First off. I was originally going to not introduce a certain person till a few chapters later, but hey. Eri is here so why not give her a chance to shine? So Stain is going to get his ass kicked next chapter. It would be have been this chapter,  but I dont want a really long chapter. Also, I'm back! My incision is still healing but I'm good enough to write again! I'm working on a drawing of Eri as Rojo right now, so expect that to be in the next chapter. Thanks for the support while I was healing from surgery, guys. I really appreciated it :)

Izuku sighed for the 54th time since they've been in the waiting room for Class 1-A. This was it. Today was the day the world got to see just who their future protectors were. This would either make or break them. So, you can see why he was rather perturbed at the moment. Everyone would be watching them, just waiting to find something wrong with them so they could point out which students had the best shot at heroics and which should just give up and go home. No doubt being quirkless would be a factor in people's judgment of him. Most people weren't fond of the quirkless after all. Typical. 

"Hey, Zuku. Are you alright?" Ojiro asked with concern on his face.

Izuku looked up from where he was wringing his hands and smiled nervously.  "Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just a little nervous is all. I'm just kind of worried about how people will react to me out there today."

Ojiro pat Izuku on his back reassuringly. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. You're going to knock their socks off today, I just know it! ." Ojiro grinned.

"I'm just glad I got them to approve the bo-staff. Even if it's a normal metal one, I'm still glad I get to use it. Not that I need it to kick ass, but it helps to have help." Izuku said.

Todoroki walked up to them and Izuku pushed himself off the lockers with a sigh. "Midoriya, objectively I'm stronger than you-"

"Yeah, that's a no-brainer." Izuku grumbled.

"-However, there's more to you then it seems and I'll defeat you." Todoroki finished.

"Uh-huh. Okay, keep telling yourself that." Izuku snarked back.

Todoroki growled under his breath as he walked away. However, Bakugo jumped up to yell, "you're challenging the wrong person damn Iceyhot!"

Izuku blocked out his classmates as he tried to focus on calming himself down. Being stressed out would not help him out in the slightest today. He needed to be calm and rational. He also needed to be careful. One slip up in his fighting skills and any hero out there might recognize him as Verde. He was going to have to refrain from losing himself in the heat of the moment. Izuku and Verde had different fighting skills. Verde antagonized and went head-on. Izuku took his time and acted as a logical hero in training should. That's not to say he didn't forget to not be cheeky at times. The USJ being a prime example of him losing himself to the moment. He just needed to make sure Verde didn't come out at all today. Alright, easy enough.

Present Mic announced "HEY! MAKE SOME NOISE YOU RABID SPORTS FANS! GET THOSE CAMERAS PREP YOU MEDIA HORDES!! THIS YEAR WE'RE BRINGING YOU THE HOTTEST PERFORMANCES IN SPORTS FESTIVAL HISTORY GUARANTEED. I'VE ONLY GOT ONE QUESTION BEFORE WE START THIS SHOW. ARE YOU READY?! LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM AS OUR STUDENTS MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE BIG STAGE."

*insert rest of speech because dear God did he say a lot of shit before the introductory speech!!!*

"Now for the introductory speech!"

People cheered as others whispered their opinions on the outfit of Midnight.

"Silence everyone! And for the student pledge, we have IZUKU MIDORIYA!!!" Midnight explained.

"Wait what-" Izuku cried out.

"It's just a speech, you can do it. You were told you would have to do it a few weeks ago, remember?" Ojiro said.

"I don't remember hearing that! And there's  a lot of people watching us!!!" Izuku responded.

"Just go and do it already." Ojiro smiled as he pushed izuku forward.

Izuku nervously made his way to the stage and grabbed the microphone. "Uh, hey everyone.  I'm Midoriya, but you probably already knew that."

Laughter filled the air.

"Some of you may know me as the quirkless kid who beat All Might's score in the entrance exam. Anyways, I just wanted to say that we should all try our best! Just because you're not in a heroics class or haven't faced off against villains yet doesn't mean you can't do well here today! In fact, I bet at least one non-heroics class student will win in the top three today! So let's give it our all and go plus ultra!!!" Izuku cheered.

Izuku handed the mic back to Midnight and quickly made his way over to Ojiro who was now standing next to Shinso and Mei. Great, the team is already together.

