Chapter 2
ZACHARY MILLER
I hung out with her for about a week or two and then I got a peek of her extra baggage. I broke up with her on the seventh day.
Almost every girl I know is either my ex or my girlfriend. As busy as I was making everyone happy, I also made sure to write down my experiences with every girl. Not all of them were great, but I still wrote them down. Each entry was incredibly detailed. I don't mean to brag but, I was really good at writing.
Under the name of every girl were the dates of when I first decided that I would date them, when I started flirting with them, when I took them out on the first date and at the end of the entry would be when I planned to make them my ex and when I managed to bury them. As a professional, all this would take about 2 weeks.
I went on the first date with Stella on 29th May and I broke up with her on June 12th, 2021. I left her a text message that morning telling her that I loved another girl, and I didn't feel like our relationship was going anywhere anyway.
Now, let me explain myself here. I usually don't break up by text. I never do, but I couldn't break up with her in person. So, yes, I chickened out of it. Lucas and Mark—my friends—laughed at me when they heard that I couldn't break up with her.
Other than that, I was perfectly fine with breaking up with her. Other than the fact that I couldn't stop thinking about her. She didn't reply even though she saw the message. That angered me so much I almost punched a hole through my wall.
I waited for Monday so that I could finally see Stella and see what had happened. I expected to see an absolute wreck. I prepared myself to see her in the worst possible condition. I imagined her walking towards the entrance of the school with puffy eyes from crying all weekend and a dirty dress because she hadn't bothered to dress up. When she reached where I was standing, she would send me death glares but then her eyes would tear up and shed run away crying. Well, at least this was what happened with Rachel and most of the girls that I had dated.
After a few minutes, I saw Stella coming with Amy and Cassie. I watched her carefully. I was wrong. She wore her favorite white floral dress; her hair tied up in a ponytail and she was laughing along with her friends as she walked by completely ignoring me.
Well, I guess the breakup didn't bother her. I guess it was better than throwing eggs at my house. Yes, Rachel did that too. The girl had problems that I did not want to be a victim of.
It still angered me that Stella had absolutely no problem with losing me. All the late-night messages, dates, meeting her parents, movie night with her parents meant nothing? How could she just move on?
I was annoyed, but I'm not one for revenge. I decided to be the bigger person and acted like she was just another girl in school.
Although Stella was adamant on ignoring me and I was continuously trying to get her attention, her friends were also giving me death glares every chance they got. I would try to get close to Stella when she was alone, and her friends would just pop out of nowhere and lead Stella away from me before she even noticed me. I tried to text Stella, but she blocked my number and my Instagram account. I guess the breakup did bother her.
I had had enough of her ignorance when I decided to go to her house to talk to her. I wore the black hoodie that she liked with blue jeans. I walked to her house and planned on what I was going to say to her. I rang the bell and Nellie opened the door. She invited me in with a smile. She didn't know about the breakup.
Nellie looked young for her age. Stella had her green eyes, but Nellie's hair was darker than Stella's. She wore a blue floral dress with a ribbon at the back and her short hair was hanging just above her shoulders.
"Would you like something to drink?" She asked.
"No, thank you. Is Stella here?"
"She's in her room." She replied and I went upstairs to her room. I knocked on the door and she opened it.
"What do you want?" she asked, rolling her eyes. She didn't let me in. She just stood there with the door half closed.
"Just wanted to see how you were doing." I smiled.
"Well, I'm alive. Anything else you want to know, or will you be leaving now?"
"Oh, come on, Stella. I know you're hurting and I'm sorry I did it over text but—"
"But I'm not. I'm perfectly fine but your egoistic ass just cannot accept it right? Well, guess what? I'm fine. I'm doing great. Anything else?"
"If you're doing great then why are you ignoring me?"
"Because I don't have the energy or the need to deal with your stupidity. You're just a baby that can't deal with rejection. Well, not every girl is crazy in love with you and not every girl thinks that you are someone great. The only reason I even started dating you is because I thought I could change you. I failed. You can never change unless you want to. No outwardly force will ever be able to change you unless you want to. So, Zachary Miller, I am completely and absolutely over you."
"Wow. I-I don't know what to say." I didn't. I really didn't.
"That's ok. You can just leave. The door is right there," she stood there and raised her eyebrows waiting for me to leave, but I just stood there shocked at her response. This wasn't her at all. What happened?
"Are you ok?" I asked and moved a step closer to her.
"Yes, but I'll be better if you leave."
"Fine." I growled and stormed off. I ignored her mom in the kitchen and walked straight out of the door. She was fine without me. I knew I would have to get over it. It was unusual. Everything about her was so unusual.
