"Draco, stop!"
"No." He pushed up my sleeve and he looked at it briefly, finding what he wanted.
"Oh Davina, you didn't. You promised me, remember?"
"Yes I remember."
"I don't get why you don't trust me?"
"Draco you are the most important person in my life, of course I trust you-"
"It doesn't seem like it."
"You are my family. I wanted to tell you, I did Draco, but like you said, I was there for you, I knew what you went through and what happened, I didn't want to add to that. I didn't want you to worry about me, I don't want to be a burden."
"You are not a burden, and family always worries, I will always worry. Davina, just please."
"Did he tell you?" I looked at him straight in the eyes, "about Cedric, did he tell you?"
"Yes."
"You know and now I will tell you. Today I was asked to be in a relationship with Michael. We both have grown feelings for each other so we decided to be together. I have to move on from Cedric so this will be good for me." I could see him puzzling through a bunch of arguments but he settled on this, "are you going to do that again?" He asked pointing to my arm.
"No, I won't."
"Fine."
"Are you okay Draco?" He looks so disappointed, I hate that I did this.
"I will be." His eyes were red, his fists were clenched and I knew he was going to disappear now.
"I'm sorry." I stepped toward him and took his hand in mine again. He unclenched his hands now and he had closed his eyes again, but he was still tense. He seemed calmer so I went on my tippy toes to hug him. He exhaled and wrapped his arms around me. He wasn't letting go and my air was getting cut off but I didn't move or say anything. We just stood like this hugging for a few minutes and then someone dared to come back down the stairs so Draco let go and swiftly escaped from the common room. I was left there watching the empty space where he was just seconds ago.
"Hey Claire, can you warn us when Draco's on his period, thanks." Her bitchy tone wasn't what I needed right now and the fact that she had the audacity to speak his name- but I didn't want to waste my time on her.
"Sure Pansy, whatever you want." My mouth burned at me saying her name, but I'd get a chance to murder her. Someday.

"Is my face safe now?" I looked up at him from where I was lying on his chest.
"Yes, I spoke to him and he is fine now. He doesn't like you still but I told him that we were together so he can't do anything."
"Okay, that's good I guess." He yawned and shuffled himself down from the headboard to go to sleep.
"You really don't mind if I stay here?"
"No, I really don't." He closed his eyes and I looked around his dark blue room. I saw my Slytherin uniform on his chair that he had told me to bring so I didn't have to go to my dorm. The green looked a bit weird against all the blue. Now I yawned and I fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat, trying to match his breathing.

"Davina, wake up," he whispered. The darkness in my eyelids were a bright red, signalling that the sun was shining right on my face. I squinted with my eyes still closed and I pulled the duvet over my head to cover my eyes.
"How was your sleep?"
"Fine, until I woke up."
He chuckled, "no I mean you didn't wake up so obviously you didn't have that nightmare." I got out from under the covers and I saw him buttoning up his shirt covering his bare chest which I just missed.
"No I didn't. How refreshing."
"Yes. Now you have to get dressed." He tied his tie and then put his robes on, all good and proper with his prefect badge on the front. He walked over to the edge of the bed where I was lying and he kissed me briefly before going to his bathroom.
I got up from his bed and went to his chair where my clothes were and I took off my long sleeve and put on my bra. He came quietly behind me and clipped it on for me, and I continued to undress while he was behind me. I zipped up my skirt and left my shirt untucked, then I put on my robes, unbuttoned and turned around. He looked at the untidiness of my uniform and smirked.
"Do you not like uniform?"
"Yes and no. I like the robe and it's kind of cute, but I don't get why we have to be identified by the colour of it. Some houses get excluded completely because of some stupid stigma." He knew I was talking about Slytherin and then he eyed the green and then looked around his prefect room to all the blue. I left him standing as I went to his bathroom and brushed my teeth - he had a spare one for me, it was green.
"Let's go then." He had been waiting near his door, leaning against his wall.
"Come here," he said. I walked over to where he stood, and he snaked his arms around the inside of my robes and under my shirt touching my bare waist. He bent down and kissed me and then he kissed my neck and down my chest. I put my hands on either side of his face and lifted so that he was looking at me instead of turning me on. My thumbs were lining his jaw and I smiled up at him.
"Let's go."
"Fine." He tightened his grip around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I thought he was going to kiss me again, but he kissed my forehead instead. He trailed my arm and then interlocked our hands and then we left.

