┌TWENTY ONE┐

When Jungkook woke up, he instantly felt a warm body against his. He opened his eyes slowly, hearing birds chirping, the sun pouring into the room through the window. Jungkook was facing a chest, so he looked up and saw Taehyung, fast asleep.
Taehyung was.. so handsome. Jungkook felt his heartbeat increase just looking at him. Just taking in his features, his eyes, the little mole on his face, his lips. He was beautiful. And he made Jungkook feel beautiful too. He made Jungkook feel.. different. Something he's never felt before. This.. this fluttering sensation, like nothing else mattered when they were together. Jungkook felt himself drowning everytime he looked at those brown eyes of his, dim yet alluring.
Jungkook nestled his head against him again, into the crook of his neck. He heard Taehyung hum gently, moving a little to pull Jungkook closer in. Jungkook bit his bottom lip, concealing a smile.
"Good morning." Jungkook whispered, and saw as Taehyung slowly stirred awake, opening his eyes, blinking hesitantly. He looked around, yawning lightly.
Suddenly, Taehyung jolted awake, sitting upright. He grabbed his phone from the nightstand, practically falling off the bed as he stood up. Taehyung groaned, running his hand through his hair.
"Fuck-" Taehyung mumbled under his breath. "I didn't realize I fell asleep, damnit." Taehyung cursed, and then began hastily typing into his phone.
Jungkook rolled to his side, pulling the blankets up. "What happened?" Jungkook asked drowsily, and Taehyung looked at him and sighed.
"I.. um.." Taehyung started, looking at Jungkook hesitantly. Jungkook saw the apprehension in his eyes, but then saw it wash away as Taehyung let out a small breath of relief. "I had to go somewhere last night. I-I guess I fell asleep and didn't realize,"
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, sitting up, blankets still draped over him. "Where do you go? If-if you don't mind me asking- I mean- y-you don't have to answer. It's just- H-Hoseok said that day you go somewhere at night, a-and-"
Taehyung reached forward and knelt down a little, placing his hand on Jungkook's cheek and pressing their lips together for a short kiss. Taehyung pulled away and gave him a small smile.
"You can ask me, Jungkook. We're in a proper relationship now. We're meant to trust and know everything about each other." Taehyung said softly, and Jungkook blushed lightly, nodding.
Taehyung stood up and sat down next to him, turning to him slightly. "I.. kind of have this other job. Well- it-it's not really a job."
Taehyung said, and Jungkook rose his eyebrows. "Just- don't-don't get weirded out. Or tell the others, okay?"
Jungkook frowned. "Kook, you trust me, tight?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook nodded quickly.
"Of course I do, Tae."
"Alright. So basically.." Taehyung trailed, and then gulped, looking down. "There's this woman who lives downtown. She's very old, wheelchair bound. She used to be my neighbour when I was younger and lived with my parents. She.. was lovely, really. Took care of me when my parents were away. She was like my grandmother." Taehyung said, and Jungkook tilted his head slightly.
"I always go to her house early in the morning to clean it up and throw away the garbage and feed her cats and stuff. She-she deserves that much from me, at least. But I go before she wakes up and just leave a note because I know she'll start a fuss if she knows I'm there." Taehyung chuckled lightly, and Jungkook felt his head face up, eyes widening fondly.
"R-really?" Jungkook squeaked, and Taehyung nodded, cheeks turning slightly red.
"Yeah- um- it-it's not a big deal, Kook. I mean, it's kinda lame, if I'm honest-"
"Lame?" Jungkook let out, a smile adorning his face. "It's adorable, Taehyung. You're-you're adorable. I r-really like you. That's the sweetest thing ever." Jungkook said softly, and Taehyung smiled, slight crinkles by his eyes.
"Don't tell the others- they'll probably think of me as a pussy. But, anyways. I don't want you to be concerned, baby. I lied to the others, but you can know. 'Cause I trust you." Taehyung whispered softly, leaning forward and booping their noses together.
Jungkook giggled lightly, gripping Taehyung's hands. "I-I feel like I've gotten to know more about you, Taehyung. Now c'mon, let's go brush our teeth so we can kiss properly." Jungkook said, and Taehyung smiled.

Jungkook walked into the kitchen, Taehyung somewhere else, filling out some duties for Jungkook's father. The moment he walked in, he heard nothing but silence.
"God job on the intrusion yesterday, Jungkook." Hoseok said, patting Jungkook's back while walking past him. Jungkook just nodded, walking over to the counter to take some bread.
