Declaration of War? Sure, why not.

Sorry I updated late. I've been busy with some things. Plus a state shut down and two siblings using the computer for school all day makes updating much harder. Song has nothing to do with chapter for once, but I feel it might fit Mei and Shinso a little (or maybe fit Gentle Criminal now that I think about it). Here's the chapter. Sorry if it's way shorter then usual. I'm suffering from writers block :( I have the basic idea of what I want, but no idea of how to go from point A to B. It may also seemed rushed Once again, I'm sorry, but Writer's block is a bitch.

Izuku sighed as he flopped down into his seat, planting his head down onto his desk. The short break they received after the attack was not as relaxing as he thought it would be. Sure, being a vigilante was taxing-he knew that- but he didn't expect the chaos of his new teammates to happen. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't complaining, but he could deal without the added stress. He still couldn't believe he somehow slipped up enough for fucking Gentle Criminal to find him. Then there was freaking Mei Hatsume herself. Having her interested in you was a major crisis. Anyone who has heard of her at UA knows you should stay as far away as possible from her. She has a reputation to be rather crazy in the lab. Even Pro heroes fear her. At least he got some updated gear.

It was the morning after he ran into Mei and the two "villains" (read Vigilantes). He had met up with Mei to give her his goggles. She had been rummaging through a pile of junk, looking for a car engine for her prototype AI.

"Hey, Mei." he sighed as he stopped a foot away from her.

"Oh hey, Midori-san." Mei grinned as she stood up from her position in the pile and dusted herself off.

"Here's my goggles." Izuku said as he tossed them to her.

"Oh great! I'm going to make them so amazing that Einstein himself will roll in his grave!" Mei cheered."I'll get them to you before school starts!"

Something blew up in a nearby junk pile. "Oh, no! My babies malfunctioned again!!!"

Yeah, Mei sure is something. He just dreaded the moment La Brava and Mei met. It was going to happen at one point, and he knew it would be hell if they became friends. In fact, they were all supposed to meet after school today in the junkyard. Apparently their first "official" team meeting or something. Izuku was just thrilled to go to it. It's not like he planned on being solo for life or anything. Nope. Not at all. At least he got to school early enough to get a quick nap in- his phone vibrated, much to his irritation.

With a sigh, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to see who exactly he would be killing for preventing his nap. The culprit was Iida. Dammit, Iida! A few days after the USJ attack, Ojiro and Iida decided to make a group chat. Because isn't that just a great idea?

Iida: make sure you're in time today so whoever is subbing for us for homeroom has it easier.

'Doesn't he realize Aizawa-Sensei will probably still show up?' Izuku mused.

Midoriya: Can I leave this group chat? I don't do people.

Bakugo: Shut it, Glasses! And take me out of this stupid group as well.

Ojiro: Who said Sensei won't show?

'Thank god, at least someone else understands that Sensei doesn't let injures stop him. If patrolling didn't stop him, why the hell would teaching stop him?'

Iida: He's still healing, so of course he won't show.

Izuku rolled his eyes as he pocketed his phone. Iida was so nieve at times it was annoying. Izuku tried to go to sleep once more, but then Kaminari and Ashido entered the classroom. They were discussing the topic of vigilantes as they always were when they entered the classroom.

"Come on! He's obviously a vigilante! I mean, he targets corrupted organizations." Kaminari argued.

"Yeah, but he has the word Criminal in his name!" Ashido countered.

"Yeah, but its Gentle Criminal. Which, if you think about it, Vigilantes are just gentle and kind criminals." Kaminari pointed out.

"Who you guys talking about?" Kirishima asked as he walked in.

"Gentle Criminal. Is he a villain or vigilante." Ashido responded as she plopped down onto Kaminari's desk.

"Get off my desk." Kaminari whined.

"Isn't he that youtube who targets corrupted companies?" Kirishima asked.

"YES!" Kaminari nodded enthusiastically.

