Chapter 4

We were all sitting around in one of the lounge areas. The lessons were over and Ray and his friends insisted I stayed and hung out. So here we were, laughing and talking, beers in our hands.

"So, what do you think of this place so far?" Tyler asked.

"It's cool, I guess," I replied

He was to say something more when a red haired man walked over.

"Josh!" He exclaimed.

Josh sat down beside him and smiled.

"What'd I miss?" He asked, then noticed me sitting here. "Who's the new guy?"

"This is Gerard," Ray introduced.

I nodded at him and he repeated the action. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Dallon lingering, his eyes transfixed on Brendon. I looked over at the couple, Ryan sitting on Brendon's lap as they cuddled together and talked quietly amongst themselves, sharing occasional small kisses.

"Hey, turn that music down," Someone complained.

I listened to the punk music that was slowly increasing in volume as someone turned it up. The man by the speakers had black hair and was wearing a black t-shirt button up with a red tie and black skinny jeans. He was laughing, looking like he was doing it on purpose just to irritate people.

"That's Billie Joe Armstrong," Ray said when he noticed me looking. "He's a rank one, probably one of the best killers here besides Frank."

"Does he enjoy messing with people?" I asked.

"He loves it," Ray stated. "Not entirely sure why though, we're all pretty sure he's insane."

"Aren't we all?" Tyler asked. "I mean, we work here after all."

I watched as Billie Joe was approached by a man with blond hair. The two talked for a moment before Billie Joe turned off the stereo and followed him out of the room. Some people sighed in relief but I was a little disappointed because I actually like the song that had been playing. Patrick walked over and sat down on the couch beside me.

"You will never believe what happened," he stated, making us all listen up. "I was walking past some of Frank's workers and I overheard something. Apparently they think there's a spy in here that's leaking information. The workers and the rank ones are all going to have to interview people to try and figure out who it is."

Shit, I'm gonna need to worm my way out of this one and look as innocent as possible. I'm not even the one leaking information, I'm just here to take down the whole company. I tried to keep my calm as I sat there.

"I think I should be getting home soon," I said, starting to stand up.

"What's the hurry, are you scared? Are you the one leaking info to people?" Josh teased.

"No, I just think that it's getting late and I need to get home," I stated.

"It's only six," Ray said.

I Set my beer down, fixing my tie.

"I'll see you all tomorrow," I said quickly.

I walked out of one of the lounges, going over to the elevators. I pressed for the first floor and stepped in quickly. It moved up quickly and I stepped out when I heard the gang. There was commotion in the lobby when I got to the top. People with suits were standing and talking. They glanced over at me, looking annoyed.

"Nobody leaves," Billie Joe stated. "Come here, let's have a chat."

He pulled me back into the elevator, much to my disappointment. I shoved my hands into my pockets because they were shaking too much. I bit my lip while he scrutinized me, his fun and playful demeanor from earlier now gone. So, I have to be the unfortunate on to be on the receiving end of his assassin-like skills.

"So, you're new here," Billie Joe stated.

"How'd you know that?"I asked

"I always read people's records, I like to know who and what I'm working with," he said.

"Are you allowed to do that?" I asked.

"Not really," he said, flashing me a sly smirk before looking angry again. "So, you been leaking information?"

"Should we be doing this in an elevator?" I asked.

"I don't feel like walking anywhere farther," he said. "Stop avoiding questions, I'm serious here."

"Serious guy who plays pranks on people?" I asked.

Billie Joe let out a small laugh. "Okay, seriously, were you leaking information?"

"How could I have possibly done that?" I retorted. "This is literally my first day. How could I have been leaking information for a while now?"

He thought of this for a moment.

"You're sharp. Alright, you can go I guess," he dismissed.

The elevator stopped on a floor and Hayley stepped in, glaring at the two of us. Well, I guess I have permanently made it onto her bad side.

"So, Williams, you have a motive to leak information," Billie Joe started, "Always made because they won't promote you to a rank one like me."

"Billie Joe, I will shove my foot up your ass," Hayley threatened.

I snickered and he laughed.

"are you tall enough?" He teased.

"I'm in a bad mood, don't mess with me," she grumbled.

"Aw, is it that time of the month again?" Billie Joe mocked.

Hayley tuned, pulling out a gun that was in a halter strapped around her thigh under her dress. She aimed the pistol at him with a dark look. I jumped, looking in fear. while Billie Joe barely even flinched.

"I swear I will put a bullet straight through your brain," she warned.

"Would you leaking information?" He asked.

"Of course I didn't leak any fucking information," she said. "Who the hell do you think i am?"

"You're Hayley Nichole Williams, child of Joey and Christi Williams," he listed. "Born on December 27th, you're 24 years old. Ex police officer but was fired after an incident with a bank robber that resulted in three killed civilians. Your parents were divorced and you have two younger half-sisters. You were born in Mississippi but had to move to Tennessee because of the new marriage. You are christian. You own a house on the north part of town and have a dog named Alf."

Hayley looked like she was about to explode. "Stop reading my file! I will report you to Frank!"

"Oh yeah, and he's just gonna ignore you again like how he ignores you again about your requests to be promoted," Billie Joe said.

Hayley fired the gun, shooting two holes in the elevator wall beside Billie Joe's head. He again didn't flinch, I fell back against the wall, my heart pounding in my chest.

"You can't fire that in an elevator!" I exclaimed.

How long until we get to my floor? I need to get off this elevator now.

"Don't tell me what to do or else you'll be in the same spot as Billie Joe," she threatened.

The elevator finally dinged and I hurried out.

"Hayley, what have we told you about shooting the elevator?" One of the men in the suits complained.

"Fuck off, Urine Boy," Hayley spat.

She went to walk out but Billie Joe grabbed her arm, pulling her back in and shutting the door. I started to leave the building but a man stepped in front of me.

"You're not allowed to leave," he said.

"I was interviewed by Armstrong already," I said.

He scrutinized me before stepping aside. I hurried out of the building and saw Jamia standing outside the door, leaning against the wall with a coffee in her hand.

"Couldn't stay in there, it's too crowded and hectic," she said.

"How long do you work?" I asked.

"Until nine," she said. "Long day but I don't really do much. Sit on facebook on the computer and redirect people who accidentally walk into the building."

"And you get paid to do that?" I asked.

She nodded, chuckling lightly. "So, how was your first day? Not that bad, right?"

"Yeah, it was actually kind of cool," I said. "A lot better than what I had originally expected."

"Well, I don't want to keep you," she said. "You seem like you were eager to get home."

I nodded a goodbye and got into my car. The drive home was short and I was just eager to get into bed. I got into my house, locking the door behind me. I looked at the box by the door, opened and half packed. The memories were all packed away inside there. I glanced in, seeing some old photos of my family and I and a few of Bandit's toys. I still needed to clean up the rest of the stuff and pack it away in the basement. The less I see the less painful it is.

I walked upstairs, changing out of my suit into a pair of pajama pants. I collapsed onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. The work was a lot better than I expected, it wasn't as awful as I thought. I thought it'd just bring back bad memories but I had made friends and it was slightly fun hanging out with them. The majority of the people there were rather nice, besides for being threatened to get shot and being told to suck a dick.

I looked at the messages on my phone, seeing missed calls from both my parents and Lindsey's parents. I knew they were they were wanting to talk to me. I had closed myself off after the incident, just focused on vengeance instead. They've offered to let me stay at their houses, make food for me, help me through this time. But I wasn't so much as sad, not anymore. I was pretty pissed off. I was mad at Frank and at his whole company. I swear I will take them down, I will kill Frank Iero.
