(W/N)! Stop, I've had enough! This has to stop."
You shouted in frustration as angry tears made their way down your red, glowing cheeks. Your body fumed in anger and desperation but your master was absolutely ruthless and they seemed to think that abusing a celestial spirit was a great way to pass time.
Your master glared at you, but you had no time to experience fear when they automatically slapped you across the face. You fell to the ground as you weakly held your cheek that began stinging in pain, already feeling a bruise form when you watched (F/N) on the ground, withering in pain. It was okay though, because as long as your master was focused on you, your friend could regain their strength and leave to heal back in the celestial world.
"You spirits are nothing but trash." (W/N) spat with venom.
Your friend moaned your name in pain, as if they were actually experiencing the pain you had just endured but your eyes only hardened when you nodded your head furiously, a silent indication to tell them to close their gate as you heard your master screaming about how pathetic you were.
You were a particularly strong celestial spirit; probably your masters strongest, that would often come to protect your master when needed due to your contract you wished you could burn but other than that, your master loved to abuse (F/N), especially when you were there.
(F/N) eyes widened at your request, they knew what you asking and they didn't like it one bit. Nevertheless you got up, staring at (F/N), their breathing becoming lighter as their pain began to dissappear but that must've been was (W/N) wanted because in the next second, (F/N) was on the ground again, choking on her breath after your master had kneed (F/N) straight in the gut. You thought (F/N) was going to puke out her blood at the sight and more tears cascaded down your face when you ran to her, only to earn a foot to the throat.
Kick after kick and punch after punch (W/N) delivered their best shots on your body, hitting all places possible to weaken you down to the pathetic scum they thought you were. Blood was pouring from your face and you knew you body was surely going to turn purple if you survived this beating. It was, above all else, the worst beating your master had given and you learnt why they did that when (W/N) stopped and slowly stalked towards (F/N) like a hungry Lion hunting down a helpless sheep.
You gasped when (W/N) actions begun to make sense to you as you were now completely helpless in agony while your master, the one who was supposed to take care of you for your loyalty, launched their leg straight into (F/N)'s face to commence their beating. Only this time (W/N) had a murderous glare in their eyes as they kept going, proceeding to beat (F/N) till their last breath.
- Now -
You shuddered from the memories that were burned into your mind. No matter what, every time you looked at Lucy or watched her with her spirits, you remembered (F/N) and how you so miserably failed to save her.
You didn't trust Celestial Wizards anymore but you hated the feeling of jealousy that crawled into you when you watched Lucy treat her spirits like they were her true friends. You hated being alone in the Fairy Tail guild- you knew you couldn't get too close to her because she would sense your odd aura just like she had with Leo; Leo the Lion, King of the Zodiacs.
- Flash Back -
Rapid breathing left your mouth as oxygen burned your throat like sandpaper. Laying in agony, you couldn't move as every muscle in your body burned like you had tiny, sharp nails flowing through your blood stream and your master had abandoned you with the dead body of (F/N) laying next to you. Their cold and lifeless eyes unendingly stared into yours and you couldn't do anything but call for help as you had suddenly run out of tears to cry.
"What.. Happened?!" A roar bellowed in a stern voice. They sounded shocked and you grew scared, thinking of all the possibilities of being hurt again. You painfully moved your head but a loud cry erupting from your mouth stopped you as you felt your wounds moving and reopening from the actions.
You heard fast footsteps reach your side and the person watched you with wide and shocked eyes, not believing what he saw when he realised you and (F/N) were both celestial spirits; just as he was.
"Plea- please.. Don't.. Hu-hurt m-" You voice managed to croak out the sentence and you hoped your pathetic and frail voice would get through to the stranger so he could help you. He did, he helped you and you almost cringed when you watched your crimson blood stain his black tuxedo as he glanced into your eyes with sympathy and pure shock at the damage done to your body. You never looked into his semi-covered eyes for too long as they held pity and you didn't want that. You wanted to help (F/N). But it was too late and you had failed them.
- Now -
You sniffled and you became annoyed when you realised you had begun crying again. How many times had you lived through the past and cried when you knew you couldn't change anything. Crying would do nothing but tired you out and nobody would want to see such a distressing sight.
Your hand unconsciously reached up to hold the hood tighter around your face, looking down into the table in the Fairy Tail guild, you refused to meet the eyes of anyone because you already knew your abnormal aura was peculiar enough.
Your bizarre behaviour gave people the idea that you didn't want to be bothered and you were glad they came up with that assumption. It was as if your life had no meaning anymore, you were just an abandoned spirit who refused to leave Earthland because of your Master who had mysteriously disappeared.
- Flash Back -
"Why don't you go back? You'll heal faster and regain your strength.. You could die (Y/N)."
You sighed in annoyance as your body trembled in exhaustion. Leo; your saviour, was at it again. The man who saved you in your time of need, he helped you heal; as fast as you could in Earthland.
He made a burial for (F/N) when you couldn't and he occasionally visited you to pay his respect and see how you were doing. He understood why you were doing what you were, as much as he hated it, he also understood your intentions because he had done the same when Aries was in a time of distress.
