Team Verde Emerges?

I'm sick again, so sorry if it took a little longer for this chapter to come out. Sorry if song doesn't fit chapter completely, but It does fit some of the characters in this chapter (Characters I didn't even think of adding because I didn't know of them, but then Season 4 changed my mind.). I don't know if Izuku's apartment bedroom actually has a window, but let's just say it does for the sake of my writing.(and sanity when writing). Also, if I don't update within two weeks, I blame the coronavirus. It's ruining everything.

Nezu sighed as he finished watching the camera feed from the hidden security system of the USJ from the attack two days ago. He was drawn to the parts of the feed that featured Midoriya, and couldn't help but draw similarities to the ever-elusive Verde. It was actually quite calming to know he had Verde under his watchful eye. And the fact he was quirkiness would actually work in both of their favors. As soon as Nezu found out about Verde, he was intrigued. Not that many people can escape Eraserhead, nonetheless multiple times. The fact a fifteen-year-old quirkless boy could do so was intriguing. Midoriya was unlikely to get caught since no one suspected a quirkless teen yet. And if he did get caught, he couldn't be charged with much. At most, he'd get community service. Even then, with such large public approval, they'd have to let him go completely. Then there was the talk of his analysis notebooks. Despite some of the teachers' best efforts to keep him from finding out, he managed to overhear talk of them between Present Mic and All Might. He also took note of his quick thinking when he watched his trial in the heroes vs villains battles All Might made the students do.

Midoriya was an interesting student indeed. Nezu was going to enjoy watching the chaos unfold. Especially when Eraserhead realizes Verde has been right under his nose the entire time. Quite clever of the boy to continually antagonize his homeroom teacher every other night. Then again, perhaps it was a little suicidal of him as well. He did, after all, try to attend his school while being a vigilante. Did he seriously think he could hide his nightly affairs from Nezu? The smartest person on Earth? No one can outsmart Nezu. The fact Midoriya was able to last more than one day without him finding out he was Verde did intrigue though. Nezu really wanted to see Midoriya's notebooks sometime soon. Perhaps he could figure out why the boy became Verde if he got the chance to chat with him.

~~~~With Izuku and Shinso at the beach~~~~
Shinso ducked under Izuku's punch and tried to kick out at his legs to knock him down. Izuku predicted he would do that so he moved to the side and swiped at the leg that wasn't trying to kick him, knocking Shinso off his feet and onto the sandy surface below them.
Izuku stood over the exhausted Shinso with a smile, "You're getting better overall, but you need to get better at hiding your way of fighting. This is the fifth time you tried to knock me down after dodging a punch. You're too predictable. Change your style up a bit. Also, don't be afraid to get dirty when fighting. I know it goes against dojo policy, but when it comes to villains, the fight won't be all fair and square. If tossing sand or dirt in someone's eyes is what it takes, then so be it. With your quirk, maybe you should try getting on your opponent's nerves? You know, get under their skin. People tend to make mistakes when their judgment is clouded by emotions. Anyway, let's move on to chain whip practice. Maybe once you get into the heroics class we can convince Aizawa sensei to teach you how to use a capture weapon seeing you like long-distance weapons so much."
Shinso pushed himself up into a sitting position and replied, "I'd love to learn how to use a capture scarf! Eraserhead's weapon is so cool!"
Izuku laughed as he pulled Shinso to his feet. Shinso would probably become the next Eraserhead after he graduates. In all honesty, the fact he was training his favorite hero's future sidekick or co-worker was thrilling. Eraserhead would lose his shit if he ever found out.
"I bet it's a pain to learn how to use it." Izuku mused.
"All the more reason to ask him to teach me how to use it." Shinso remarked.
Izuku went to his bag to grab the staff he used and the chain whips shinso used. He then walked back to Shinso to give him his weapon. "Let's see if you can actually beat me this time." Izuku smirked as he twirled the staff.
"Oh, you're on!" Shinso replied as he tightened his grip on the handles of the long-chain whips he had.
Izuku ran forward as he swung his staff down, only for one of Shinso's whips to wrap around it. Shinso yanked, causing Izuku to stumble forward before he yanked hard on his staff to make Shinso's weapon let go. Shinso almost lost one of his whips, but managed to keep his grip on it in the end. He then aimed for Izuku's legs as he feinted an aim for Izuku's arm with his other whip. Izuku tried to block the feint only to choke on his breath moments later when his legs where pulled out from beneath him.
"Nice feint." Izuku wheezed as he accepted fate and became one with the ground.
"Thanks, someone once told me to be unpredictable." Shinso smiled.
"Gee, I wonder who gave you such wonderful advice." Izuku sassed.
Shinso just grinned victoriously as he tried to get Izuku to get up. He failed miserably. Izuku was like a pile of bricks.
"C'mon, Izuku! Get up! I know you're still healing from the attack, but I also know Recovery Girl healed you enough to where a simple fall shouldn't hurt you! So stop being lazy and get your ass up!" Shinso griped.
"Sorry about that by the way. I didn't mean to scare you the other day like that." Izuku sighed sadly as he sat up.
"Just don't go getting yourself killed and I'll be fine." Shinso huffed.
"No promises." Izuku replied.
"Izuku, I swear-" Shinso groaned.
"Okay, okay! I get it." Izuku laughed. "We should go get some lunch, it's almost 1 already!"
Izuku's phone started to ring, and he picked it up.
"Hello? Oh hey, mom! No, I'll be fine by myself tonight. You can go see those movies. You guys need a girls' night out anyways. I'm serious. I can take care of myself. love you, bye."
Izuku laughed as he and Shinso packed up to leave towards the cafe, "Guess I'm home alone tonight."
~~~~~With Aizawa~~~~~

