to his ear. "Not all demons are friendly."
"If he attacked us, I could take down." he replied. When they got to the camp, the kids had breakfast. Rachel made the food.
"They'll be here soon. They want us to go with them." Neider said.
"We can go home?" the childrens asked.
"Yes." Rachel said with a smile. "Alto! How do you like eggs and sausages?"
"Vermeil's answer to that is sure. "Jerked in the morning, stroked in the evening. I love the sausage thick, juicy and between my lower lips.""said Dan with a laugh.
"You need something between your lips too. Namely, my fingernails to make a sieve out of your tongue, doggie." she replied back, crushing her fingers.
"Morons." Lilia sighed between two bites. The kids didn't even care about the argument.
An hour later, the team and the kids were in a horse -drawn carriage. Alto has noticed that the demons look at him with the degree of disgust like a dog shit in their shoes soles. Given the past, he was not surprised. The others had fun with the kids. Lilia, for example, showed me how to make a flower ring. After a while, they felt that they were stepped in something invisible.
"This is a special shield developed by the Demons. Unfortunately, it is not as strong as mine and can be easily broken." Neider explained. Alto looked out of the car. They've already crossed the village of Sodo. Each house was made of clay-like material, and each had a garden. People gathered on the main square. It was just a marketplace where the priced ones sold their goods. The car finally stopped.
"You can get out." said Jin, who led the horses. When the company complied with the request, many demons came to them. Unsurprisingly, they all had horns on their heads. Yermeil put her arm around Alto. For a reason, because like Alto, he was bombarded with pretty ugly looks. Neider and Lilia didn't get fair treatment either, but in the case of Rachel, Dan and Vermeil, for some reason they didn't dare to look them in the eye. In the meantime, Jin got out and bowed to a woman, who leaving the brick house. The company figured out the reason for the demon warlord's action as they looked at the her. Her ornate black dress greatly highlighted her thin shape and huge breasts. Her long black hair was laid, her face couldn't read anything at the moment. When she listened to Jin's speech, she stood in front of the company.
"Greetings. My name is Irit. Leader of Sodo village."
Then they introduced themselves and leaned in. Alto and Rachel found it better to cover their familiar seal if they could flash. None of them liked to die by the hands of a complete demon army.
"Through my warlord, I learned that you had freed the kids that kidnapped from our village. I am very grateful for it. Humans imagine a lot about themselves and rob in line. Children are sold on the slave market while adults are simply slaughtered to make all kinds of medicinal drinks and weapons from our blood and body parts. I don't understand why there is not one here, but immediately two demon-man duos and a single girl."
"It's simple." Alto said. Vermeil tried to hold his mouth but failed to succeed."Not everything in this world is black and white. There are people like me who don't care about the race. It is more important thing is heart and kindness."
Irit bent down to look into his eyes and then smiled.
"Naivety is a great thing, but also the biggest poison. However, I am not grateful... unlike humans. Since you have done a lot for our village, we are happy to welcome you. In the evening, we celebrate the anniversary of the village anyway. Of course, we also look forward to it."
"Thank you. We participate on it." Neider said with a bow.
"In the meantime, take a look around. If you're staying the night, my apartment is quite spacious."
Lilia, Alto and Rachel found it better to stay in the apartment. Vermeil was quite gloomy, which is rare from her.
"I don't understand, honey. Why do you have to react to every statement you don't like?" she asked when they drank the tea served in the living room. The staff also seemed to kill them already if they didn't tie their hands.
"it's simple. I'm tired of hearing the same stereotypical shit all the time. You and Neider are living proof that everything in the world cannot be condemned at first sight."
"You're sweet, but I must disappoint you. Demons are incredibly narrow-minded. Since they were constantly persecuted and have no rest here, they will not take the words of a man who came and went seriously."
"It is unfortunately true." Lilia sighed. "Even in spite of the shounen rule, that the protagonist says any nonsense, takes the plot forward, it does not work here now."
"They'll see that I'm right, sooner or later." Alto grumbled when Vermeil was hugged. "By the way, I noticed that Neider is called Belial."
