Tokyo Ghoul: Kaneki x Reader

You've been dating Kaneki for a year now, through the ups and downs he was either there for you or you were there for him. You knew he was half ghoul but you didn't care. You would never care because you truly did love him even when he was human. Even through his ghoul transformation.

"Hi!" You smile sweetly as you walk into Anteiku and sit down at the seat in the far corner of the counter like you had always done.

"Morning!" Kaneki smiled over his shoulder at you as he made your usual coffee, a mocha with a medium amount of whip cream, because well why not.

"I'm really tired," You sigh. You took up a second job to help pay for all the bills that came with your guy's apartment that you now shared with Kaneki.

"So Kaneki do you know what today is?" You smiled when he set the coffee by you. It was your guy's one year anniversary!

"Uh is it something important?" He muttered and you felt your heart shatter as you sipped your coffee.

"No guess not," You whisper as your purse stayed on the counter by you holding the bracelet you had gotten him that had his name engraved in it with a small heart.

"Alright," He smiled at you.

"I'll be home late today because I have work late," You mutter.

"Want me to come pick you up?" He looked worried now. Ghouls always came out late at night.

"I should be home before any ghouls come out," You mutter.

"Alright, call me if you need me too though," He murmured as he walked off to take another person's order. You felt tears sting your eyes at him. He doesn't remember your anniversary...

You said your goodbyes and waved to your co-workers and walked out into the chilly night air. You sigh as you knew Kaneki would probably be asleep when you got home like he usually was. You decide to jog down the street towards your apartment complex and run up the stairs. You look for your key in your purse and unlock the door and sigh when all the lights were off. You closed the door gently behind you and turned on the light switch and your eyes widen. There were balloons and a banner and a cake...

"Happy anniversary," Kaneki smiled as he kissed your lips.

"You dork I thought you really forgot," You smile as you look up at him. He was wearing the bracelet you left on the counter for him.

"How could I forget the day I dated the most beautiful girl in the world," He purred and kissed you again.