Aizawa was sipping on a coffee at the cafe, wondering if he could get away with patrolling tonight. He'd have to avoid Recovery Girl's wrath as well as convince Present Mic that if he went with him, he'd be fine. Speaking of the blond man, he and Joke were sitting across from him discussing recent events on the news. Aizawa was still covered in bandages, much to his displeasure. Yamada and Joke decided to make it their goal to watch over him since he was still healing. Honestly, he didn't think he needed baby sitters, but whatever. He was going to go out looking for Verde tonight, and no one could stop him. Just because he was injured, doesn't mean he had to stop hunting down that child vigilante.

"Shouta, no. I can see what you're thinking. No patrolling tonight." Yamada spoke up.

"Hizashi, how about you go with me? I need to get that kid off the streets before he gets himself killed!" Aizawa responded.

"Aww, Dadzawa cares about the little vigilante." Joke cooed.

"Joke, now's not the time." Aizawa growled.

"Sorry, sorry. You just seem to care about him so much that it's charming. I bet you'd adopt him if you could." Joke sighed.

"I mean, you're not wrong. He probably would adopt his problem child." Yamada agreed.

"I'm not adopting anyone. I'm going to capture that brat and make sure he stays out of trouble." Aizawa huffed.

"I'm not sure he agrees with that sentiment. Verde might just retaliate if he knew you wanted to permanently stop his heroic actions. He seems like the kind of kid who lives to help others. It's not going to be easy to stop him without upsetting him. You might just push him too far." Joke reasoned.

"The police have been thinking about reforming him at UA." Aizawa responded.

"And how do we know he isn't already at UA?" Yamada questioned.

"We don't. We're hoping we can catch him before he does some stupid. He'd make a great hero if he'd just take the correct and legal approach." Aizawa stated as he took another sip of coffee.

'You're not going to like what you find.' Joke thought before saying "Well, good luck capturing the cutie pie. Tell him I said hi when you find him."

"Why would I do that? I'm trying to catch him, not be gossip buddies." Aizawa retorted.

Joke sipped on her coffee as she glanced away innocently. "Oh, no reason really. Just, you know, he did save me and I just wanted him to know I was grateful for that and all."

"Ugh, fine. But I am patrolling- you don't get a say in this Hizashi, and I will catch that brat." Aizawa stated firmly.

Yamada groaned in resignment before saying, "Okay... but if things get too rough, we turn back to the agency. Okay?"

"As long as we don't get hurt, I'm not stopping." Aizawa huffed.