"That was his old name. It's just that since there's a lot of bad things going on with his name, I named him Neider when he became my familiar." Rachel answered.
"Moreover, they do not dare to look into the eyes of Dan, Rachel or Vermeil. I mean, okay, two out of three is logical..."
"Because of my past." Vermeil answered softly. "Since everyone knew my story and in the 1500's the catholic church wanted to exterminate our kind, it was a good idea to make propaganda out of me."
Dan and Neider came in. Their face could be written down the bad news.
"We won't be replenishing our stocks here either." Dan said. "There is a barter trade here. Gold is of no use to us."
"We managed to get Irit to get horses the next day. With that will be a little faster."
"I can't ride." Lilia said.
"We can teach you." Rachel said.
"Vermeil can. Although, the last time she got into an accident, and she hit her head on the night stand."
For Dan's reaction, Vermeil kicked the chair from underneath. Everyone laughed. Alto stood up and would just go out to breathe a little while standing in front of Vermeil.
"Are you running away from our private training?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You know it well. We missed it last night but now..."
Vermeil caught up with her boyfriend with a lustfully smile and turned to the company.
"Then we'll be in our room until the evening."
"Have fun." Dan said with laugh. The others set out to look around the village and help prepare for the celebration. But this was given up soon enough because every friendly intent was struck with negative reply.
In the evening, the demons really celebrated. For this occasion, six wild boars, ten hens and five sheep were baked on skew. Also, bread, eggs, vegetables, cheeses and various alcohols place on the table. The company was amused, but they had no intention of sharing a word with the other demons. There is nothing surprising about it, as they wherever they look, they only get blasphemous glances. Irit did not try to help the situation. It was visible to she tolerate them only because of the saving of the kids. As they filled their stomachs, a young demon gave them a pipe with special notches per capita that had some green tobacco mixed in. Alto, without thinking, lit the tobacco and smoked it deep. The stuff scratched his throat but managed to keep the smoke down. When he breathed it out, he felt carefree and happy at the same time. He just sat in the chair and listened to Dan and Neider talking.
"And then the guy asks me. "Why does the hen not have nipples?".My answer is simple. "Old man, have you ever seen eggs breastfeeding?""
He laughed with them. In other cases, he wouldn't do it, but he reached for the wine and drove in. Looking to the right, he saw Lilia's dring with the demon guy who gave the pipe. "Apparently, she's trying to copy me." he laughed so hard at this thought. Some band also started a very acoustic music. By the sixth glass, he had already felt that this was unwise. He got up and went to a darker place and threw up. Vermeil went with him, who remained sober.
"Are you all right, honey?"
"I think I'm drunk as fuck." Alto grumbled. Then a deep voice sounded in his head.
"Use your power, mortal."
"Shut up, Ridoku. I can't believe you made the moon." he answered silently. Vermeil put her arm around him and then picked him up.
"You need a little sober up and a good slepping."
"Fine."
By morning, when Alto woke up, he was somewhat hungover. He had a headache, and he was dizzy. He lay on Vermeil, using her tits as a pillow.
"Good morning, honey." Vermeil whispered softly.
"You too, darling. What happened last night?"
"Let's put it by doing something you would be soberly incapable of." he said, while looked on the floor. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Let's take a bath and eat a good one. I'll clean it later.
Vermeil's idea put Alto in a much better state. At breakfast, Neider, Dan, and Rachel were all hangover state.
"What was in that pipe?" Rachel asked, who looks like the most hangovered state.
"Must be a little marihony." Dan sighed.
"Or a kilo of marif's hair." Alto continued the queer.
"None of them. Original marijuana made by demons. Much stronger than the human version." Neider answered the question.
"That's why I didn't suck it directly. I knew Alto got high and drunk at the same time and I got right."
"Thanks, darling, I love you too. By the way, where is Lillia?"
The company looked up. She was nowhere to be seen. Dan said she wasn't even in his room when he woke up.
