I didn't go home after my class yesterday. Ryan wouldn't be home anyway and I couldn't go another night by myself. I was walking down the street in the morning light. Soon enough, I made it to the front door of the house.

I walked in and slowly trudged to the room. I threw my bag on the floor and sat on the naturally empty bed. I dropped my head in my hands, feeling exhausted for reasons I wasn't even sure of.

"Where there hell were you?" I looked up to see Ryan standing angrily at the doorway.

"What?" He huffed in frustration.

"Yesterday. I came home and you weren't even here." I rolled my eyes.

"What does it matter?"

"Well, seeing that we had plans to go out, I guess I kinda expected you to be here so we could fulfill those plans." I scoffed.

"You were actually going to take me out," I asked sarcastically.

"Of course I was going to take you out? Why wouldn't I?"

"I wish I could answer that Ryan, but I don't know. All I know is that we haven't gone on a date in weeks and any time we make plans to, you keep me waiting for an hour before cancelling." I stood up and started pacing. All this pent up anger toward him that I didn't realize I had started coming out. "So excuse me if I decide that I didn't want to be let down again."

"You know I've been busy with my work lately," he said in his defense.

"Too busy to spend time with me?" My voice grew louder. "To kiss me goodbye? To come home?" I was breathing heavily and watched for any reaction from him. I saw nothing and my voice went weak. "You're too busy for that?" I stared at him and waiting for a response. He looked upset and all the anger he might've had before was gone.

"Ryan, I miss you," I felt tears burn my eyes. I let out a pained laugh. Man, I was so tired of crying over the same thing. "I miss us. I miss the way you held me at night or the way you'd look at me in psych. The most contact I get from you now is from wearing your shirt."

Tears slipped down my cheeks as we stood silently. I could see a thin line of tears shining in his eyes. His bottom lip was shaking gently. There was quite a bit of distance between us.

"What happened to us?" I choked out. He out a broken sigh.

"Brendon.." The sound of his voice was enough to send me into a fit of sobs. "I'm sorry."
