Jace glared at me, as his mother came closer, to me.

" I'm so sorry, you got dragged into this", Kaitlynn said softly her voice almost breaking from how intense her emotions were making her feel.

" Dad, she's a liability, and you know how we handle liabilities", Jace spoke to his father while still pinning me with his glare. 

His father shook his head. " Artemis has pleaded multiple times, that this girl, means no harm to our well-being, besides the fact, she kicked River's ass".

I felt like smiling but didn't want to push my luck as I still didn't know what this mafia family was fully capable of. 

Jace noticed and shot another one of his infamous death glares in my direction. But this time I ignored it.

Kaitlynn also noticed and smacked the back of Jace's head.

" Be nice!", she scowled at Jace, which caused me to let out a small laugh.

Jace rolled his eyes knowing he could do nothing to me when his parents were around.

" But mom! She's a liability to this mafia! We never leave our witnesses alive! You know this!", Jace continued.

" She's practically harmless Jace", Kaitlynn retorted rolling her eyes.

" I'll decide that", Jace said darkly, giving me one last glare before leaving.