You were beyond tired, you were strong- almost like another Leo except you weren't a Zodiac but you were a rare silver key that held lots of power. Your power allowed you to stay in Earthland for longer and fight harder with Magic that usually made your enemies run in fear. You weren't exactly sure how long you could last in Earthland though and that terrified you beyond words because if you were forced to go back to the Celestial World then you knew (W/N) would summon another spirit and as part of her punishment, you wouldn't allow her to summon anymore spirits for as long as you lived.
"I cant and I wont Leo. Quit telling me to go back." You spoke harshly. You didnt mean to sound so rude to the spirit you owed your life to but his constant orders and bickering about the celestial world annoyed you greatly.
- Now -
Three years had passed since then and you were still in Earthland. You were relatively weak as you were constantly using your Magic to stay in the Guild and at the same time, you were keeping away from the others so they didn't find out you weren't necessarily human.
Your eyes always found Loke's when he was summoned by Lucy and you knew he sensed your odd presence, you had no idea what would happen if he found out you were still here in Earthland but you didn't really want to find out either. (W/N) was out there somewhere and you couldn't let her beat and abuse another spirit; not while you were alive.
You were still in the guild with your head down against the cool table but you tensed when you felt stares burning into you, listening as they quietly approached to take a seat by you. You heard them speaking and you mentally swore to yourself when you realised the worse people in the world had to come up to you, how could this situation get any worse and how could you exit fast.
"Hey you okay there?"
"Yeah, you don't look so good."
You purposely moved your mouth over your arm to muffle your voice and make you unrecognisable to Loke as he had been the one to question you along with his Master; Lucy Heartfilia.
"I'm.... Fine. Just leave me be please." You answered in a tired voice. That was the only voice you knew now, as you no longer had the strength to speak with authority and conviction like you used to.
It was quiet but you gasped in shock when your hood was abruptly pulled from your head, allowing your face to be visible as you uncovered yourself in a rush to pull the hood over you again. To your luck, you were too late and Loke had recognised you immediately.
"(Y-Y/N)... You- you're sti- I can't be- believe it." He murmured breathlessly as Lucy watched in confusion, immediately frightened when you made the King of the Zodiacs stop in his tracks, losing his cool and brave front as he crumbled at the sight of you after he thought you were dead or missing for so long.
In the time he had known you, he admired you and your strength. He knew the two of would get along nicely and it slightly made it easier but harder at the same time when Leo began to miss your presence at every minute of the day, only becoming ecstatic when he would get to visit you.
As time passed and your strength drained he grew extremely worried for your wellbeing and now after so long, you were still stuck because of the monster of a master you had been forcibly contracted to.
"C-come.." The Lion uttered quietly and you almost didn't hear him. He came closer to you and you gasped, visibly afraid when he grabbed your weak and fragile hand to take you somewhere unknown.
You found yourself walking into the Magnolia Cemetery and you cringed slightly at the eerie feeling the sight of tombstones gave you. You unconsciously tightened you hold on Leo as he continued to walk you towards a large tombstone and stopped in front of it. You watched him in curiosity, waiting for him to explain why you were here but he only nudged you to look at the tombstone where you read the words; tears immediately flooding your vision.
'Here lays the body of the beloved Celestial Wizard, (W/N). May their spirit find peace.'
You crumbled to the ground, taking Leo with you as he hugged you comfortingly when you realised your master had died and you were only torturing yourself by staying in Earthland. You chocked of your sobs, unable to say or do anything as water leaked down your face, wetting the jacket of Leo who continued to comfort you, rubbing your back in reassurance and softly kissing the shell of your ear to calm you.
- Time Skip -
Weeks had passed and by then all the wizards in Fairy Tail finally found out who and what you were. They felt bad for not noticing but you only reassured them with a smile as to not dwell on the past that you knew would continue to haunt you.
You had also returned back to the Celestial World in that time with Leo, hand in hand where you finally regained your strength and came back feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The man watched you with a constant smile on his face and all you could do was smile back, never leaving his side as he gave you another reason for you to owe your life to him.
Both Leo and yourself became extremely close; together in Earthland, the celestial world and in battles where you fought together. Lucy admired your power and she became beyond delighted when Leo finally looked happy to be reunited with the spirit only Lucy knew he secretly loved.
Lucy was somewhat intimidated by your magic and grew delirious when Leo and yourself approached the blonde mage to ask for a contact with the celestial wizard. Leo knew you were cautious about handing over your key but he had managed to persuade you when he mentioned the fact that he and yourself would only grow closer once you both shared the same master; one who treated her spirits like family and not worthless slaves.
You were finally happy and stronger than ever when you knew your lover would always be beside you. It hadn't become officially spoken but you knew that Leo didn't need to ask you when he kissed you out of the blue, having you automatically respond and melt into it as he smiled into the kissed and moved his lips along with yours.
You and Leo loved each other fully and unconditionally; the Queen of the Silver Keys and the King of the Golden Keys.
