Chapter I
Pain sometimes can penetrate from the inside and become physical pain. Getting heartbroken for the first time is entirely the most painful experience ever. Actually getting heartbroken whether its the first or the hundredth time is equally as painful I would guess.
"Hey!" Michelle flashes a wide smile at me as she walks to my table. Pulling me out of my thoughts all of a sudden.
"Hey Chelle," I return a smile getting up and pulling her into bone-crushing hug. I see her boss glaring at me but what do I care?
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you. I didn't have to drag you out," she chirps clapping her hands slightly. I'm used to the dramatic best friend I earned myself ever since I started college. I'm already learning some of the dramatic expressions myself. It gets interesting and addictive.
"Had to get myself out you know," I sit down looking at her bright expression.
"I'll get your usual okay?" she leaves even before I could answer. She then brings too coffees with her.
"Won't you get into trouble for this?" I refer to her sitting and having coffee with me.
"Who gives a damn? I'm tired." she rolls her eyes and slouches on her seat carelessly. I laugh at that.
"I have 634 assignments to hand in next week," She frowns and I laugh harder at her art of exaggeration. Of course she can't have 634 assignments.
"Is there anything you never exaggerate? " I giggle.
"If I don't exaggerate I'll die," she laughs too. "But on the real, how are you? "
"I'm hanging in here I guess, I can't hide indoors forever, so..here I am," I let out a huge sigh that sounds more of tired than relieved. She holds my hand pouring her sympathetic brown eyes into mine.
"Do you wanna do something after my shift is over?" She asks softly while rubbing the back of my hand.
"No I think I'll just stay in for the evening." I reply.
"Then just come sleepover at my house. It's been forever!" she tries to sound sad. Pouting even. "Gramms will make that chicken that you like.. Please..?"
Taking a moment as if I'm thinking I reply," okay then, "
She squeals tapping her feet on the floor. Her celebration is short lived though.
"Michelle!" an angry voice booms.
"Shit," she curses under her breath getting up. Her angry boss stands there, hands on his waist.
It's funny how she drags her feet back to her station. I remember what she always says, Fuck being a barista.
