"(Y/N), hand me the document over there."

"Yes, sir," I said and handed, the leader of the Akatsuki, Pain, the documents.

He took them and looked at the documents. Quickly scanned the documents. I stood in the office, as I waited for his next command. This was my job as part of the Akatsuki. I was a helper to the leader, to help keep things in order. It was Konan who helped, but now she disappeared, but still apparently part of the Akatsuki.

"(Y/N), get Hidan and Kakazu, so I can assign them their mission." He said, I nodded and left his office. First, I went to Kakazu's room. I knocked on his door and waited for his approval to open the door or for him to open the door. After a bit of waiting, I was going to knock again, but he opened it.

"(Y/N), what do you want?" He asked. "Pain wants you in his office to assign a new mission." I said, he glanced back to his room, I looked where he glanced. He had money, maybe he just got back from a bounty.

"I'll be there in a second." He muttered. I nodded, and he closed the door. I then went to Hidan's room. I knocked on his door, and waited for him to open it, which never took too long.

Hidan opened the door, with a smirk on his face. Like I said, doesn't take too long.

"(Y/N), my favorite girl." He chuckled, and leaned on the door. "Aren't you usually stuck to Pain, being his little maid. I wish you were my servant~. You'll be wearing a short, sexy, maid dress~." He cooed, and put his pointer finger and his thumb under my chin to make me look him in the eyes.

"Wanna come in and have some fun?" He offered, trying to seduce me. I smiled and shook his head. "Sorry, can't and I came here for a reason." I said, politely declining his offer. He made a childish pout.

"Don't tell me, you came here to tell me I have a mission." He mumbled. I nodded. "You guessed it." I said.

He groaned, "By the Lord of Jashin." He shook his head, I stepped out of the way as he could step out and close the door. As soon as he did that, he wrapped his arm over my shoulder, which I allowed him to do.

We both headed to Pain's office. Hidan grabbed the door before I could, and opened it. "Sexy ladies first." He said with a wink. I blushed and walked in, he followed after me.

I saw Kakazu already in the room, and Pain looking at the both of us. I went over to Pain and stood next to him as Hidan stood next to Kakazu.

"Hidan your finally here. Now, I can assign the mission." Pain said, but he grumbled Hidan's name.

Usually I would stand outside while Pain assigned missions, but he had given me permission to be in the room while he assigned missions.

"You two are going to deal with a few ninjas, that seem to have a bit of information that could be useful in our mission. They are difficult and stubborn, so you'll have to make them give you information. After you get the information do whatever you want, I don't care. But, report back when your finished." Pain informed the immortal pair, explaining their mission.

Kakazu and Hidan nodded. "You two can go now." He dismissed them. Kakazu opened the door and walked out, Hidan followed, but stopped in his tracks and sent me a wink and left.

I smiled, and closed the door after the two.

I started to pick up anything that was lying around and organized his office. "Pain?..." I glanced at him, as he was looking at documents. He hummed in acknowledgement.

"I have a question." I mumbled, and bit my lip a bit nervous.

He sighed, "What is it?" He asked.

"Why don't I ever get a mission?" I asked. I looked at him, and he was still looking at files and documents. He ignored my question.

"I just... Think it's unfair how everyone gets a mission, even you go on missions." I said.

"You can't go on a mission, teams are full." He said.

"I can be on a team with Hidan and Kakazu, I get along with them pretty well."

"They're immortals, you'll hold them back."

I shook my head and sighed.

"I've been here since the beginning. I was on a team with Sasori and Deidara, after Sasori died you made me start working with you. I could have stayed with Deidara." I said and huffed soon after. "Why? Why do I have to do this? Why didn't I stay with Deidara!?" I asked, starting to raise my voice.

I faced him as he put down his files and documents and looked me in the eyes.

I was getting angry, I wanted answers. I wanted to know why I couldn't go back to doing missions.

He ran his fingers through his hair. "Fine, I'll tell you." He grumbled, I nodded, waiting for him to explain.

"The day Sasori got killed. You were with Deidara, he got seriously hurt by trying to explode the infiltrators, and in the process you remember what happened?" He asked.

I nodded slowly. "I was close by him and he almost killed me in the process. But, he was stopped by Kakashi Hatake, the copy ninja." I answered.

"Yes, so after that Konan and I talked. We came to the conclusion that you stay here at the base and work with me, helping me out." He explained.

"But, why me? Why not Deidara?" I asked.

"Well... If I... I mean we lost you, it means losing something important. It would hurt." He mumbled.

I tilted my head a bit, as he didn't get what he was saying. "What?" I asked, somewhat confused.

He groaned, seeming to be frustrated with what he's going to say. "You are an important asset. You're very important to well... Me. You're my right hand, if I lost you, I could always learn to use my left, but it's different, I would only want... You to help. If I sent you on missions, I would get worried, about if you'll come back. If you don't come back, it'll be different. It won't be the same, again. I need you. I need you to stay here, with me." He looked at me, hia face dusted with light pink.

"So, (Y/N), please forgive me as I haven't been sending you on missions, but I would like to ask you. Would you stay here with me?" He asked. I felt my face heat up, and I nodded. "Yes, I'll stay here with you." I said, with a smile.