"Nice speech Midori!" Mei beamed as she checked her gadgets she was currently wearing.

"Yeah, it was nice to hear some words of encouragement. Although, you do realize you just outed yourself as quirkless to all our opponents as well?" Shinso pointed out.

"Oh, Midori! I've got some stuff for you guys to use in the 2nd round! We may not know what it is yet, but chances are it's either a team-up event or free for all. Either way, we can still team up if we want." Mei said mischievously.

"That's great, Mei. So, you guys ready?" Izuku beamed.

"Without further ado, it's time for us to get started! This is the game you've all been waiting for.  The game where you'll feel the pain. The first fateful game of the festival." Midnight yelled.

"Bet it involves some sort of running." Ojiro said.

"What could it be... tada! All 11 classes will participate in this treacherous contest that stretches 4 kilometers around the outside of the stadium. I don't want to have to restrain anyone, at least so far. So as long as you stay in the course you're free to do as your heart desires. Now take your places contestants."

Izuku states, "We should probably stay closer to the back right now. That narrow tunnel seems to be a death trap. Mei, you got anything that could help us get past it?"

" I can jet us over the tunnel with my jetpack! I made sure to make it durable against a lot of the heroics course quirks so it wouldn't get damaged and it should support all of our weight." Mei responded.

"Good, we're going over the tunnel then. I have a feeling Todoroki might pull a trick at the start of the race." Izuku nodded.

The three boys latched onto mei as the countdown began. "BEGAN" Midnight yelled.

Everyone raced towards the tunnel as Mei started up her jetpack. "Hang on boys, this rides going to be bumpy!"

They shoot off the ground and over the tunnel. Looking down they could see Todoroki coming out of the other side of the tunnel and freezing the ground.

"AND WE'RE OFF WITH A SHOCKING START! MEI HATSUME AND THREE OTHER STUDENTS HAVE JETTED OVER THE TUNNEL AND ARE HEADING FOR THE ROBO INFERNO! TODOROKI SEEMS TO HAVE FROZEN HIS COMPETITION! GOT ANYTHING TO SAY MY MAN?" Present Mic commented.

"How did you get me to do this again?" Aizawa sighed.

"WHAT SHOULD WE BE LOOKING FOR?!

"The doorway." Aizawa responded.

"I knew he would do something like that. Man, Bakugo looks pissed." Izuku laughed.

"Hang on, we're almost at the robots-"

"Wait Mei, I want to grab a panel from one of them in case we need it for later. I can see some sort of minefield on the other end of the race and I think I have an idea." Izuku grinned.

"Oh. I like how you think! Are those the zero pointers you had to face off?" Mei smiled.

"Yep, I'm surprised they even allowed them to be used in the sports festival after what happened in my testing area. It nearly killed Uraraka." Izuku informed.

"Well, I'm going to enjoy blowing it up!" With a feral grin, Mei tapped her feet together twice before screaming, "MEGA BEAM STRIKE THOSE ROBOTS!!!"

A cannon popped out of her jet pack and aimed at robots before firing five rockets at them.

"MEI HATSUME AND COMPANY HAVE ARRIVED TO THE ROBOTS AND- WAIT WAS THAT A ROCKET LAUNCHER?!?!? LOOK AT THAT EXPLOSION!!! SHE JUST TOOK OUT FIVE ZERO POINTERS!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!"

Mei swooped down as she said, "I think I should drop you guys off here. As much as I want to help you guys out, you need to show off your worth as well."

"Thanks Mei. See you guys at the mines.  I've got an idea that might get us in a four-way tie for first place!" Izuku chuckled.

They agreed to meet up at the minefield and they all took off into sprints, except Izuku who grabbed a peice of the robot before attaching it to his back. He ran forward, determined to prove just how strong he and his friends could be to the people watching them.

As he neared the fall, he could see his friends getting on the ropes. Well, Mei just started to grapple across.

"STUDENTS HAVE MADE IT TO THE FALL! CAREFUL, ONE MISSTEP WILL BE YOU'RE DOWNFALL."

Izuku jumped onto the rope and basically started naruto running across it and going from one platform to another rather quickly.

"I DON'T BELIEVE IT! IZUKU MIDORIYA IS NARUTO RUNNING ACROSS THE FALLS AS IF HE WAS BORN TO DO IT!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!"

