Entering the pizzeria, you noticed that the animatronics weren't in their places on stage. As you locked the doors, you thought back on what had happened. You started working the night shift at the pizzeria, and after a week, when you came back, the animatronics seemed much more docile. They "grew too fond of you to try to kill you anymore."
"(Y/N)!" a voice made you turn around.
"Hey, Toy Chica," you chuckled as she ran up to you.
"I made cupcakes for you!" she exclaimed, holding a tray of decorated cupcakes to you. "Do you want one?"
"Oh, sure." You carefully picked one up, holding your hand under it as you took a bite. "Mmm!"
"You enjoying those cupcakes?" Toy Bonnie teased as she walked out of the Main Hall.
"Oh yeah!" you replied through a mouthful, making Toy Chica giggle.
"So, are you ready?" Mangle wondered, following Toy Bonnie.
"Oh--" You swallowed the piece of cupcake--"we doing this now?"
"When else would we do it?" Mangle asked.
"Maybe after I ate my cupcake?" you mumbled, taking another bite.
"We suppose we can wait until then," Toy Bonnie snickered.
The animatronics had been talking about introducing you to someone you hadn't yet met: Puppet. Although you were a bit nervous meeting her, if she was as nice as the rest of the animatronics, there wouldn't be a problem.
As you finished your cupcake, you felt something tug at your pants. You looked down, to see Balloon Boy attempting to steal your flashlight. You grabbed it from him, huffing. He then giggled, running off.
"Ready?" Toy Bonnie asked.
"I guess so," you murmured, wiping your mouth off with your sleeve.
You followed the animatronics as they led you to the Prize Corner. They stopped at the large gift box that was set against the wall.
"Puppet, you have a visitor," Toy Chica sang, lightly tapping on the box.
The lid opened, and out stood the Puppet. You had seen her on the cameras before, but you never realized how tall she was. She towered over you.
"Puppet, this is (Y/N)," Mangle introduced you, gesturing you forward.
"Hi." You gave a slight wave, smiling somewhat nervously.
"Hello, (Y/N)," Puppet replied, nodding to you.
"This is the night guard that was here last week," Toy Bonnie pointed out.
"Apologies if I may have frightened you before," Puppet excused herself.
"Oh, no, I understand . . . sorta."
"It's nice to finally meet you, though."
"You too."
"You guys are going to get along so well!" Toy Chica cheered. "You both are so kind and fun to hang out with and know what to do when someone is feeling down."
"I'm flattered you think that of me," you spoke under your breath, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Why don't we leave you two to get to know each other?" Mangle suggested.
"Sure." Puppet nodded.
You watched the animatronics walk away, making their way back to the Main Hall. You turned back to Puppet, feeling a bit awkward by the silence.
"Do you like music?" Puppet inquired.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I do," you agreed.
"Would you mind if I played mine?"
"Not at all."

A few days passed and you would visit Puppet more and more often. You found out that she wasn't much of a talker, which you were fine with. Instead, you would sit against her box, listening to her music with her.
"What are you doing?" Puppet wondered, peeking over your shoulder.
"Oh, I'm playing a game," you told her, moving your head over a bit so she could see the screen of the console you had. "It's called Pokémon."
"How do you play?"
"Basically, you catch creatures, level them up, and make them fight each other. That sounds bad, but it's fun," you assured her.
"Interesting."
She watched you play curiously. You had the volume low so Puppet could still hear her music. You had noticed that it was the same song she played, over and over.
"Hey, Puppet," you murmured.
"Yes?"
"Not that I mind, but why is it you always listen to this song? If you don't mind me asking."
"It keeps my spirit calm."
"Oh, okay . . . Wait, literally?"
"Literally."
"Hey, I'm glad to see you two getting along so much!" Toy Chica gushed, making both of you look up at her. "I made more cupcakes! Do you want some?"
"Yeah, I love your cupcakes," you excitedly said, setting your game down.
"Aw, thank you." Toy Chica blushed lightly, grinning.
She lowered the tray she had as you reached for a cupcake. You grabbed one and sat back against the box. You hummed a tune as you started to eat it.
When you went to grab your game, you noticed that it was missing. Instinctively, you panicked and looked around for it spastically. Toy Chica gestured for you to look back, and when you did, you saw that Puppet was trying to play it.
"Do you need some help?" you chuckled, seeing as she was struggling with the controls.
"Oh, sorry," she apologised, starting to hand you back the console.
"No, no. Here, I can show you how to play."
You sat up, eating your dessert as you taught her the controls. She caught on rather quickly, but she still wasn't sure how to play the game. You figured it'd take way too long to explain the different types and their strengths and weaknesses.
"So," you yawned, then continued, "when you get into a battle, and you go to the 'fight' option, select the one that has 'super effective' underneath it."
"Okay . . . Are you tired?" Puppet wondered.
"A little bit," you admitted bashfully.
"Get some rest, then," she told you softly. "I'll make sure to wake you when your shift ends."
"All right. If you insist," you joked playfully.
You stretched your arms above your head, leaning over to lie down on the floor. You sighed, putting your hands under your head and closing your eyes. They opened when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You looked up and saw Puppet towering over you.
"Hi?" you uttered curiously.
"Here. Use this as a cushion for your head." She handed you a plushie.
"Oh, thank you."
"You're welcome."
You set the plushie down, lying your head on it. It was much more comfortable than the hard, tiled floor. You then continued to try to fall asleep.

You were woken up by quiet footsteps. You peeked your eyes open and saw a small figure walking towards you as cautiously as they could. As you focused your eyes, you could see that it was Balloon Boy. You instantly knew that he was trying to steal something from you.
A shadow slowly loomed over him. He stopped as he looked up to the source. He chuckled nervously, slowly backing away. It took you a second to realize that the source was Puppet. You looked up at her as you sat up.
"(Y/N)? Did Balloon Boy wake you?" Puppet fretted.
"Oh, yeah, but that's okay," you brushed it off, wiping your eyes.
Puppet glared at Balloon Boy, making him spin on his heels and run away. She sighed in annoyance. As you stood up, she looked back at you.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm just going to the bathroom."
"Oh, okay."
~ ~ ~ ~
You wiped your hands dry as you stepped out of the bathroom. Noticing you, Mangle crawled over to you.
"Hey, (Y/N)," she caught your attention.
"Oh, what's up?" you replied, looking up to her.
"I just want to say that I'm really glad you and Puppet are so close now. You're the first human to be under her protection," she explained.
"Oh, y- . . . Wait, under her protection?"
"It gives her something else to do, rather than grieve, so thank you."
"Oh, I'm happy to hear that."
"Anyway, sorry for being in your way."
"You're fine."
Mangle lifted herself off the floor, crawling across the Main Hall and leaving. You went the opposite direction, making your way back to the Prize Corner. As you rounded the corner, you saw that Puppet was peeking out from her box to keep watch. You chuckled lightly.
Puppet nodded as you approached her, to which you smiled and nodded in reply. You sat down in front of her box, lying down in the spot you were previously in.
"Hey, Puppet."
"Yes, (Y/N)?"
"Thank you."
"Oh, it's my pleasure."
She assumed you were thanking her for stopping Balloon Boy. You smiled as you closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep.