Izuku chose to zone out and think about other things. Like how he couldn't wait to use his new goggles on his next patrol. Or how for some reason Iida wasn't here before the noisy trio got here. What were they going to learn today? Was there going to be group projects? He hoped not. Would Bakugo be an Ass today? Probably. Should he be worried about anyone suspecting him of being Verde? Wait, that's actually a good concern. He did sort of let his Verde side show a little at the USJ. Sure, Eraserhead seemed none the wiser, but what about others? Where there cameras at the USJ? Of course, there were- this is Nezu's school for fuck's sake. But were they still working, and if so, did Nezu see how he was acting? Did he have to worry about the Principal being in his case? That would be really bad if it were the case. Nezu was a wild card and Izuku wanted nothing to do with him. Granted, it would be cool to debate quirks with him. Nonetheless, he was the one person who posed the biggest threat to Verde's safety. Then again, maybe Nezu would take his side. The guy was unpredictable. He didn't let laws stop him. Really, he had no idea how Nezu would respond to him being Verde. Nezu seemed like the kind of guy to hate inequality stuff and loved loopholes. So perhaps a quirkiness vigilante would interest him?

"I wonder who will be our homeroom teacher today?" Someone asked, snapping Izuku from his thoughts. That person was Uraraka.

"Ha, you think injuries would stop Sensei from showing up?" Izuku laughed.

"He was hurt pretty bad." Iida argued.

"This is Eraserhead we're talking about. The same guy who fell off a two-story roof and tried to brush it off as nothing. The guy who reaks of death himself. I doubt he stayed in bed to rest. Rest is for the weak after all." Ojiro mused.

"Ha, I remember that! It was the abandoned apartment building near the cafe, right?" Izuku chuckled.

"Yeah, that's the one. So glad we were up late that night." Ojiro sighed.

The classroom door opened to mummy Aizawa.

"See? Told you injuries wouldn't stop him from showing up." Izuku grinned.

"Sensei! Is it really okay for you to be here today?" Iida asked.

"Yeah, you look really bad right now." Kaminari agreed.

"Recovery Girl healed me enough. Now, you need to know that the fights not over."

"MORE VILLAINS?!" the majority of the class yelled.

"Is this about the sports festival?" Ojiro asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The sports festival is indeed coming up. In just two weeks, it will be upon us."

The whole class calmed down but were still upset at Aizawa for his wording.

"Is it really a good idea to have it after the attack?" Someone asked.

"This is UA. We won't let a villain attack out us down so easily. We've decided to show how strong we are by continuing the Sports Festival. Besides, the Sports Festival is one of the most-watched events there is. That being said, you will be training to get ready for it. Do not slack off." Aizawa informed them before getting into his sleeping bag.

Izuku pulled out his notebook to take more notes on his classmates. He had a little bit of time before English started, so he'd be okay. Besides, if Shinso accidentally saw the notebook, then maybe he'd get an edge in the sports festival. Yep. Izuku would do anything for his friend if it meant getting him into the class. After all, they can't start an agency together if Shinso doesn't get into the heroics department.

~~~~Lunch time~~~~
Izuku, Shinso, and Ojiro had just gotten situated at their lunch table when a girl with pink dreadlocks slammed her tray next to Izuku's and sat down before saying, "Hey, Midori-San."
Shinso and Ojiro side-eyed each other at the nickname.
"Mei." Izuku greeted with no emotion.
"Who is this?" Ojiro asked.
"Mei Hatsume from Support! Nice to meet ya!" Mei grinned.
"She's the support student everyone fears apparently." Izuku shrugged.
"Hey, if they can't handle ingenuity, then that's their problem." Mei pouted.
"She's actually really good at inventing... she just goes a little overboard and has no understanding of personal space. I met her a few days ago." Izuku explained.
"How did you meet her exactly?" Shinso asked.
"In a junkyard." Mei responded.
"Do I even need to know why you were in a junkyard, Izuku?" Shinso sighed.
"Anyways, we're acquaintances now." Izuku finished.
"I will earn your friendship Midori!" Mei fumed.
"I guess." Izuku responded.
"Well, I'm Ojiro and this is Shinso." Ojiro said.
"Nice to meet you. Can I call you Ninja and Zombie- I'll call you Ninja and Zombie."Mei smiled.
"She won't give up on the nicknames. Just give in." Izuku exasperated. "Also, Mashi, I'm thinking of dropping my classes at the dojo now that I'm proficient enough."
"You'll have to talk with my mother directly about that this weekend then." Ojiro informed.
~~~~with Shouto Todoroki~~~~