"Last time, she was really close with some demon guy. I bet she still has his home." Vermeil said with a naughty laughter.
"Perhaps she is sobering up at the foot of some house or she's in another room."
"None of them are good answers."
Everyone was surprised at this thin voice. It was one of the rescued kid and now wearing clean clothes. Leaned in front of the company and introduced.
"My name is Lillith, Irit's daughter. My mother forbade me to tell you, but I owe you to break her word. Lilia will be sacrificed to our god at noon."
Everybody was shocked for that information.
"Why?" Alto asked.
"My mother taught me to respect our traditions. In addition, it is also implicated in her desire to take revenge on humans in this way."
"Then the whole invitation was just a scam?" Dan asked.
"Yes, it was the whole bait. My mother saved the kidnapping. One day this whole place will be crushed by humans, if we does'nt break the vicious circle. However, no one here is willing to abolish sacrifice, as no one has shown the other side of the coin."
Then she began crying. Alto walked over to her and hugged. He fully agreed with Lillith.
"Then something has to be planned. Because we only have two hours left." Dan said with serious voice."
"Ok, but what? If we started destroying it here, we would only make the situation worse." Vermeil noted.
"What about blackmailing?" Rachel asked.
"That's not our style." Neider replied. Alto has a good idea.
"What if we acted blackmail?"
"Who would you blackmail her with? Irit doesn't really seem that soft-hearted. I'm sure a demon can't change her mind.
"Then use us! Mom will definitely let Lilia go." Lillith said.
"Us? You are alone."
"No, because you see things badly. Guys! Come in!"
Then all the released kids came in.
"There's really no need for that." Alto said with surprised tone.
"We owe you one. If my mother refuses to give back, then we will."
"Thank you and I promise not to hurt everybody."
Alto summoned five crystals that were blunt, but from a distance they looked like real knives. They quickly discussed a plan and started.
In the main square of the village, there is a huge podium. In the middle of it was Lilia tied up and naked. The young demon was nominated as a preparatory, while Irit took the sacrifice that was to tear off her heart.
"Is this how you repay us?" Lilia cried.
"There is nothing personal in this. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The remaining two hmans are protected by the two strongest demons, so they were unlikely to kidnap them. But you on the other hand..."
"You're not better than the humans you hate! Because of this, your village will be destroyed! Men will be killed, women will be raped and your children will be sold into slave market! Is that what you really want?!"
Irit slapped her in the face.
"Shut up, human! We follow our traditions that were set up when you didn't even exist."
"Empress! It's noon." the demon guy said.
"Great. My demon brothers and sisters! Another year has come to bestow and pay tribute to Odio, who will one day bring destruction to humanity! This human sacrifice shows in abundance how devoted..."
The company arrived at the rhetoric. They went directly from the side. Alto summoned a crystal and targeted Irit's hand. When it reached for the knife, he fired. It went right past her face and crashed into the wall of her house. Everyone looked at that. At this time, they all raised the received crystals to the throat of the children.
"Release our friend, right now!" Vermeil shouted.
"I get it now. You blackmail me, think that I will voluntarily go into the victim from threatening with my daughter."
"Mom! Help me!" Lillith begged, but Irit's face didn't shake, at least apparently.
"I am very sorry, but take comfort in knowing that Odio, the most powerful demon, will benefit your soul as well."
"You brain-dead fools! Do you have any idea who you're sacrificing to? To the ancient demon of hate, one of the lengendary Four Horsemen of the apocalypse! All life forms are inferior to her!" Neider shout with rage.
"You're wrong, Belial. She is the one who saved countless of my brothers from death. Tradition is important and you know that well. At this point, you can slit their throats, but nothing will change in the end."
Alto's eyes seemed to have run out of patience. He released Lillith and then hit Irit in the face with a well-aimed assault.
"How dare..."
"Is it tradition? Then I could wipe out your village and impale every fucking demon for the same fucking reason! Or Vermeil, even Neider could do that! You're a bunch of cowardly, disgusting, two-faced people! Are you lamenting that people are hate of you, but you're treating us like worms? Just look at yourself!"
