Armin stared at the door impatiently, silently hoping a certain (h/c)-haired girl will walk in with her beautiful smile that had Armin completely head-over-heels for her.

He tapped his fingers against a book he had rested on the table in front of him, next to a red rose he had brought just in case. Slight anxiety rushed through his body and his heart was beating furiously. His heart seemed to stop and he felt like crying when he thought of the possibility that you could've forgotten your promise, or worse, gotten a date.

You're probably pretty confused now, aren't you? Well, it all started exactly a year, on none other than Valentine's Day.

You skimmed through the bookshelves, looking for (b/t). Your eyes came across a certain book you had been looking for, and a smile crossed your face as you reached for it. You let out a small gasp as your hand came in contact with another hand.

"I-I'm so sorry!" The owner of the other hand had apologized frantically. You looked to your side, seeing a blonde boy with sky blue eyes and a visible blush on his cheeks as an apologetic expression was plastered to his adorable face.

"I-It's ok," you assured sweetly, smiling shyly as a light tint of pink covered your cheeks. An awkward silence fell over the two of you as you both awkwardly looked away, desperately trying to think of anything to say.

The boy looked over at the book both of you were reaching for, before grabbing it and handing it to you, a slight blush visible on his cheeks again.

"H-here," he said, offering (b/t) to you. You looked down at the book before bringing your gaze back up to the blushing blonde in front of you, a slight look of shock plastered on your face. A complete stranger was being nice and offering a book he wanted too, who wouldn't be at least a little shocked?

"No, you keep it," you replied, smiling warmly back at the boy who's cheeks had finally gotten a little better. He shook his head in response.

"It's ok, I've already read it." He sent a genuine smile, before you hesitantly took (b/t) from him.

"Thanks," you thanked, a happy expression on your face as you held the book close to your chest. "My name's (y/n), by the way." The boy's face seemed to light up by your name, before quickly introducing himself as well.

"I'm Armin," he introduced, smiling happily before tilting his head to the side in confusion for his next question. "What are you doing at a library on Valentine's Day?" You slumped your shoulders and let out a small sigh.

"Distracting myself from the harsh reality of this brutal holiday," you muttered, loud enough for Armin to hear. He chuckled at your choice of words and sent you a reassuring smile.

"Valentine's sure can be a pain when you don't have a date, can't it?"

"Sadly," you sighed, sadly averting your gaze elsewhere. A thought crossed your mind and you instantly looked back at Armin, a smile playing on your lips.

"How about this: if none of us have a date next Valentine, we'll meet up here and hang out?" You suggested.

"Sure," Armin agreed, a smile forming on his face despite the light shade of pink on his cheeks. Your smile instantly widened.

"Great! It's a promise!" You exclaimed, before leaving the flushed blonde boy. Little did you know, Armin wasn't planning on forgetting this promise.

Armin was broken out of his painful thoughts when a jingle was heard, meaning someone had opened the door to the library Armin was waiting. He looked to his side, his eyes instantly widening and his jaw dropping in disbelief.

Before him, was none other than you, with your same (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes and beautiful smile that seemed to widen when you saw the certain blonde. You sat down next to the gazed boy, breaking him from his trance.

"I-I can't believe you came!" He exclaimed, a happy smile on his lips as he took in your appearance he hadn't seen in exactly a year.

"I don't have a date, so I would be a promise-breaker if I didn't come," you explained, smiling warmly at the overly-happy boy beside you. Armin looked away as he remembered the rose he had gotten for you and a blush spread across his cheeks.

"I didn't think you would come, but I-I got you this in case," he explained, before handing out the rose to you. He kept his gaze elsewhere, too flustered to look at you.

Your eyes widened and a slight gasp escaped your lips when you saw the red rose in front of you. You gently grabbed it away from Armin, looking down at it with a smile and a shade of pink on your cheeks.

"Thank you," you muttered shyly, keeping your gaze locked on the rose, before looking up at the blonde to see him looking back at you. He sent you a sweet smile, despite the major blush on his face.

"Happy Valentine's."