'Good luck green-bean, you've got a Dadzawa coming after you.' Joke mused to herself.

~~~~Place unknown~~~~
"Ugh. This Verde character has stolen all the attention on Youtube lately! It's not fair, Gentle! You should be the one everyone is fixated on! Not that hero wannabe!" a short woman pouted as she stared at the video that was of Verde escaping Endeavor.
"Now, La Brava, we can't just dismiss the teenage Vigilante like that. For all we know, he could be fighting for similar interests. Then again, he could be something to fight against. We should look into this Verde and see what he is really about." Gentle assured as he picked up his cup of tea.
"But still. No one is even talking about the robbery you made against the flea market in Musutafu. How is anyone going to know that they don't even donate any of the charity money to the homeless like they say they do if no one will pay attention to our videos?" La Brava whined.
Gentle sighed as he moved over to close the laptop and knelt down in front of La Brava. "La Brava, we can't expect everything to always go our way. You know that."
"I know... I just want to help you achieve your goals!" she smiled through tears.
 "I know, I know. Hey, I have an idea. Perhaps we should pay this Verde a visit? Think you could hunt him down?" Gentle questioned.
"Me? Hunt down the elusive Verde? Anything for you, Gentle." La Brava grinned as she opened the laptop and started to do her stuff. "I'll figure out everything you need to know in no time!"
"I know you will, La Brava. Perhaps meeting up with Verde is what we need." Gentle considered. "Should we wait for him in his home till he returns from his vigilante patrol? Or should we spring a trap to talk to him? How do we approach him to talk to him?"
"Why not both, Gentle? Springing a trap in his home would be the most unexpected after all." La Brava replied as she was going through the past week of security feeds of the area Verde is spotted in. "He sure seems to stay in a specific area though. Hey, he seems to be heading from Musutafu though. Perhaps he lives there? Let me check the security cameras from that area for this week."
Gentle replied, "not very wise to walk in front of cameras when you don't want to get caught."
"Yes, but he seems to avoid most cameras in Musutafu... wait, I found something. There's a teenage boy in a jacket and sweats leaving an apartment building. It's really grainy and almost impossible to see. But I think it's Verde. Very clever of him to wear clothing most people own. Just a minute... and hah! If I pause at this frame and zoom in while enhancing it extremely, you can see his bo-staff barely sticking out the hoodie. Wait, are those goggles poking out his pocket? Yep, definitely found him. Should I'd something about the feeds involving him before the police find them or..?"
"Alter any that lead back to where he lives. Just make sure it's not noticeable you messed with them. We need to get ready to pay him a visit. You got an apartment number?" Gentle grinned.
La Brava clicked away at her laptop, responding "yeah, I do. In this part of the feed from a few months ago, you can see him leaving this apartment. Let me just check the registry for residence and... BINGO! A woman named Inko Midoriya and her son Izuku Midoriya live in that apartment. Let's check his public records... he's fifteen and- he's a student at UA?! What's a UA student doing being a vigilante? Wonder what his quirk is- QUIRKLESS?! A quirkless kid got into UA? Damn, this kid is impressive."
"Perhaps it is his quirklessness that led him into the life of Vigilantism? Motive aside, how do we make sure his mother isn't home when we get there? Assuming, of course, she has no idea of his nightly activities." Gentle wondered.
"She seems to be home most of the time, while her husband works abroad. Based upon what I can find in her phone records, she and a friend are going to see a few movies, keeping her out of the apartment from around 9pm to 4am. Gentle, we might actually be able to do this tonight." La Brava stated excitedly.
"Good. Do we know when this Izuku Midoriya usually returns from patrols?" Gentle inquired.
"Well, the feed from the past few weeks shows him coming back right before 12. So perhaps we should arrive around 10:45? That way we can set up the trap and be ready! We might need to avoid security cameras though. At least his neighbors all have night shifts and won't be in the way." La Brava informed him.
"I'm sure you can somehow make the security cameras near the apartment have a short fuse without raising any suspicion. I'll go get two bolas we can use to ensnare him." Gentle sighed.
~~~~~Time skip~~~~~

 Izuku had arrived back to the apartment from the Dojo around 9. He quickly heated up leftovers to eat before he slipped on his gear. Seeing his mom wasn't home, he just left out the front door this time. He knew it wasn't wise to be patrolling when he was still healing, but he just had to patrol! It was some addiction to him at this point. Besides, Eraserhead would surely be too busy healing to go after him tonight, right? (wrong!) Verde was actually hoping to find out any information he could on the League of Villains that attacked his class the other day. Anything to put his mind at ease would help. He didn't like being in the unknown when there was a group of assholes trying to kill one of his teachers and maybe his class!

Eventually, after walking about for an hour, he saw the warehouse where he had previously run into Shinso and Overhaul separately. he frowned as he made out two distinctive figures on the rooftop; Eraserhead and Present Mic. Boy, was he about to chew someone out about taking care of themselves! Verde made his way up to the roof and marched over the two who didn't even seem to notice him; they were too busy arguing it seemed.

"What makes you think we're going to find him if we stay here?" Eraserhead grumbled.

"He patrols the same area every other night. Well, pretty much every night. You are in no health to be running around aimlessly. Especially with the League out there now! He has been spotted near here at least twice, so calm down! Besides, I don't want to be the one to explain to Recovery Girl why you got more injures if you do get hurt!" present Mic argued back.

"You know, you really should be more aware of your surroundings." Verde huffed as he stopped a yard from them.

"VERDE?!" Present Mic screeched.

