After getting off of the approximately five day long train ride, you hopped off and composed yourself to meet whoever was supposed to take you to your new base. That was before you walked straight into a metal suit of armour. You scrunched your brows after rubbing your face and grew shocked to see the object turning around to display two red orbs casted down at you as the metal was at least seven feet tall.

"Ah, I'm sorry ma'am!" The metal spoke, you 'tsk'ed' towards the person and went to walk around it before you heard another voice that sounded like a young boy, "Hey, wait! This looks like her doesn't it, Al?"

You turned again, your eyes catching sight of a grey picture of yourself in the grasp of the young boy before a silver glint caught your eye from the boy's pocket. Your eyes squinted in disbelief when you stepped towards the blonde boy to take the object from his pocket, sighing in annoyance to realise that you had found a state alchemist who was most likely the one to take you back to your new headquarters.

The boy shrieked when he felt a hand snatch the light-weighted object from his pocket, swiping his hand vigorously through the air when he failed to make contact with your arm. You snickered at the boy's poor attempts but handed the pocket watch back to which he grinned boastfully whilst puffing his chest out as if he thought he might've intimidated to you into giving it back.

You ruffled his hair to which he glared, "Hey what was that for! Don't you know who I am?"

You rolled your eyes, groaning at the same time when you gave a little nod, indicating him to continue and introduce himself, "I'm Edward Elric; the Fullmetal Alchemist!"

You stared, and kept doing so until he groaned out loud, face palming himself as he lazily stared into the grey sky. You also looked up, watching the sun straight above you. It must've been around midday then, "Shall we get going then, fullmetal?"

"Yeah, yeah come on Al." He gesture towards the metal armour and you stared, unsure of this stranger until Edward realised, "That's Alphonse, my younger brother."

You nodded, slowly when he stated that Alphonse was younger and followed them when they started walking towards a black car with someone familiar sitting in the drivers seat.

You opened the passenger door, stepped inside and strapped yourself up before turning you head to observe the driver already staring at you with an emotionless expression though he was visually sweating, "Armstrong..." You punched him straight in the arm, ignoring Al's surprised yell as you successfully caused a painful squeak to erupt from his mouth, "That was from Olivier."

- Time Skip -

You stepped out of the car, wordlessly following behind Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric to get to the Colonel's office to await your new orders as your suitcases got taken to your new apartment thanks to Alex Armstrong.

Edward glanced at you a few times, unsure of your purpose at Central Command and who you were. Al only walked forward, an audible clinking emitting from metal armour to which you found out was hollow because of the echo you heard whenever he spoke.

Edward made it to a door, opening it wide to reveal an office void of any officers. The name on the central desk read 'Roy Mustang' yet the man wasn't even in like he was supposed to be. You were already annoyed.

Edward growled as he made his way towards the desk, around it and into the seat as his brows were furrowed, muttering obscenities about the Colonel whilst you continued to stand in your spot.

"Damn, the man is probably off in a bar with a crowd of girls surrounding him. Stupid Colonel."

You felt anger again, this man was only giving more reasons for rebelliousness and more anger towards him. You took a seat in a chair as Alphonse also did.
You weren't sure why Edward and Al had stayed also, after all they were only meant to bring you to your new headquarters and just when you were about to open your mouth, Alphonse interrupted you, "Uh, so, we never got your name..?"

You turned to look at him when you saw he was also looking at you, "(Y/N) (L/N), transferred from Fort Briggs under orders from the Fuhrer and Colonel."

Edward sat in the desk, ignoring the fact that his feet couldn't touch the ground as he listened, remembering Fort Briggs as a very cold and strong military unit. It was silent again until the door that had previously been closed because of Alphonse, was opened.

A man of dark hair walked in, wearing the military uniform with a confident yet arrogant aura surrounding him. He glanced at Edward, sighed and clicked his clothed hand which ignited a bright spark of fire, oh how you wished to see the true colours of fire instead of this plain black and white and grey.

Edward screamed, jumping under the table to defend himself as the fire clashed with the window behind the chair. Alphonse had yelled out for his brother's safety while the man you guessed was the Colonel set his dark eyes onto you.

You stood in a haste, raising your right hand to salute the man before he also lazily saluted and walked towards his desk that Edward had just crawled from, "What the hell was that?! You're insane!"

"Did someone say something? Oh FullMetal, didn't see you there since you're so small." The man teased with a satisfied smirk on his face. He looked about mid-twenties to early-thirties which was relatively close to your age and he certainly looked quite good-looking and chiselled.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE ON THE GROUND!" You stood your ground, watching unamused as Alphonse had to physically grab Edward off of the ground as the young teenager writhed and squirmed like a fish out of water. Edward was ignored as he kept yelling insults towards his Colonel and you stared as Alphonse wordlessly took Ed out of the room to cool down.

"You're (Y/N), correct?" The Colonel asked as he sat on his slightly crisp chair. You looked towards him, "Thats right Colonel. I was tranfer-"

"Transferred from For Briggs that's right. Drop the formalities officer, the name is Roy Mustang, Roy or Mustang will do fine."

You nodded, taking his sentence as an invitation to sit on the dark-coloured seat, stilling when he asked the question that was on everyones tongue, no matter who you were,

"Have you seen the sky yet?"

You hated that question, it needed no further explanation. The question was so common no matter where you went because it was how people asked if you had found your other half; your soul mate. It was worded this way because the sky was the most conventional thing people knew to be 'blue,' whatever blue was.

