┌TWENTY EIGHT┐

It was the night they kissed properly.
Not when Taehyung kissed Jungkook to 'distract Mark' or whatever, but when they kissed in Jungkook's bedroom, after the chef died.
It was when Jungkook clutched onto Taehyung's shirt with his fragile hands, and looked up at him with teary eyes, and just whimpered out his name, when Taehyung felt his heart beat increase.
Taehyung doesn't love. He doesn't know what love is. He lost everything he loved at the mere age of 12. For some it might be strange, but Taehyung loved his parents more than anything. They were young and made sure he was always happy. Even if they were having bad days, they made sure their son wasn't.
And-and to lose everything, at the hands of a man who only laughed after. He doesn't know what he took away. He took away someone's light, someone's life, someone's family. And what did he gain from it? Nothing. He gained nothing, but Taehyung lost everything.
Wang Ruiji, a close friend of his parent's, picked Taehyung up and took him to their mansion, where Taehyung met the other boys. Mark was 18. Jackson was also 18. And they promised him they'd train him and make him one of theirs.
Taehyung spent the next 10 years training and doing small jobs and such. Sleeping with different boys and girls he'd pick up at bars was the only intimate connection he had with anyone. At the back of his mind, he knew he wasn't happy. Nothing could make him happy. Not until his parent's death was avenged.
The Jeons. He didn't know anything about them, but he already hated them. He wanted them dead. He wanted them all dead and gone like his parents. So when Jackson's father came up to Taehyung himself and gave him this mission, Taehyung snatched it and was eager to comply.
What he believed was far from what the truth was. When he first saw the 18 year old boy (who he'd accidentally slept with earlier), he presumed him to be nasty, cold, a bitch.
But to later find Jungkook talking about why chocolate tart is better than apple tart for a whole 16 minutes- Taehyung's perception changed.
But no. He had to get revenge. Wasn't that what he wanted? To kill them all off?
He wasn't supposed to fall for Jungkook. He wasn't supposed to enjoy kissing him, and holding him, and being with him. But that boy- he made Taehyung feel something. Taehyung felt happy around him. No one made Taehyung happy.
Except Jungkook.
"Where is he?" Jackson asked again, and Taehyung sat there on the couch, hands wringing.
"I-I don't know- I left him there-"
Jackson kicked the chair beside him in anger, making it fall over. He looked at Taehyung with frustration in his eyes, which Taehyung saw through his dulled ones. "You left him there?? Didn't we clearly ask you to bring him? Why the fuck couldn't you follow a simple instruction?!"
"I'm sorry, Jackson! But I just couldn't bring him." Taehyung snapped, and he saw Mark sigh beside him, trying not to get upset at either party, remaining neutral.
"Couldn't, or didn't want to?" Jaebum asked, and Taehyung's breath hitched.
"I did, he-he found out, and I was going to- but-but-"
"But what? This makes everything so much harder, Kim. My father wanted him here so he could get answers because you're not giving us any. Now he's not only going to be pissed at you, he's also going to be pissed at Mark, and me, and everyone else." Jackson ranted.
Taehyung looked at the floor, unable to comprehend the words and feelings surrounding him at the moment. "I'm sorry." Taehyung breathed out, and Jackson scoffed.
"Sorry doesn't cut it. I have to tell my father something. I can't go empty handed. Tell me something, anything that's vital." Jackson asked, and Taehyung felt all eyes on him.
"I-"
"Don't tell us you don't know anything, Taehyung. We know you do." Jinyoung interrupted, and Taehyung sighed, and then placed his hands against his face, gulping.
"Fine. Junghyun, he-he was murdered by- um- by Dokeun." Taehyung mumbled out, and everyone in the room paused, eyes widened, mouths falling.
"What?!" Mark snapped, and Yugyeom accidentally let out a laugh.
"That's fucking insane!" Yugyeom said, and Mark gave him a look, to which Yugyeom shut up.
"Why didn't you tell us that?" Mark continued, and Jackson walked up to him.
"If we knew that earlier, we could've used it against them, Taehyung. What's gotten into you?" Jackson snapped, and Taehyung shrugged.
"I don't know. I-I don't know. I'm sorry." Taehyung let out again, voice weak, barely coherent.
Mark sighed, and then turned to Jackson, seeing how angry he looked. "Go tell that to your father. I'll deal with him." Mark said softly, and Jackson exhaled sharply and just walked, making sure Taehyung saw his glare.
The other boys walked out, and Mark turned to Taehyung and sat down beside him.
"You have a lot of explaining to do." Mark said, and Taehyung snickered humorlessly, because he knew he did.

"There, see? All bandaged up." Jin said softly, wrapping the last white bandage around Jungkook's hand. Jungkook didn't respond, continued looking at the floor.
"Pumpkin?" Jin said, and Jungkook looked up at him with his sad doey eyes, red with tears. "You can talk to us. You know that, right?"
Jungkook shook his head. "C-can't. Or he'll get hurt."
"What did Taehyung do, bub? We won't hurt him, we promise." Jin whispered, and Jungkook shook his head again.
"H-he didn't do anything. Don't hurt him." Jungkook repeated, and Jin sighed. He'd been saying that for quite some time now.
Jin stood up and then leant down to press a kiss to Jungkook's forehead. "Stay in here for a bit, okay? Look- your milk is right here, and so is your favourite book!" Jin said, and Jungkook continued staring at the floor.
Jin saw as Jungkook's eyes welled up with tears, and Jin sighed softly, lifting his head up. "Tears again?"