Izuku smiled as he heard the crowd freak out over him. Let them have their shock. It was time to prove to the world that quirkless didn't mean worthless. That he wasn't made of glass. That he was here to be a hero and nothing would stand in his way!

He eventually passed up Shinso and Ojiro, catching up with Mei. Todoroki was close behind them and there was no way he was going to let him pass them. As they neared the minefield, izuku pulled out his peice of metal and yelled at Mei, "Start digging up mines. If we have a big enough pile, we'll be sent flying straight to the finish line! It might sound crazy, but it shows ingenuity to those scouting!"

"Oh, I like how you think!" Mei cackled.

Ojiro and Shinso showed up and heard most of what Izuku said.

"You're crazy, Izuku, but I'm in!" Shinso sighed.

"Nothing like scaring the shot out of the viewers." Ojiro replied.

After they managed to dig up a big enough pile, Izuku asked everyone to hang on to the metal (which is hard with four people) and jump onto the pile of mines. Todoroki and Bakugo had already passed them up while they were digging up mines, but that didn't matter.

"WHAT'S WITH THAT EXPLOSION, IT'S WAY MORE POWERFUL THAN IT SHOULD BE! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! MEI HATSUME AND HER COMPANY HAVE ONCE AGAIN PULLED OFF A SHOCKING FEAT!!! THERE SHOOTING STRAIGHT TOWARDS THE FINISH LINE!"

"We actually are going to get a four-way tie, huh." Shinso smiled.

"We'll probably land in the middle of the field." Mei calculated.

"Don-t look now, but the angry pomeranian is yelling at you." Ojiro sighed.

"Bakugo? Good then. It's about time someone deflated his ego." Izuku rolled his eyes.

They landed roughly in the center of the arena.

"AND THERE TOU HAVE IT, FOLKS!!! A FOUR-WAY TIE FOR FIRST PLACE!!! NEVER HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED IN ANY COMPETITION IN THE HISTORY OF UA SPORTS FESTIVALS!!! IZUKU MIDORIYA, HITOSHI SHINSO, MASHIRAO OJIRO, AND MEI HATSUME ARE IN FIRST PLACE!!!"

"We did it... we actually did it!!!" Izuku cried out as he jumped up and down repeatedly with excitement.

"Can't wait to see what they have to offer to us next. Whatever it is, we're going to blow them away, right Midori?" Mei asked.

"Damn right we will!" Izuku declared.

Other students started to pass the finish line and one certain blond came storming towards them.

"DEKU-"

"Yes, Bakugo? You need something, your highness?" Izuku responded with a deadly glare. "I'm pretty sure quirk discrimination and harassment won't do you any favors with the heroes watching. You wouldn't want them to not recruit you for internships over bullying, now would you?"

Bakugo growled before stumping off to somewhere else. Mei went to grab her other support items so they could use them in the 2nd round. Nine out of ten times the 2nd round was a team-themed battle so she was confident that they would be able to use her items as a group.

"Alright,  I've got a few sets of rocket boots, taser gloves, a small purple version of Eraserhead's scarf that shoots out electrical currents, an electric staff, sleep bombs, tear gas, smoke bombs, compact pocket fire extinguisher to use on explosives boy, and my jet pack with built-in rocket launchers and grappling hooks. But you guys saw me using that last item in the last round." Mei informed them enthusiastically. "Think I can hack into the speakers to announce my items as I use them? I have a few more boxes of items, but I'm saving them for the final round."

Eventually, everyone else arrived and they announced the next game. It was a cavalry team battle. Unfortunately, or fortunately, if you acknowledge that they wouldn't lose any points as a team, they got 10 million points each for being in first place. That meant that as a team, they had 40 million points. Yeah, everyone was definitely going after them in this round.

"Okay, let's get all the gear on. Who's our rider?" Mei inquired.