Todoroki watched Izuku from afar in the cafeteria. He just knew there was something up with him. The way he acted at USJ reminded him off a certain Vigilante. Izuku was acting a lot like Verde that day. Now, don't go accusing Todoroki of being a conspiracy nut! He knows what he saw and heard. Izuku Midoriya and Verde have a lot in common. They're both short, cheeky as fuck when fighting, use a bo-staff, and they both wear green. It made so much sense! Izuku always seemed to find either amusement or annoyance towards the topic of Verde. Anyone would react that way to a conversation about themselves. Yes, Izuku Midoriya was Verde! Granted, no one would believe it for a moment that the shy quirkiness kid was the cheeky vigilante. Nope. Todoroki was the only one who wasn't blinded by the hypocrisy apparently. But that didn't matter. He was more interested in why Verde was a vigilante in the first place. There had to be a reason. Was it because he was quirkiness? Or perhaps something more climatic, like a life-changing event that happened? Was it for shit and giggles? Todoroki just needed to know.

~~~~Back to Izuku~~~~
Shinso and Mei were bonding over not being Hero students. Ojiro was listening to their conversation while adding his opinion every once in a while. Izuku was finishing his food so he could get back to his notes. But something was off. He felt as if someone was trying to stare into the very depths of his soul. It was rather unnerving and uncomfortable. Izuku glanced behind him and noticed Todoroki just staring in his direction. Creepy. 'Why is he staring? Did I do something to upset him? It feels as if I'm under a microscope. I hope he doesn't suspect anything weird of me'
Todoroki looked away when he realized he has been found out. 'Seriously, what's his issue? I hope he snaps out of it soon though.'
Izuku sighed as he returned his attention to his food. He could deal with Todoroki later. Right now he needed to eat.
~~~~Nezu's office~~~~

Aizawa begrudgingly walked in. "Hello, Principal Nezu."

"Ah, Aizawa. I need to talk to you about Midoriya." Nezu smiled.

"Midoriya?" Aizawa questioned while hoping it didn't have to do with the kid's notebooks.

"Why yes. I overheard talk of his analytical skills and would love to look over them with him. Send him over after lunch end." Nezu explained.

"Sure thing." Aizawa sighed.  He was not happy about the two meeting at all.

~~~~After lunch~~~~
Izuku made his way to Principal Nezu's office, clutching his notebooks to his chest, He didn't know why he was needed. He just was. Aizawa-Sensei said something about bringing his notebooks with him, so maybe Nezu was interested in his analysis? Hopefully, it was just the notebooks. Having Nezu interested in his hobbies would not be good.
Izuku took a deep breath and opened the door to the Principal's office.
"Ah, hello Midoriya. Come and sit." Nezu beamed from his spot on a couch.
Izuku reluctantly closed the door and sat on the couch that was across from the one Nezu sat on.
"Tea?" Nezu offered.
"No thanks." Izuku responded.
Nezu took a sip of tea, then said"I've heard that you're good at analysis. May I see your notebooks?"
"Sure." Izuku handed over his Quirk analysis for future heroics notebook and class 1-A analysis notebook.
Nezu flipped through them with a calculated gaze. After a few minutes, he handed them back.
"Well, you sure do have a rather advance skill of analysis." Nezu noted.
"Thank you, Sir." Izuku hesitantly responded.
"Now, what's you're take on this?" Nezu asked as he pulled out an old cold case file.
Izuku flipped through it and said, "Well, it has to be the second wife. It seems like the son is to blame due to the evidence pointing towards a heat quirk, but the second wife has a light controlling quirk. Light can cause heat damage as well after all. She had the most to lose it seemed from the business decision. Even if the son would earn money from his dad's death, the second wife would stop her husband from costing their company fortunes. Let's not forget she seems to have a degree in acting. Also, she has no alibi while the son has a questionable alibi. So, it has to be her most likely."
"Interesting take on the issue." Nezu mused. "You're the second person to notice how her quirk could have caused the evidence. Well, thanks for your input. You can go back to class now."
~~~~End of school~~~~