Jungkook blinked, looking up at him. "W-why does everyone hate me?" Jungkook squeaked out, and Jin's eyebrows furrowed.
Namjoon, who had been at the door, hearing the whole conversation play out, stepped inside, walking up to Jungkook and Jin.
"What?"
"M-my father called me a faggot and t-told me I-I will never be anything close to my-my brother. M-my brother used to beat me up and terrorize me for y-years, and you all did nothing. You just let him g-get away with it. You let him hurt me, again and again. W-w-why does everyone k-keep hurting me? What-what am I doing wrong?" Jungkook let out, words barely leaving his lumped throat.
"Hey, hey- no one hates you, baby. We know we were bad back then, but we'll protect you against everything now." Namjoon said, crouching beside him.
"Kook, please, tell us what happened. Why did you take those pills? And smash your mirror? Why did Taehyung leave? We just want you to be safe." Namjoon said, and Jungkook suddenly felt something take over him.
Hurt after hurt after hurt. No one loves him. No one cares about him. He's a piece of scrap. A piece of scrap that gets kicked around. A piece of scrap that should learn to fight back.
"I was trying to kill myself." Jungkook choked out, and saw their eyes become bigger in worry.
Jungkook didn't even see Yoongi, Hoseok, and Jimin enter the room.
"Jungkook- don't ever try and-"
"I broke my mirror because I hate seeing myself. I'm sorry, but t-that's what my father would've wanted a-anyway, because he's right. I'm useless and I gave everything away-" Jungkook continued through tears, and Jimin sat down beside Jungkook.
"Jungkook, you know none of this is your fault, right? You didn't know what Taehyung was doing, and if you did- you wouldn't have let him continue. Don't you dare think you're at fault. He's the one at fault. Not you." Jimin said, and Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows.
"What the hell did Taehyung do?" Yoongi asked, and Jungkook froze.
Jungkook turned to Namjoon slowly. "Please don't be mad at me." Jungkook whispered, and Namjoon placed his hand on Jungkook's knee, confused.
"Taehyung. He-he works for them." Jungkook whispered, and saw Namjoon's eyebrows furrow slightly.
"The Wangs. He works for them. H-he was sent to make me fall for him and give away all the information." Jungkook continued, not feeling a single emotion in his body to tell him to stop. "Father killed Taehyung's parents. So Taehyung wanted revenge."
Yoongi's eyes widened. Hoseok looked angry, because he fucking called it. Jin gasped lightly, and Jimin pursed his lips because he knew it already.
Namjoon's eyes shone with something, something red.
"H-he hurt me, Namjoon. He hurt me." Jungkook let out, tears rising to his eyes. "H-he lied, and-and took my virginity, and-and he told me I meant nothing to him!" Jungkook choked out, and Jin placed his hand on Jungkook's back, because the boy was shaking.
Namjoon stood up slowly, and Jungkook saw the darkened expression in his eyes.
"He hurt you?" Namjoon asked slowly, voice in a deep growl. The others looked at Namjoon, gulped slightly because they'd never seen him look this angry.
"So badly." Jungkook whispered. "He used me. A-and I'm sorry for telling him things," Jungkook squeaked out, and Namjoon's breathing got a little heavier now, because he was boiling.
"It's not your fault, Jungkook." Jin said, and Jungkook continued looking up at Namjoon.
"D-don't hurt him, just-just know that he-" Before Jungkook could finish his sentence, Namjoon walked out of the room.
Jungkook sprung up and rushed out of the room, seeing Namjoon walking down the stairs. "N-Namjoon, wait! Don't- don't hurt him!" Jungkook called out, rushing down the stairs and reaching Namjoon.
"Joon, please-"
"You know what I promised to myself when you were 6 years old, Jungkook?" Namjoon said gravely, turning around to look at him. Jungkook looked up at his eyes which looked like an abyss of darkness and anger.
"I promised myself that I'd never let a single thing hurt you. And I did. And you were almost gone because of that." Namjoon said, and then walked closer to Jungkook.
"And I'm sorry, Jungkook. But if I don't find Kim Taehyung right this instant and shoot him in the head, I won't be able to live with myself." Namjoon growled, and Jungkook's breath hitched, eyes widened.
"N-Namjoon-" Jungkook tried, and Namjoon already put his finger on the earpiece in his ear.
"Car at front. Three to four guns. Location on Wang Residency." Namjoon told the man through the earpiece, and Jungkook tugged on Namjoon's arm, but he clearly wasn't listening.
"Yoongi! Hoseok!" Namjoon called loudly, and Yoongi and Hoseok rushed downstairs. "Get in the car. We're gonna go find Taehyung." Namjoon said, and Jungkook felt tears rushing down his face.
"P-Please Namjoon, don't kill him, please, please don't kill him!" Jungkook sobbed, but Namjoon wasn't listening. "I-I-I still love him! Don't-"
Before Jungkook could finish, Jin grabbed him from the bag and wrapped his arms around him. "It's okay. It's okay. It's what he deserves."
Jungkook shook his head, clutching onto Jin's shirt. "H-he doesn't- p-p-please-"
"Jimin, keep an eye on Jungkook. Jin, go tell Mr. Jeon that the attack on the Wangs has already begun." Namjoon growled, and Jungkook felt it harder to breathe.
"D-don't-" Jungkook continued feebly, trying to leave Jin's arms and tell Namjoon to stop, but he wouldn't budge. Before he could do anything, the three boys were out the door.