"I'll be the rider. I'm a master at using a staff and I can swing the electric staff at anyone who comes for the points. You need to be one of the horses to man your gear, Toshi can't be the rider because he needs to save his quirk for the last round, and Mashi's tail is great for defense from attacks on the sides. Though, I'm guessing we'll be in the air most of the time with the rocket boots. The electric scarf would be best for Toshi to use seeing he has been practicing with chain whips. I could use the taser gloves for when the staff isn't enough to keep others at bay. The bombs can be thrown by Mei and Mashi. The combat fire extinguisher could also be held by Mei. I trust you to go all out if Bakugo attacks us."

~~~Round starts~~~

They immediately went into the air to avoid all the teams coming after them. "Ready to decommission some of the opposing forces?" Izuku asked.

Mei cackled as she threw down some sleep bombs. "That will take out a few teams!"

"Attack coming from the left!" Izuku called out.

"On it!" Shinso responded as he shot out the taser scarf that was wrapped around his arm. Monoma fell to the ground, stunned by the scarf. "I like this scarf a lot. Mei."

Bakugo was screaming as he flew towards them. Mei sprayed the fire hydrant on him but sadly Sero caught him before he could hit the ground.

They managed to avoid the other teams for the most part. Occasionally, Izuku would tase someone with his staff and at one point he had to use his gloves on a certain ivy haired student. There was a minute left, and the rocket boots were starting to power down. So they had to go back to the ground. It was right about then that Kaminari let out his electricity attack. Thankfully their boots were shock-proof. Unfortunately, Team Todoroki had shot out ice walls to box Team Midoriya in. Iida mentioned he had an idea and that was all it took for Izuku to be alarmed.

"TEAR GAS NOW!!!" Izuku screeched.

Mei complied and nailed Todoroki in the face with the tear gas bomb as they sped towards them. Todoroki accidentally used his fire side of his quirk. Apparently, it was a reaction to the assault on his eyes. They burned so bad. Why did they hurt so bad? Who the hell ALLOWED her to bring tear gas into the sports festival?! Was that even allowed?!

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1, AND TIMES UP!!! FIRST PLACE IS TEAM MIDORIYA! SECOND PLACE IS TEAM TODOROKI. THIRD PLACE IS TEAM BAKUGO! AND LAST PLACE IS TEAM URARAKA!!!"

"Well, we did it. We once again got first place. One of us better get first in the last round. Though, I'm just in it to show off my babies." Mei said ecstatically.

They sat Izuku on the ground and gave Mei all of her stuff back. Shinso sighed as Todoroki walked up to Izuku.

"Can I speak to you in private?" Todoroki asked.

"Sure." Izuku responded.

Izuku knew this was going to be about his fire side of his quirk and about his dad. What else could it be about? Izuku loved to help others out, and he wanted to fix whatever was wrong with the dual-haired kid in his class.

"You made me break a promise-"

"Look, if this is about your fire, then sorry. Is the reason you don't use it because of your father? Because if it is then you need to realize that it's your power to use and whether he has fire as a quirk or not doesn't affect you. Boys your quirk and you're just making yourself a liability by not using it. There will come a time where your fire will be needed in the field and not using it might just result in the death of a civilian or worse. Granted, it's up to you, but I think you need to realize that you're causing more harm than good by not using your quirk to its fullest." Izuku sighed.

"I won't use my father's power." Todoroki snapped.

"Suit yourself. Are we done here? I need to go get lunch." Izuku pushed off the wall and headed towards to food area.

After lunch, everyone met up to find out what the last round was. Turns out it's a 1v1 battle. They were paired up.

Iida vs Mei
Kaminari vs Uraraka
Todoroki vs Aoyama
Bakugo vs Yaoyorozu (momo)
Tokoyomi vs Shoda
Ojiro vs Mina
Shinso vs Sero

(I had to actually think in order to have the outcomes of the battles work right. I bet a few of you can guess why I have it set up the way it is. Yes, bakugo will have to fight Shinso theoretically if he wants to fight Midoriya. But, hey. I hate Bakugo so I'm going to have fun with that.)

"Are you ready for your first patrol?" Gentle asked the young girl who was clothed in her red outfit. Her hair was pulled into a braid and rested on her side. She had a red hoodie, red Steampunk goggles, red shoes, and red jogging pants. She also had a staff like Verdes but was still learning how to use it. She wore red gloves and a red mask. She basically looked like a red version of Verde. It was adorable.

"Yes, Mr. Gentle. I want to fight bad guys and save the day like big brother Zuzu does!" Eri beamed.

"Well then, its time to world met Rojo." Gentle smiled.