"Finally, school is over." Kaminari sighed.

"See you tomorrow, Mashi." Izuku smiled.

"You too, Zuku." Ojiro replied.

Uraraka goes to open the door, only to find the hallway crowned.

"Why is there a crowd?!" Iida questioned.

"Considering we were attacked and gain a lot of media attention, I'd say they're here to investigate." Izuku said.

"They're here to scope out the competition!" Bakugo laughed.

"Yeah, cause everything revolves around you Bakugo." Izuku scoffed.

A blond steps up and says "You must think you're so cool getting to fight villains-"

"Okay, I'm going to cut you off there and point out that some of us could have died. We didn't ask to be attacked. So stop getting your panties in a knot over being lucky enough to not have to face a bunch of murders and grow up. We're here to learn, not compete over who almost dies the most." Izuku seethed.

"Someone didn't sleep well last night." Shinso mused as he made his way to the front of the crowd.

"Toshi, you know how I feel about whiny egotistic brats." Izuku whined.

"Hmm, well no one likes them really. That's why we're all cursed to have them in our life. Cause life hates us." Shinso mused.

"You here to declare war on my class, Toshi? Because I don't see any other reason for you to show up with a crowd." Izuku said.

"Yeah, you guys do realize people can move up into the heroics class if they do well enough in the sports festival. The same can be said for you guys. If you don't do good enough, you can be moved out of the course! This is a declaration of war." Shinso deadpanned.

"Good thing there's already an open spot in our class then." Izuku smiled.

"IZUKU! STOP RUINING MY DECLARATION OF WAR!" Shinso fumed.

"Sorry, Toshi." Izuku apologized.

"Are you?" Shinso asked.

"Not really. You'll probably win at least 3rd place anyways." Izuku shrugged.

"Seriously? No extra is going to win 3rd-"Bakugo laughed.

"Bakugo, half of the people here will probably beat you, so drop the ego." Izuku cut him off.

"DEKU-"

"It's pronounced Izuku, and that's Midoriya to you." Izuku once again cut him off. "Anyways, I've got somewhere to be, so see you guys tomorrow."

~~~~At the junk yard~~~~
"So, heard your class got ambushed by the other classes." Mei mused.
"Eh, they were all complaining about how unfair it was that we got to almost die and how we were acting like egotistic people for surviving. Which pissed me off, because we could have died!" Izuku scoffed. "What do we even talk about anyways?"
"Team rules? I don't know?" LA Brava responded.
"Okay? Uh... we'll need to stay in contact if we're a team. And a team name? Mei could probably make communicators. We might need a base at one point. And basic rules could be like, no harming heroes or innocent people? But that's a given." Izuku brainstormed.
"Team Verde will be the name since we're only a team because of you. Communicators will be done by tomorrow." Mei stated.
"Sounds good." La Brava said.
"Better you're name than mine when the public hears the name. The police seem to like you more." Gentle laughed.
"Okay... so Team Verde it is." Izuku smiled.
Like I said a short chapter. Sorry. If you have any ideas, like conflicts between characters or funny things that might happen between now and the sports festival than please comment.