The colour was common, you heard your uniform was blue too but you had no idea what that meant. It was also meant to be the same colour as the ocean, which sounds incredibly unusual.

You had given up on that rubbish, as a child you were so excited to find your soul mate because of how fondly your mother had spoken of colours and how beautiful you're hair was or your clothing as a preteen. It all crumbled when you were seventeen and you had met a boy. He was so charismatic and beautiful to you, so sure he was the one as you were also sure of it. You had saved your first kiss for your one year anniversary.

It was a miserable one year anniversary followed by a heart-shattering break up. You joined the military after that, not paying attention to men or people who spoke of colours. God damn, it annoyed you.

Your eyes found Roy's again, feeling an usual shiver run up your spine at the way his dark orbs burnt into your suddenly mentally-bare form. You shook your head and cast your eyes to your hands that were entwined in your lap, a slight pink hue appearing on your cheeks.
The man nodded and looked out a window on the far side of the room as he spoke quietly, "By the way you spaced out with that stoic expression, I'm guessing you had a bad experience and gave up. Is that why you're here?'

You nodded, not trusting your voice to speak as clearly as your thoughts, "I want to say I don't believe in it but my late mother spoke of these 'colours' with the happiest look in her eyes. Even when my father died, she was so.. So sad but so happy she could still see a world with colour.. See what colour the sky was at every hour of the day.. That was her favourite."

The man 'Hmm'ed' in answer and you mentally questioned what in the world you were doing having a deep conversation with your new superior when you hardly knew him, "Have you? Seen t-the sky I mean"

His voice was deep and melodic it was making you stutter. It was only fair to question him since you had revealed a lot about yourself, besides you had to know if he already had someone before accidentally developing feelings for him.

"No.. Not sure I believe it but enough of that, you were transferred here to provide service and support in Edward and Al's objective of finding the Philosophers Stone."

You nodded, getting up to leave, "Yes sir, have I been dismissed?" You wanted to leave, he knew too much and he acted like a shallow and self-absorbed man when showing his true self with the Elric's. You didn't like it, but this man was your new superior so you had to obey every order he gave.

He followed you out, probably to seem formal in front of a new officer and so you opened the door, noticing Ed and Al also standing there waiting for new instructions from the Colonel. You kept walking, unaware of the three boys watching you depart until Mustang called you back, "(L/N)."

He walked towards you, Edward also walking with him, a gleam in his eye to listen to what the Colonel wanted to say. You stood and waited him to come nearer until he was suddenly falling.

Falling right into your direction once he was only a metre away. You took notice of Ed's grin growing once he realised he successfully tripped his superior into a new officer.
You gasped, arms instinctively raising in front of your torso to prevent any possible damage before Roy's body fell into your own, effectively knocking you backwards to cause a collision between your backside, head and the ground.

You winced in pain, feeling extra weight on top of you as your eyes were scrunched shut from the sting in the back of your head. You felt an odd feeling on your lips but the weight lifted before you could figure out what it was. Your arms were then freed when Roy lifted as you could now clear the tiny tears in the corners of your eyes and cradle the pain in your head as it felt like your brain had clashed with the back of your skull.

You sighed in annoyance, once again, listening to Ed's snickers as Alphonse scolded his brother for his silly tricks. You then heard a sharp intake of breath and a shaky release a few seconds later. You didn't dare open your eyes as blush made its way to your cheeks and the tips of your ears when thinking about your Colonel falling on top of you.

"I-I think I be-believe now.. (Y/N)."

Roy's statement confused you but the way he said your name was so endearing that you now feared opening your eyes. What had landed on your lips? What was Roy talking about? It couldn't.. No he only said he didn't believe when speaking about the colours,

"Open your eyes, I want to see what colour they are."

You gasped, more tears appearing out of nowhere to leak out of closed eye lids when Ed had also gasped in shock when Alphonse also did before dragging him somewhere to give you some privacy. Roy continued to hold himself above you, you could feel his breath lightly fanning against your face and with a sudden burst of courage you slowly opened your (E/C) coloured eyes.

Onyx eyes, a clean-shaven, baby-faced visage, black hair with a blue uniform above you. Blue.
Your eyes widened severely, almost popping from their sockets and you could only stare at his eyes then his lips. Those lips had just kissed you and you didn't even realise. Those lips that were now smiling so widely they made butterflies- no, canons explode throughout your whole body.

The man lifted himself again to wipe the tears from your face, with his ignition cloth getting slightly damp from the salty water on your face and you could only stare, admiring your soulmates face, admiring the colour in which he was made of and admiring the thought of living with this male though thoughts of womanisers then swarmed your brain.

Without another thought, you also sat up and proceeded to embrace the man in a hug full of warmth and serenity to which he only gave an airy chuckle and wrapped his arms securely around your waist.

"No more women, Ed said you see lots of women. No more.. O-only me.." You spoke, your voice muffled in the neck of your new lover who who felt staring down at you, "Of course darling, let's go see the sky now."

He pulled you back to cup your jaw, smiling so lovingly as you could only sigh and leaned forward to crash your lips onto his. You felt... Warm, fuzzy and complete. It was dizzying, the kiss that Roy took dominance of as he growled seductively into your mouth to which his tongue met yours, pulling back to catch your breath as you answered, feebly and breathlessly,

"I want to see your fire too.."

"And that."