"Could you be any louder? I don't the entire town heard you. Anyways..." Verde turned slightly to face Eraserhead. "WHAT THE HELL! WHY ARE YOU OUT HERE WHEN YOU'RE INJURED, ERASERHEAD! YOU CAN'T EVEN USE YOUR QUIRK RIGHT NOW WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE AND YOU CAME OUT HERE?!?!??! ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED?! YOU SHOULD RESPECT YOUR HEALTH MORE! I SWEAR IF YOU DIE BECAUSE YOU WERE BEING RECKLESS I WILL BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE AND SEND YOU STRAIGHT TO RECOVERY GIRL AND LET HER KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO YOU!!! DAMN! WHO ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO ANNOY IF YOU HURT YOURSELF MORE THAN YOU ALREADY ARE AND CAN'T PATROL FOR A LONG TIME?! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF DAMMIT!"

Verde was practically fuming at this point. He faced Present Mic once more and pointed a finger at him, almost poking him in the chest. "AND YOU! HOW COULD YOU LET HIM BE OUT HERE?!?!?! HE IS OBVIOUSLY STILL HEALING, YET HERE HE IS!!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU KEEP HIM OFF OF PATROL?! YOU'VE GOT TO STOP HIM FROM GETTING HIMSELF KILLED!!!! IT'S NOT HEALTHY FOR HIM TO BE OUT HERE RIGHT NOW! I DON'T GIVE A SHIT IF HE IS TRYING TO STOP ME FROM HELPING OTHERS! HE NEEDS TO BE RESTING!"

Present Mic just backed away a few paces and nervously replied, "I tried... but you know how he can be."

Verde sighed deeply, before saying," I know how much of a Dadzawa he can be, I really do, but you should have kept pushing. If it meant tying him down to a hospital bed, then so be it. I know my friends would chain me down to a bed if it were me." Verde then shivered as if realizing something, "Wow, they would chain me down if they could. I should probably make sure they never find out about me being Verde."

"Problem Child..." Aizawa hesitated.

"Go home, Eraserhead. Your health isn't alright right now, and I don't want you to get hurt trying to catch me when you should be resting!" Verde reaffirmed.

"Aww, the little green-bean cares about you." Present Mic cooed.

"Do you want me to go back to being a pain in the ass? because I will. Just because I care doesn't mean I won't retaliate against your teasing!" Verde huffed.

"Fine. Take me home Mic... Problem Child's right for once. Maybe I should be resting. And Ms. Joke says hi." Eraserhead gave in.

"For once?" Verde screeched. "Excuse me if I ever care about someone's well being ever again. And tell her I said hi!"

"Goodnight, Problem child." Eraserhead breathed out impatiently.

"Sleep tight, Eraserhead! And get some actual sleep, you workaholic!" Verde cheekily responded before leaving to get off the rooftop.

Once he was on the ground again, he headed off into a different part of the town then he usually takes. He liked to occasionally take different routes to help out other people. This route was a little more peaceful, but it still had crime happening in it every other night. Still, it was nice to breathe in some fresh air without having to fight someone for once. Maybe it was wishful thinking, but he actually wanted a little peace tonight.

About ten minutes into his walk, he heard a noise from the junkyard he was walking by. Normally, he would ignore it. But, seeing how slow the night was, he decided to investigate. Verde entered the junkyard, looking around at the mountains of junk and garbage everywhere. He made a mental note to come back here and see if he could find any potential support gear in the future. There was another noise from a pile in the back. Verde hesitantly made his way over, only to nearly have a heart attack when a pink-haired girl that was covered in grim leaped out of the pile.

"Hi! What brings you here? I'm looking for pieces to build my babies! Say, aren't you Verde?! Do you need support gear?! I build gear all the time! Granted, half of them explode, but I build them! I build more than the rest of my class does combined at UA! No one wants to test out of inventions though... But I build all sorts of stuff! I just finished quirk suppressant cuffs mark 3 yesterday! Oh! And I build a functional hoverboard that flies up to 5 miles high last month! And I built smoke bombs earlier today! Oh, I forgot! I'm Mei Hatsume! The future billionaire owner of Hatsume Corp! I just need to graduate UA and make my name known!"

Verde sweatdropped at her explanation. "Uh... wouldn't you get into trouble for helping me?"

"Nope! You haven't used your quirk yet, right? If you have one at all anyways. So you haven't really broken any laws other than avoiding arrest. So I can't really get into much trouble! Besides, if I have to see one more video of you throwing sand at people, I'm going to cry in shame. You need some smoke bombs and flashbangs. And maybe I could trick up your goggles to have infrared and night vision in them! I can help you! let me be your person behind the computer! I don't really sleep anyways! I can warn you if Endeavor or too many cops are showing up, as well as alert of crime nearby! I can help!" Mei practically begged as she leaned into Verde.