Alto's rage froze everyone. Nobody wamt to go there. Irit, on the other hand, was angry and would have been to fight.
"Who the hell are you to be smart around here?"
"My name is Alto Goldfield, but also known as Alpha – 17 – Omega. The junk of the Nemesis project.
Irit's anger was taken over by shock. Her vision of the world completely collapsed.
"Were you the one who didn't want to kill me? Were you that junk back then?"
Alto was now a series of surprises, but he didn't want to get out of his role.
"Yes, I am. Now let me ask you a few questions. Can we call it a real gratitude that you look at us like garbage? And can you call it gratitude that you kill one of us? Don't you really feel the contradiction you generate?"
Irit bend to her kneel.
"You're absolutely right. I'll let the human girl go, but you let the kids go too."
"They were never our hostages. They agreed to act it. To be honest, they're much smarter than you. Especially your daughter, Lillith."
"Indeed. And I would have pushed her into the crossfire. Then I'll give my life into your hands. You can take it with full right."
Alto started walking towards her. She was already preparing for death. She closed his eyes, but instead of pain, she felt a warm hand on his head. Looking up, she saw that, he was stroking her head.
"I will not kill anyone, because then my goals will be nullified. Also, I'd spit Vermeil in the eye. The girl I love with all my heart."
The company and the kids got up there.
"But I feel that you have a familial seal and control Vermeil." Irit said with a little shock.
"True, but she did it voluntarily."
"Actually... nevermind. I won't pull the chapter any longer." Vermeil sighted.
"Furthermore, despite the rumours, she does not want to destroy, so as Neider. Currently other goals float in front of our eyes."
"And what was that?"
"Hmans and other races may live in peace, harmony and equality in the future. This is my golden Wind, and so is theirs!"
Then Alto was in the same pose as he did before Vermeil on top of the mansion. Irit hugged her daughter while Dan freed Lilia and put her cloak on her.
"Thank you for sparing our lives and I hope you will forgive me."
"If you vow that you never sacrifice people again, then yes."
"And in return, we'll provide the place with proper protection, so no more raiding parties will find it." Neider noted. Irit stood up and turned to her people, who did not even dare to speak.
"My demon brothers and sisters! We misjudged the humans! Not all of them are evil and despicable, rather, we have sunk to that level! However, there is still a way back and therefore I will make the following decision. We're not going to make any more sacrifices to Odio. instead, we will work to bring peace to our lands. From this day forward, Alto, Vermeil, Rachel, Dan, Neider and Lilia will be treated like everyone else!"
The demons began to applaud. This nigtmarte was over.
In the evening, Neider pulled the same protective magic he had for Rachel's mansion. Demons were much more friendly with them. Irit promised to teleported them in Staus, where they could get a horse carriage for free. Also, their stocks have been filled and they also get brand new tents. In the next morning they continue their journey. Alto and Vermeil looked at the starry sky, all huddled together.
"Look! A shooting star!" Alto said, showing toward the Big Dipper.
"Wished something?" Vermeil asked with a smile.
"I don't need it, since you are here for me."
"You're such a cute pie." she said, and turned his gaze to the left. Dan smoked a cigarette next to them. "But you're sour as a lemon.
"I know, but fit my character." he replied with pride.
"By the way, Lilia is currently with the demon guy she was talking to at the party."
"She goes well with him, compared the fact to trying to execute her recently. Anyway, where do you know?"
"She asked me to what pick up on her to make the guy love her."
"Let me guess your answer. You legs, right up your ear."
"You're smart, honey." Vermeil said and kissed him.
"An answer expected of a true succubus." Dan replied and laughed.
The company was at dawn, carefree and fresh, ready for further travel. Irit was waiting there among the wizards.
"Thank you again for opening my eyes. May luck accompany you on your journey."
With this phrase, she set off the teleport spell, which took them to Staus. Alto, Vermeil and Lilia did not think that an unexpected visitor at Ortigia Academy attacked the student council.