He still had to show them that he wasn't afraid. He was a man. Sure, it was easy to crumble in front of Taehyung (when he had those darkened eyes and had his hand jammed between the younger's thighs), but he had to keep his composure in front of the others.
"What's the plan today?" Jungkook asked, walking over to the table where three boys were seated. Namjoon looked up at him.
For a split second, Jungkook wondered if Namjoon would snicker and tell Jungkook; the plan is for you to stay in your room, baby. But he didn't.
"Nothing much. Jimin might get released from the hospital soon." Namjoon explained, and Jungkook hummed, popping the bread into the toaster.
"That's nice." Jungkook said, and then he heard footsteps approach the kitchen and turned.
Jungkook felt his insides falter slightly when he saw white hair, dark eyes, and a tired stride. Yoongi. Jungkook felt fear, something he shouldn't have to feel in front of a man he's known since he was a child. He suddenly felt like running away, hiding under a blanket.
"Jungkook," Yoongi said sharply, and Jungkook continued looking straight at his toaster, trying to get it to come out quicker. "We need to talk."
Jungkook gulped hesitantly, trembling hands taking out barely toasted bread. Jungkook chose not to respond, maybe he'd go away if Jungkook just stayed shut. But Yoongi sighed.
"Jungkook, don't make me repeat myself." Yoongi snapped, and Jungkook dropped his plate onto the table, turning to him.
"O-okay. Sorry.2 Jungkook said quickly, and felt that same fear he always had invade his body. Dammit- he was trying to be strong for once.
Jungkook walked out with Yoongi, following him like a little puppy in distress. Jungkook saw Yoongi walk towards the door leading to the backyard and open it. Jungkook instantly felt his mind race. Oh god. He's going to kill me.
For some reason, that thought didn't sound that ludicrous. Jungkook genuinely began thinking Yoongi had got him to the backyard where no one could hear him scream to fucking murder him.
Jungkook entered the backyard and stood near to the door. This way he could run away faster if Yoongi took out a gun to-
Yoongi turned around and then sat down on one of the chairs, and then looked at Jungkook and nudged the seat, telling Jungkook to sit down. Jungkook hesitantly walked forward and sat down, sitting on the edge of the seat, hands fumbling.
Jungkook looked away from Yoongi, afraid to see the pure anger in his eyes when he lashes out again. He heard Yoongi sigh softly.
"Jungkook, I-"
"I'm sorry, Yoongi!" Jungkook blurted out, nails digging into his palm. "I-I'm s-sorry for being in-incapable of doing stuff a-and hurting Jimin. I'm sorry, a-and I know you hate me now and I understand b-but please don't hurt me-"
"Kook," Yoongi snapped, and Jungkook hesitantly met with his eyes. "I'm not here to be mad at you. I'm here to apologize."
Jungkook felt himself ease up.
He saw Yoongi close his eyes a little and then open them, looking at Jungkook. "Do you remember when you were.. around 7, I think. I was new to the Mafia, only 16. I was a huge dick to you, really. I found you rather annoying for the first few weeks." Yoongi chuckled, and Jungkook looked down at his shoes, because he knew that.
"You used to follow me around everywhere. I don't even know why- you'd just always try to be behind me or sit on my lap or something. You were like a puppy. You acted like a literal puppy, too. You used to roll around and play with toys and woof at random things. And I don't know how- but somewhere I joined in on the feelings all the other boys had for you. You were tiny, Kook. Still are. You were our little pet- you called yourself that, remember?"
Jungkook blushed, hiding his face in his hands. "Yeah. I-I just wanted to be the little puppy that everyone takes for walks and loves. That's why you started calling me it." Jungkook giggled.
"I've seen you grow up. I was there the day you ran into our basement room, crying about the monster under your bed. I was there the day you broke a vase and then started crying. I was there the day you first held a gun and then dropped it and... well, cried."
"I cried a lot." Jungkook said, and Yoongi snickered, looking at him.
"Yeah, you did. But.. we never taught you how to fight the monsters under your bed. We merely taught you how to stop crying." Yoongi said, and Jungkook looked at him.
"I'm so mad at myself, Kook." Yoongi let out, and Jungkook's eyebrows rose a little. "I-I shouldn't say those things to anyone. Especially not you. Every single thing I said- it was wrong, completely wrong."
