Everyday consisted of the sane routine. Everyday you would walk through the forest of Magnolia on your own path and reach the grounds that brought you solitude. You would train there; practising your magic, you would admire nature and meditate and sometimes you only went for fun when you had nothing else to do.
Even though you practise (M/N) magic you didn't feel like you had to join a guild so you were a solo villager from Magnolia who travelled through Fiore, visiting all of the neighbouring guilds including Blue Pegasus and Lamia Scale for example.
It was about eight in the morning and you were on your normal route to your special place. It normally took about twenty minutes to arrive to your destination as you trenched through the bushes and stomped on the long grass that had grown over the years. Pants left your mouth but you never stopped until you finally made it.
A content sigh left your mouth as you made your way into the huge tree that had many branches that you liked to climb on, you got comfy in your spot and closed you eyes in peace. That was until a smooth voice interrupted you- causing a squeal to leave your mouth as you fell from the tree.
Your voice got caught in your throat as you fell, waiting for the hard and painful impact to hit your backside before you felt yourself being caught by two masculine arms.
".. I think you just fell for me."
Your brows furrowed when you caught your breath, you scrambled from the strangers arms and stood up only to fall onto the floor. You cursed to yourself on your clumsiness and the wild beating of your heart that was the result of the velvety voice that spoke that cheesy pick up line to you.
"I-uh what, who are you?!" You exclaimed, pointing your finger towards him in hopes to make him at least a bit intimidated by you. It seemed it didn't work and how the tables had turned when two other strangers came from the bushes to meet the boy who caught you.
"Hibiki! Can we go now? There's no- Oh hello, beautiful."
You flushed in surprise and in shock from the abrupt compliment and the man who caught you seemed to smile lightly, after he held a scowl panted onto his flawless-looking face. The man with light brown hair then stalked closer to you, seeming to have sparkles surrounding him by how much he seemed to be glowing and introduced himself as he knelt down to one knee and kiss your knuckle.
"My dear damsel in distress, I am Hundred Night Hibiki; or Hibiki Lates-"
"I am Silent Night Ren! A third that makes up The Trimens in the Blue Pegasus guild, Ren Akatsuki at your service."
"And Holy Night Eve; Eve Tearm, It truly is a pleasure to meet you."
You stuttered as they seemed to introduce themselves in a synchronised fashion and ripped your hand from Hibiki's delicate hand to scowl at your childish behaviour. You wouldn't let any man cause you to become a crumbling mess just from some swooning and compliments. Or would you? No! You couldn't, these men were only a couple of womanisers who obviously expected you to melt at their words and inflate their ego.
"So, Do you have a name.. Or can I call you mine?"
You scoffed at his words but answered any way, just so you could leave after having the place that was particularly significant to you feel like it was suddenly violated. You stared at each of the boys, watching them pose as if they were waiting for you to scream with hearts in your eyes but you only chuckled dryly- feeling somewhat proud by stomping all over their parade.
"The names (F/N) (L/N) and I was just leaving."
You grinned the sight of their faces dropping, running through the bushes and away with laughter as you made your way back to Magnolia, planing what time you should come back tomorrow when you figured those three losers wouldn't be there.
How you were wrong. You figured you would play it safe just in case those boy came when you did and you decided to come two hours later than you usually would; eight o'clock. So now you had arrived at ten seventeen in the morning and you almost groaned out loud when you saw Hibiki flawlessly leaning against a tree that was tilted over a small flow of the water. You rolled your eyes when you noticed that he was actually looking at his own reflection and you turned to leave again. You froze when you accidentally stepped on a branch that seemed to appear out of nowhere and your only guess was that some higher being didn't really like you.
"Hey! Angel, I knew I'd find you here."
"Hibiki." You stiffly nodded in acknowledgment, earning a beautiful smile from him- as much as you'd hate to say it, "My name is (Y/N)- Why are you here?"
"Oh, I know your name is (Y/N), I just figured God was showing off when he made you- hence; Angel," He replied smoothly, smiling wider at your red cheeks, "You intrigued me, I wanted to get to know you better."
You walked on to the tree with heaps of branches and took a seat in it, getting comfortable once again before turning to look at the handsome man. You stared a while longer, hating the chills that seemed to spread when you saw how he was watching you from head to toe with that smug smirk on his perfectly created face. Why did God have to create him so god damn gorgeous?!
"Well, I'm sure your attempts to swoon me aren't going to help you, go home." You stiffly replied, avoiding eye contact when his face seemed to fall slightly at your blunt words. You felt as if you had managed to finally get through to him, expecting him to leave but you also mentally cringed when a shot of hope went through you, hoping he wouldn't do what he was just told.
"I think I like this place, especially if you're here- so.. Aside from being sexy, what do you do for a living?"
You groaned again, this time letting it be heard and Hibiki stared unamused at your unusual behaviour towards his constant flirting. Back at Blue Pegasus, The Trimens were the most good-looking group of wizards who caused girls to join the guild just so they coud get next to Hibiki Lates.
And here you seemed to be repelled by his presence but unfortunately for you, that only made him want to pursue you even more.
"I'm a wizard from Magnolia who practices (M/N) magic."
"..."
