Velocirabbits are the result of a top-secret set of experiments involving the transfusion of raptor DNA into the body of a rabbit. The motive behind this experiment remains unknown.

   The first 14 subjects involved in the Velocirabbit project have all been badly mutilated, due to the balance between their predator and prey DNA being uneven, resulting in their bodies tearing themselves apart.

   The first successful experiment, VR-015, is the species standard. Highly intelligent, this subject actually became too smart for his own good, and ultimately managed to escape. His whereabouts are currently unknown to lab officials.

VR-015, along with VR-016 and VR-017, were all created using the transfusion method, meaning they were all normal rabbits prior to this experiment. This is why the species has a furry tail base. When these subjects first transformed into the creatures they are now, the long raptor tail grew out from the small, fluffy rabbit tail they already had.