Jungkook looked at him with sparkling eyes, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "I let the shock of seeing Jimin so-so hurt wallow inside of me and took it out on you. Yes, you messed up. But y'know what? I'll teach you how to not make that mistake again." Yoongi said, and Jungkook smiled a little.
"I'm sorry, Kook. I totally understand if you stay mad at me. I-I can't even look at myself in the mirror, frankly speaking." Yoongi snickered, a hint of sadness in his tone.
Yoongi heard no words, just saw Jungkook get up from his seat and plop himself down onto Yoongi's lap, the older man letting out a confused "Oh-"
Jungkook wrapped his arms around his neck, and Yoongi smiled a little and wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist, hugging him back. "It's okay. I'm sorry too. I didn't think you would apologize.. partially because I thought it was my fault and you shouldn't have to."
"Of course I do. One, because I was an asshole and no one deserves that. And two, because your boyfriend kinda yelled at me." Yoongi chuckled, and Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes.
"H-he did?"
"Yeah. Yelled at me and Jin and Namjoon. Set us straight. We shouldn't treat you so badly. You don't deserve that, baby."
Jungkook hugged him tightly, squishing his cheek against the side of his head. "I won't make that mistake again, Yoongi. I promise. Also- is Jimin okay?"
"Yeah, he's in our room right now. Napping."
"He's back already?" Jungkook snapped, and then widened his eyes. "I wanna go meet him!"
"Just see him when he wakes up. But, anyways, I should go up and check on him. Thanks for being so understanding. I know I can be mean sometimes- we all can- but in the end of the day, we love you. You're our little bunny, aren't ya?"
Jungkook felt every inch of 'man' leaving him in an instant, and just nodded, smiling. "I-I am!" Jungkook squeaked, and Yoongi pressed a little kiss to his cheek.
Suddenly, the door to the backyard opened, and there stood Jin. "Hey Yoongs- Jimin's up, and he's-"
Yoongi accidentally pushing Jungkook off his lap and just rushed out. Jungkook rubbed his back, falling onto the floor, but he understood why Yoongi was in a rush. Jin chuckled and walked over to Jungkook, reaching his arm out.
Jungkook grabbed it and stood up, and felt Jin place his hand on his back and lead him against the entrance back into the house. "Your toast is still in the kitchen." Jin said, and Jungkook looked at him, rubbing his elbow lightly.
"Okay.." Jungkook said in a small voice, and then saw Jin turn and about to leave, but then grabbed Jin's arm. Jin turned around and saw Jungkook's big eyes.
Jungkook rushed forward and wrapped his arms around the older boy. Jin stumbled back a little, but hugged him back, confused.
"I'm confused, Jin." Jungkook said softly, and Jin tightened his hold around him. "Because I want to be like you guys, a-and I want to be an adult and go on missions- but-but I-I'm still a baby. And I don't mind being the baby of the house." Jungkook squeaked, and then felt a soft rumble as Jin chuckled.
"Oh, dumpling- as much as you might hate it sometimes, you are our baby and we sometimes treat you like one. And I'm sorry we do- because we shouldn't. It-it's just- we can't help it, y'know?"
Jungkook nodded, pulling back from the hug.
"We won't baby you all the time. Not on missions, we won't. Not during serious situations, we won't." Jin said softly, and Jungkook smiled a little.
"B-but if I want some pancakes for breakfast, will Jinnie make them?" Jungkook asked, and then saw Jin purse his lips and roll his eyes. Jungkook whined softly, but then heard Jin chuckle.
"Of course I will, pet. Chocolate chip pancakes for you and Jimin. Now go up and meet him." Jin said, and Jungkook nodded hurriedly, and then rushed up, getting a little pat on the butt by Jin.
Jungkook was running up the stairs, when he saw a silver haired boy walking down it. Jungkook ran into him by accident, and felt his arms hold his waist.
"Woah- doll. Where're you speedin' off to?"
"To see Jimin!" Jungkook said, and saw Taehyung let out a small fond smile.
"Well go see him! I'm going to get some water for him." Taehyung said, and Jungkook suddenly leaned forward and pressed their lips together firmly. Taehyung gasped a little but then kissed him back, pulling away and cocking his eyebrow.
"Yoongi told me you stood up for me that day after he yelled at me. You-you mean a lot to me, Taehyung. Thank you for.. everything." Jungkook let out, and Taehyung looked at Jungkook with glittering eyes.
"Always, baby. Won't let anyone hurt you." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook smiled.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
