TAEHYUNG
"Hey, Coffee Shop Boy."
I look up from the book in my lap to see Jungkook smiling as he made his way towards me. I look down, feeling embarrassed as I think about the way I behaved when I last talked to him.
"It's a nice day, isn't it?" He asks, putting his backpack on the ground before sitting down next to me.
"It is," I say looking up at him. "How's your day coming?"
"It would be better if I'd seen you before now." He smiles. "But I guess it's been alright. You?"
"It's been alright." I nod before looking back down at my book. I want to say something but I don't know what to say.
"Are you mad at me?" Jungkook asks after a long silence.
"No," I say, looking at him. I sigh as I close the book in my hands, shifting towards him on the bench. "I'm sorry I freaked out on you yesterday. I wasn't upset at you, I was just upset that Iseul was bothering me."
"It's okay," Jungkook says. "I understand why ignoring him would've been best and I'm sorry I didn't listen to you when you said that it was fine."
"Don't apologize," I say. "I was just worried because..."
"What?" Jungkook asks after I trail off.
Of course I couldn't tell him the real reason I was worried. "Uhm...well I dealt with bullies at my old school and my mom made me transfer. I didn't want that to happen again, so I was trying to ignore Iseul until he got bored with me." It wasn't a lie, it just wasn't the whole truth.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that, Tae," Jungkook says with a sympathetic smile. "And I'm sorry Iseul's giving you a hard time."
"It's fine, it's not your fault," I shrug dismissively. "It is what it is, honestly. I can't do anything about it so there's no reason to dwell on it."
Jungkook nods but I can still tell he's thinking about something, or maybe he's just feeling sorry for me and doesn't know what to say.
"But we're good," I say. "Right?"
"Yeah, of course," He says, moving closer to me and taking my hand. "I'm glad we're good, I thought I'd ruined things."
"No," I laugh. "It's gonna take a lot more to get rid of me."
"Promise?" He asks, making me laugh softly. "What? I'm serious, promise you'll stick around."
"I promise, okay?" I say tilting my head.
"Good," He says. "Now kiss me."
"Oh my god, Jungkook." I say looking up in embarrassment. "How are you so shameless?"
"No one's ever gotten what they wanted by staying quiet." He smiles. "Plus I haven't seen you all day and we didn't hang out yesterday so we have to make up for lost time."
"Fine," I say. "But I'm not going to keep giving away free kisses every time you ask."
"Fine," He says rolling his eyes a little before leaning forward.
I close my eyes and try not to smile into the kiss, but it's hard when I can feel the smile on Jungkook's face. I pull away first, laughing shortly as that anxious feeling bubbles in my chest.
The buzzer sounds a few seconds later, making Jungkook groan as he pulls away as well.
"There's not enough time in an hour," He says, grabbing his backpack.
"I heard some schools only give twenty minutes for lunch," I say putting my book away.
"I bet that sucks." Jungkook laughs, holding his hand out to me as I stand with my backpack.
"What?" I ask looking at his outstretched hand.
"Hold my hand while we walk to class," He says with a pout, as if he didn't feel the need to explain.
"Wouldn't that make people think we're, like, dating or something?" I ask, fidgeting with the strap of my backpack.
"Would that be such a bad thing?" He asks with a smirk.
"Yeah, since we aren't dating," I say. "But if you went ahead and asked me out instead of stealing my kisses and posting up at my mom's coffee shop all the time—then that wouldn't be a problem. Would it?"
"Are you insinuating that you want to be my boyfriend, Kim Taehyung?" He asks, narrowing his eyes.
"I'm not insinuating," I say slapping his hand. "Like you said, no one's ever gotten what they wanted by staying quiet."
Jungkook smiles, releasing a stunned laugh as I walk away from him. "So do you want to be my boyfriend?"
"I can't hear you, I'm trying to get to class," I say, without turning back, biting back the smile on my face as I walk to my last class of the day.

"I don't care what's going on, you check your temperature every hour. You wear the clothes I packed for you~"
"Mom~"
"I'm not finished."
I sigh but I still can't help but smile as my mom lists off of all the rules I have to follow while on the trip with Jungkook and his friends.
She goes on and on about how to dress and when the weather was going to be warm and when it was supposed to be cool. She tells me to take my medication every morning, even if the others are 'round.
"I don't want you taking chances because you're trying to keep a secret," She says sternly. "If something happens, Taehyung, I swear to god this will be the last time you go anywhere without me."
"Nothing's going to happen," I say. "I'm gonna call you every day and every night. And it's only three days, so it'll be good."
Mom sighs, looking over the things she packed in my suitcase to be sure everything's there. "Don't ignore your alarms."
"I won't," I say. "I'm gonna be super careful, mom."
There's a knock on the door and I already know that it's Jungkook.
"That's Jungkook," I say, wanting her to leave my room.
"Alright, alright," She says rolling her eyes before leaving, I follow her to go get the door.
"Hey," I smile as I let Jungkook in.
"Hey," He says back, looking over at my mom and bowing slightly. "How's your day coming, Ms. Kim?"
"Alright," Mom says gathering some papers from the coffee table. "I was just telling Taehyung that all you have to be really careful going on this trip~"
"Mom," I say giving her a look. "I'm sure Jungkook's mom told him all the same things."
"No, yeah, she did," Jungkook chuckles. "She almost was going to make me call her every hour until we got back."
"I just want all you kids to be safe," Mom says. "But I know you all will make the best decisions, yeah?"
"Of course." Jungkook nods with a reassuring smile.
"Come on, Kook," I say before walking to my room. I hurry to close my suitcase so that Jungkook doesn't see my medication bag, pushing it under my bed for the time being.
"I can't believe your mom is actually letting you go," Jungkook says plopping down on my bed. "How'd you do it?"
"I don't know really," I say crawling onto the bed and sitting next to him. "She had a change of heart I guess."
"That's good." He smiles. "I really wanted you to be there."
"Well I will be," I say taking his hand and intertwining our fingers. I frown when I see a bruise forming over his knuckles. "Did you hurt yourself?"
"Hm?" He hums, looking down at his own hand. "Oh, that's nothing. I must've hit my hand on something."
"Are you sure?" I ask looking up at him.
"Yeah," He says. "I'm fine, I promise."
I nod, smiling softly before leaning forward and kissing his cheek. He laughs softly at the gesture, looking down at our hands with a fond look on his face.