"What?"
"That's it?" He asked in curiosity.
You nodded in confusion, not seeing the problem in your answer and this caused Hibiki to only sigh, 'This'll take longer than I thought.' He thought to himself.

Months had passed and Hibiki continued to harass your place of tranquility. No matter what time you arrived it was as if he awoke with the sun to see you and stayed the whole day waiting for you. You had grown used to it and often found yourself criticising your own clothes as you unconsciously chose an outfit to impress the man you had met only a while ago.
You always scolded yourself when you did that and grumbled words your mother definitely wouldn't be happy to hear, wearing your usual shirt and pants, you makd your way to the place in the forest you loved dearly.
"Angel, tell me.. Why is this place so special to you?"
You froze in your spot on the floor with your fingers being dragged with the flow of the stream. You looked at your reflection, thanking the heavens for how expressionless you looked as you wouldn't dare shed a tear in front of the man. He would most likely turn it into some pick up line anyway.
"My mother brought me here all the time to teach me how to appreciate nature and the Earth... It was also the last place she requested to be as she released her last breath."
You don't know why you told him so openly and you also don't know why you felt so comfortable about it, Hibiki gave you a feeling that made you feel nice and warm inside- maybe that's why you continued to come here even though his annoying presence would continue to pester you with no end.
Your heart beat began to thump increasingly fast when he surprisingly embraced you in a hug, "I'm sorry Angel."
Sometimes Hibiki only touched you to grab your hand cheekily or cop a feel; earning a decent-sized egg on his head, he never went as far as hugging but you guessed this occasion called for one.
He grabbed your shoulders and pulled you back so he could look at your face, you watched as his eyes scanned you and you mentally prayed he wouldn't say anything about your heart beat that rang through your ears.
"If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put 'U' and 'I' together."
He voiced huskily, attempting and succeeding in making the situation lighter and chuckled lightly when you shoved his firm chest away. You cast your head down so he wouldn't see your blushing cheeks but you had a feeling he already knew the effects of his petty pick up lines.
"Baka." You murmured towards him when you looked back to the stream. You hated the way you felt around him, you hated how you constantly hung onto his words as if they hiding some deeper meaning and you hated when you would take little glances at the mesmerising man to see if you could catch him already looking at you.
This was exactly how the days had been with Hibiki Lates throughout the entire time you had known him, it annoyed you to no end and you hated the fact that he ticked all the boxes to describe a womaniser.
'Can I borrow a kiss? I promise I'll give it back.'
'Did the sun come out or did you just smile at me?'
'Are you an Alien? Because you just abducted my heart.'
'Kissing burns 6.4 calories a minute.. Wanna work out?'
All of these sentences left the impeccable lips of Hibiki Lates and they all managed to leave you in an internal freakout; blushing, stuttering and scowling at your own reaction when you literally melted on the inside but retorted with a punch or a shout on the outside.
These pick up lines were clearly listed in some sort of book that he had spoken to many other girls that he had met and you absolutely loathed it when you heard a little voice screaming about how you secretly wished; craved, that these words were one hundred percent honest and pure and only for you.
_._._._
Weeks had passed and you knew that the hug Hibiki and yourself shared meant more to you than what it should've. You hated how pathetic you seemed but you couldn't deny the outrageous feelings you had developed for the model-worthy mage. Every day you became a nervous and fidgeting girl who acted as if you had a petty school girl crush and you knew that by the way Hibiki had always watched you, he knew.
You knew that he knew and that scared you immensely. He knew that you knew that he knew and that caused him to smile smugly every time he visited you. He had no doubts anymore because it had become an unspoken routine for you to come here for about an hour a day to spend time together and it made him extremely happy, though he wouldn't really admit that.
He knew because he caught you trying to catch his attention; you dressed up for him- not enough to exposed a lot of skin but enough to catch his eye (more than you already had), you had to think more about your replies so you didn't end up hurting him like you usually did, you were more kind and giving towards him and you often put him before yourself.
It made him feel happy and special, he was flattered but he didn't know what caused this to happen. Maybe his silly pick up lines had actually worked in his favour when he spoke them towards the girl who caused his heart to skip a beat.
He also knew that you thought they were only said to get in your pants or something along those lines but he was actually completely honest when he said them and he didn't regret it at all.
And so that brings the two of you here, seated by the stream where you gained his attention when you nervously attached your hand into his warm and soft one, entwining your fingers when the both of your cheeks lit up as red as a tomato.
He coughed, feeling nervous when he thought about saying what he wanted to, he felt choked up when he thought about rejection but he had to at least try. He embraced the feeling of butterflies in his stomach; they were actually more like a zoo but just for Hibiki's fidgety sake, let's say it was butterflies.
"Uh.. So Angel.. Do yo-you have a name-" You smiled knowingly and turned to the man as he anxiously tightened his hold on your delicate hand, "Or can I call you mine?"
You slowly leaned closer towards the man who watched with wide eyes, awaiting your answer as his eyes closed involuntarily when you lips grazed across his. He froze when he felt your soft and even breath on his face and he almost jumped for joy at your answer, closing the gap between you two to finally gain what you both wanted all along.
"You can call me yours."
