Chapter 27
Ghost POV- "Many children who have left the ruins, will never come back." Toriel says, standing infront of the big purple door at the end of the hall. Toast and I standing behind her. We both cant really believe what Toriel is saying, yet shes saying it right to our face. Some wind had started blowing.
"What are you talking about Toriel?!" I say. Pretty much shouting and trying to be heard over the wind. Toriel then turns to us, with a very dull but fiery look to her eyes.
"You wish to leave? Very well. Then prove to me that you two are strong enough to survive." She says, and fire balls, summon to her side. Toast and I both seemingly flinch as we see the fire hurl towards us. I can. . . . . Feel Casket starting to get twitchy. He wants to fight. I almost fail to contain him but my eye catches glance of Toast. Toast had dodged the first attack of fire from Toriel and was looking at her.
"Ma'am please! We don't want to fight!" He says, trying to plead with her to stop. I look to see Toriels facial expression but then all I see is the dark.
Toast POV- Toriel is attacking us! Why is she doing that?! I glance to sir, seeing that he has pulled out his knife. Jimmy has taken over. Great. I quickly go over to Casket from behind and grab the knife from him. He quickly turns behind himself and looks at me.
"HEY GIVE IT BACK!! OR ILL KILL YOU!" He says. Looking up at me, trying to grab the knife. I scoff.
"What are you going to kill me with? A box?" And with that. I go over to one of the walls and stab Jimmy's knife into the wall as far as I can get it. And i also stabbed the knife in at an awkward angle so it would be harder to pull out. I hear Casket let out some sort of horrified screech like scream, before rushing past me, trying to pull out his knife. I quickly run past him, back to the fight with Toriel. I didnt wanna kill her. I knew there was another way. There just had to be another way. Toriel then stares down at me with her red fiery eyes. It looks like shes. . . . Holding back.
"Toriel! Please! Let us go!" I say to her again, trying to speak with her. But she simply ignores me and attacks with more of her fire balls. I attempt to dodge, but I feel the fire hit me. It did feel like flames, but also like a freaking bowling ball hitting you. I fall backwards wincing when I hit the cold hard cement. I look back up at her.
"T-Toriel! P-Please Listen To Me!" I had to force myself to speak again. She looks at me with, what I could see was pity. She attacked again with her fire balls, but the fire balls only went around me. They went almost nowhere near me. . . . Toriel was acting aloof. With my remaining strength I get myself to stand up. Then, I dont really know why I did this but, I held my arms out, in the way you would get ready to embrace someone in for a hug. I close my eyes tightly, waiting for another fire bowling ball to hit me again. . . . But. . . It never came. I quickly open my eyes to see that the fire was, again, going around me.
"Why? What do you have to prove?!" Toriel says, looking at me. I was slightly shocked.
"Fight Or Run Away!" She says, sounding angry, yet, sad. I felt my heart sink slightly at her tone of desperation. With all my will, I take a few steps forwards, still holding my arms out, as if I were ready to give Toriel a hug. The fire balls that Toriel had tried to attack with didnt even show up. Did sir and I win? Toriel then steps aside from the big door.
"Be good my children. But please do not return here again." Toriel says in a saddened tone. I had gotten Caskets knife and was holding onto it. He was trying to get it back from me. I ignore him, I start heading to the big purple door. I put Caskets knife into my bag. I look back to Toriel. She looks saddened by Sir and I's departure. Lord I couldn't take it. I then run back to Toriel and give her a hug. I close my eyes tightly.
"Thank you Toriel. For everything you've done for us." I say, forcing myself to hold back tears. I feel Toriel hug me back. We hold the hug, then shr let's go of me and I turn and head out the purple door. Casket still following me, wanting his knife back. But I felt satisfied that I helped save a nice woman like Toriel.