"I'm gonna go do some more damage control. What do you have first?"
"DADA, we don't have many classes together, just divination, which is after lunch."
"Oh, that stupid class."
"You don't like divination?"
"No, every year Trelawny says the thing you fear the most will come true," I did my best Trelawny impersonation, and he laughed. We walked through the entrance hand in hand, then he kissed me briefly and we went to the separate sides of the hall.
"Morning." Draco nodded nonchalantly, but he was not nonchalant on the inside.
"How was your morning?" Mat asked and I eyed him off so he wouldn't talk about Michael in front of Draco.
"It's getting cold."
"Yeah, unfortunately we don't all have a personal comforter to keep us warm."
"Mate." Mat was looking at Draco and so was I. But he was staring down at his food, not eating anything.
"Mat, we'll see you in potions, Draco let's go." Mat gave me a look that saying good luck and I got up and Draco and I headed for Hagrid's for Care of Magical Creatures.
"Are you sure you're fine?"
"Yeah, just in a mood." No, he isn't.
"Okay. Do you want to hang out after classes today?"
"And do what?"
"Stuff we usually do. I feel like we haven't spent time with each other much."
"I'm busy."
"Doing what?"
"Malfoy dinner, always on a Monday."
"Oh, okay. I could come. I haven't seen your mum since your birthday."
"I don't know, my father is more... my father, than usual."
"Good luck with that then. If it's really bad, afterwards you can come find me. I'll be in the common room when you get back."
"You don't have to."
"I know, I want to." I looped his arm and I leaned on him as we walked. "You helped me be okay, so now I want you to be okay. Now let's go listen to this oaf talk about boring creatures." He chuckled and I looked up at him to see his face as he did so. It was rare that he smiled so you have to cherish it when it happens.

The five of us were sprinting to potions class because Hagrid went over time. We were late to Snape, and he would surely give us all detention. Zabini, Crabbe, Goyle and Draco and I finally reached the classroom, and I opened the door and we all walked in.
"Sorry we're late Professor, we had Hagrid and he made us stay longer." It was hard to tell whether it was Snape's hatred for Hagrid or his pride over his house, but he just nodded in understanding and waited till we took our seats. Draco and I joined Mat who was alone on a table waiting for us.
"Now, today we will discuss and prepare an Everlasting Elixir. As the name suggests, these potions never run out. We will begin with a lecture on Everlasting Elixirs. Pay attention," he snapped and then he dimmed the classroom and started to pace at the front as he began talking. I was about to fall asleep listening to him talk but Draco would shake my arm every few seconds.
"Now, [my eyes shot open to his sudden outburst], you will prepare this Elixir by following pages 264 and 265, do not fail or make any mistakes. Your lack of prudence is already bothersome." As usual, Draco and I finished before everyone else and our Elixirs were outstanding according to Snape, while Mat's was acceptable, and he finished with everyone else.
"You'd think that after all the time we spend together your advanced skills in potions would rub off on me." Draco and I chuckled as we finished cleaning and walked out of the classroom to head to lunch, leaving Mattheo, who was still cleaning up.
As we sat and put food on our plates a pure white owl swiftly flew down and landed right in front of Draco and I.
"Isn't that your family's owl?"
"Yep, I guess it's urgent if Noctua has come now." He took the envelope off Noctua's talon and turned it over. "It has your name on it." He handed it to me then let Noctua have a nibble and then it flew off elegantly. I opened the Slytherin green Malfoy wax seal and then I began reading it.
Dear Davina,
I hope you are well and that school is challenging for you.
You may know that we are having a family dinner this evening and I would be delighted if you would join us.
Sincerely,
Narcissa
I picked up on the I would be delighted. It's not like Lucius wants me there. In fact I don't even think he wants his son there.
"I guess you do have to spend time with me today."
"What do you mean? What does it say?"
"Your mum invited me to dinner."
"Oh, you don't have to go if you don't want to."
"Draco, just because I detest, abhor and loathe your father doesn't mean I won't come. I endure his existence for you. Now I haven't been to one of these in like a year, so what do we wear again?"
"Just whatever. Preferably dark and formal, that's how we dress."
"Draco, when have you ever seen me in a colour other than black or green?"
"Right, you'll figure it out then."
"Okay, I'm going to head to my last class and then I'll get ready and we can meet in your dorm at quarter to." Every single Malfoy dinner began at 6pm sharp and tardiness was not accepted. I saw Michael across the hall and I nodded to him, signalling for us to get to divination.

"Oh, I'm afraid that I see the same thing Miss Claire. So peculiar how your fate is the same, funny thing time, I see so many dark events in your future." She spoke as if it were her last breath and she was desperately getting her words out. It creeped me out. I snatched my hand back from her shaky ones and her goggle eyes wandered elsewhere. I turned to Michael, rolling my eyes.
"See."
"It's not that bad."
"Yeah, but why can't she see something positive in my future. Like me getting a really good job, either relating to quidditch or potions, and that I am rich." He chuckled and took his hand in mine, reading my palm. He looked from his book to my palm several times, flicking pages and tracing his finger along the lines in my palm.
"I actually see what she means. This line is about your near future and it says that you will experience a shock. It is ambiguous whether it is a positive or a negative shock, but yeah."
"Wow, that's great. Thanks." He turned his head to check that Trelawny wasn't watching and then he leaned over and pecked me on the lips.
"Oh by the way, I'm having dinner at the Malfoy's tonight so I won't be going to your dorm."
"You still can if you want. It won't be that late, and if I'm asleep just come in anyway."
"I'm not going to do that."
"Why not? You're my girlfriend, you can do whatever you want." It was the first time he referred to me as that and I didn't know how I felt about it. So I decided that I liked it.