"You're not going to stop till I say yes, are you?" Verde sighed.

"Nope." Mei grinned.

"Fine. You can help." Verde gave in.

"Yeah! Now, just drop off those googles whenever! I'll have them done for you by the time school starts again." Mei explained.

"How do I do that?" Verde questioned.

"Easy, Midori-San. Can I call you that? I'm going to call you that. Well, when you're not on the field that is. Just come by tomorrow morning. I'll be here like I always am when not at school. Also, My quirk Zoom never fails me. I can see you have the exact same physique as Izuku Midoriya of Class 1-A. It's so cool to know that you're a vigilante. And yes I know everyone's physique like that. Don't judge me!" Mei prattled.

Izuku remained silent with shock.

"I mean, if you're worried, I doubt anyone else has picked up on it. After all, who would expect the quirkless kid to be the badass vigilante?" Mei reassured him.

"Thanks. Mei. I'll drop them off tomorrow. And I'd love some smoke bombs and flashbangs. I don't think Eraserhead likes having sand in his eyes. But you think you could find a way to make the flashbangs not too damaging? I don't want to hurt his eyes anymore than they already are." Verde replied.

"Sure! I always love a challenge! I'll make you some Eraserhead specific flashbangs! They will be irritating enough to make him blink, but they will only last for about a second. Is that okay with you?" Mei inquired.

"That's great! See you later." Verde affirmed as he left. Now he needed to finish his patrol then head home where he could relax in safety.

~~~~Time Skip~~~~
Gentle Criminal and La Brava were sitting in the living room of the apartment, awaiting the teenage vigilante. It was around 11:43, and they knew he would be back soon.
"Think he will scream for help, Gentle?" La Brava asked.
"No, he won't. He wouldn't risk it when he's wearing his vigilante gear. Though, he might get feisty." Gentle laughed.
The front door opened, letting in what little light the moon provided. The two villains waited for the teen to close it and walk down the front hall so they could catch him. As soon as Izuku entered the room, Gentle throw the two bolas at him, effectively immobilizing him. One of the bolas wrapped around his ankles, and the other pinned his arms to his sides. La Brava went to turn on the lights while Gentle walked over to the struggling teen to greet him.
"Fuck." Izuku muttered as soon as he realized he was stuck.
"Hello, Verde. Or do you prefer Midoriya? I couldn't help but notice you were taking the internet by storm. Seeing my whole career itself depends on internet fame, I wanted to figure out what exactly your goals are. Are you fighting a just cause, or are you corrupt? Are you trying to prove something, or is it for fun? So many questions, so little answers." Gentle pondered.
"Gentle... Criminal? What do you mean by my goals? How did you find me?" Izuku perplexed.
"Nothing is impossible to find out for La Brava. Now, why are you the vigilante Verde? For fame? To help others? Or to support a goal? Why are you doing this?" Gentle pressed on.
"I honestly just wanted to help after noticing no heroes really helped out around here. Why do you care so much?" Verde asked.
"Because I make it my goal to expose those who are not very gentlemen like to the world and wanted to know if you were a threat to that goal of mine." Gentle replied.
"I don't see how a teenager could be a threat, but whatever. Can you let me go now?" Izuku sighed with agitation.
La Brave moved over to Gentle, saying "I don't know... We still don't know if we should consider you friend or foe."
"Ugh. Aren't you guys like vigilantes who call themselves villains?" Izuku questioned.
"Are you friend or foe." La Brava asked once more.
"Ugh, a friend I guess. You know, if you guys dig up dirt on corrupted companies and spilled it to the media or hacked into TVs to release the info, you'd get a lot more attention. Besides, you have a better chance of not being attacked by heroes that way. Just saying." Izuku suggested.
"He has a point." La Brava said to Gentle.
"Yes, a valid point indeed." Gentle agreed.
"But..." Izuku prodded.
"But, it's not the same." Gentle sighed.
"You can still be dramatic on camera. Bring out the theatrics. Annoy the heroes on how they can't stop you from bringing the corrupted companies to justice." Izuku assured.
"Another good point. You're right. Besides, it would be fun to watch the heroes fail at finding me while I'm on every single TV in the area. And it would make getting attention easier." Gentle considered.
"Great, we're all in agreement. Now let me go." Izuku responded with annoyance.
"Okay, okay. Damn, you're so whiny." La Brava teased.
Yeah, another chapter is done.
